The hotel is huge with numerous restaraunts and swimming pools. The food is great and there are plenty of it and despite it being a buffet you never really have to queue as there are is so much to choose from spread out over a massive beautiful dining room. Words cannot describe the look of the hotel and I highly recommend you find their website and check it out. We live on the north side of the island and realize if we want pools and touristy stuff, we have to…read morego to the south. My boyfriend made our reservation on the day of and we headed down to the hotel at about 2. Check in was a breeze and there is free underground parking...not just street parking. Our room was close to the elevator which was super convenient and I was very surprised that the rooms were so spacious! Not European style rooms at all. They already had the pullout couch open with the bed made but we ended up using the crib instead. There is a huge patio with two lounge chairs and another table with two upright chairs. Basically, if you wanted, you never had to leave that room for anything because you could sunbathe right on your own deck. The tv was large enough and my boyfriend and I were even able to play split screened call of duty on it. He loved how it was so easy to plug his PS4 into the tv. We have a two year old, so after getting some food, we headed straight to the kid pool. This place is awesome. Foot height water for the spray park and about thigh high water for the trampoline side. The trampoline seems to be all the kid's favorite as they can jump run and slide all up and down it. There is always entertainment for the kids and daily games for adults too. Our room rate also came with buffet breakfast which was awesome! So much selection and they could easily charge €20 a head and people would gladly pay. My son and I also adventured around the monkey bar/rock climbing area which was like a whole new type of park for him. It's offseason rate right now at about $180 but it was so worth it...you never have to leave the resort. For me, even the kid's pool was relaxing and that's what I love. The only bad thing I would say, is that we are going to have to explore the outskirts for good, cheaper food and just eat our free breakfast at the hotel. Also there is a Super Dino right across the way so don't worry if you forgot any necessities, they'll have it!

Midway through our stay, we had a family meeting on whether to leave early or not, but by then we seemed to have struggled through figuring out how things work. First, the highlights of the stay were the sun, swimming in the pool, the FRAM animation team, the room cleaning ladies were great, the Canary Diving school located underneath the hotel and Rickie. We can recommend Gran Canaria again, but not this hotel. The trouble started upon arrival, when the room wasn't available yet. After such a long flight with kids, this already isn't acceptable in my opinion. But the hotel did have a late breakfast available at the Choza restaurant, so we could get some food. When getting to the restaurant, not knowing how anything works, we set down our backpacks on some nearby rocks. Shortly after a lady working in the restaurant moved this giant moving table just in the way of the rocks. She looked at the bags, looked at me with what I thought was an 'F-you' look and put this big table in the way. I had to climb around the table, get the bag, and then we she came back and saw the bag on the table then she became animated and started saying "No! No! No! No!..." Welcome to Taurito Princess. After returning to the front desk a few times (the room was continually not ready when promised), we received the room keys and instructions, "Go through those glass doors to the rooms." The issue was there are no rooms through the doors. There are stairs and elevators. How could elevators be made so confusing? The buttons are on a iPad looking thing, and there is buttons for Hall, Pool, 1, 2, 3, et. We were on level 1. What could go wrong? For some reason, the elevator stopped and we got out, but the level was marked '0'on the wall. Wait a second.... Weren't we on level 0? Back in, and for some reason we visited the 2nd and 3rd floors, until getting back to 0. At this point, after the long day of travel, getting told off by the restaurant lady, and can't find the room, I was already done. When the reception refused to show me to the room, I had to take some time on the couches out in the front in order to get my head around that this is the kind of service that I had to look forward to for the next two weeks. Hint: Pool level is level 0. Quick note that this was our first, and will be the last, visit to an all inclusive resort. Now we know. It's like the Taurito Princess is an Escape Room, except they only tell you half the clues. I've travelled through Spain quite a bit, and the lack of professionalism here is not cultural. So we get down to dinner that night for more uncomfortable surprises. When trying to enter, I get stopped firmly by the doorman / manager with the instruction that I need to wear pants? Eh? How would we have known that? On the single paper of welcome instructions at check-in, it did say Dress Code, but was not explained what this meant. This stop at the door became a ritual, as pretty every evening we were able to witness the next newly arrived and not informed family get stopped at the door and turned away from dinner. The dress code seems to work like this... Men, in the downstairs Paradise restaurant need to wear pants for dinner. That's it. Women and children can wear anything they way. The Paradise restaurant is basically a packed food hall. Granted, the food is ok, but it's busy and chaotic. No obvious reason at all for pants on men in this restaurant, other than to confuse and annoy the guests. Even more confusing, for the special Spanish and Italian/Asian dinners upstairs in the Choza restaurant, which are much more finer dinning in location (the food is about the same), there is no dress code. Again, Be Confused! This brings me to the making of reservations for the special dinners. I'm still not sure if you make the reservations upstairs or downstairs. I think the Italian/Asian reservation you make in the Choza upstairs at lunch, and the Spanish you make downstairs (even though the dinner is upstairs), and that is done at breakfast. Apparently, you need to bring the little card that they give you when making the reservation with you to the dinner in order to get into the dinner. Well, we didn't seem to need one for the Spanish dinner, but we certainly did for the Italian/Asian dinner. They don't tell you that when making the reservation, and on the back of the little card it literally states, "Please, get in touch with the head waiter in order to make your reservation." What? Again, it was a ritual to see people turned away from the dinner in order to go get their little card that they weren't informed to bring. Oh, and the highlight of the story was Rickie, our guest cockroach which we found in the room walking across the walls. Lovely.

From our two balconies we enjoyed views of the Parque García Sanabria, the city and the sea. The suite is spacious, bright and airy, with modern and uncluttered decoration. Bed and furniture are very comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower, separate bath, double basin and separately enclosed toilet. We had a spacious walk in closet with a safe. The welcome macaroons, coffee machine and unlimited water were a nice touch. During our stay we visited again the spa; enjoying the spa circuit (thalassotherapy, heated outdoor spa pool, jacuzzi, plunge pools, sauna and steam rooms) and a 70 minute essential massage (I believe we paid £110 per person or so). While at the spa, I decided to get a facial treatment, this was also very good. The facilities are very well maintained and look elegant and uncluttered. The hotel itself and grounds are classic and elegant but have been renovated with a modern twist (I think the hotel was bought by Iberostar and renovated around 2014). You can still see the lovely marble all throughout the reception and the stairs, the lovely chandeliers and parquet flooring. The outdoor garden is lush and green, it's a very nicely tucked away gem in the heart of the city. The location is superb, you are across the street from the park, a few streets from the beach, museums, the Nuestra Señora del África market, etc... Regarding the food: we had breakfast at the hotel. There's a decent selection of pastries, bread, cereals. A small selection of a la carte options, some cheese, cold cuts, caviar, limited fruit. I would have liked some better quality fruits and more vegetarian friendly options but I understand the fruit and veg is limited and of poorer quality due to the geolocation of Tenerife (however I saw very good quality ones at the market a few streets away from the hotel!). During our stay we visited the bar for after dinner drinks, the Mango mule was absolutely delicious and had a tasty edible lemon straw. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout the whole stay. I would most definitely come back. If you want to see the real Tenerife, you must stay in Santa Cruz, La Laguna or La Orotava.

The towel animals were so adorable, the children visiting seemed to really enjoy them. The only complaint would be that our bathtub backed up and caused the toilet to flood, the only remedy we were offered until the next morning was extra towels. That was on the first night of our stay, first thing the next morning we were in a new room.

The outdoor amenities were so well designed lots of people were taking pictures. The resort boosted 5 pools all over the complex, lots of outdoor bars.
