I tried responding back via text and calling but I don't think she is a real person because she simply would never respond back. So, I kept calling the main number and her number several times. I also sent texts to "Melanie". They simply would not pickup the phone or answer my messages. I am in the process of relocating from Chicago to Houston. So, I decided to give an apartment finding company a chance. In Chicago, there are a ton of these services. They actually will pick up the phone on the first ring and meet with you within days (usually the same day). This company not so much. I did end up finding an apartment on my own. It was tough but I did it with no help what so ever.

Once I no longer needed his service (I found my own place), he continued to spam my E-mail account with invitations to rental/homebuying events to promote his business. I had to ask him a few times with a call to the office to request this to stop. It started with LinkedIn, and then through other similar social media mediums, then E-mail. Finally the office took care of it and I had to take the extra step to block him. Then, two years later, another agent who connected with me through LinkedIn as well began to do the same practice. In no way did I ever ask to opt-in to any of these invitations. That means I'm on another distribution list that I never agreed to. She is sending Evites--without any opt-out buttons. I had to contact ULR again, and another agent profusely apologized to me. I'm not into this spamming marketing practice because quite honestly, it cheapens a business and creates a desperate image. Do some of these agents like getting cold calls from random numbers themselves and pressured into something they don't need? I don't think any of us do! So it would imply that with common sense, you shouldn't do what you don't enjoy yourself, to people who aren't clearly requesting your service. The agent who helped me get myself removed from a distribution list (again) says that she doesn't practice those methods herself and aren't exemplary of ULR as a whole, but no one seems to be encouraging or reminding other agents to stop the SPAM method. I never experience this when I contact an agent through HAR. Bottom line: I get it, it works once on a blue moon, but if you're about branding yourself as a high quality agent, this spam stuff is not a lot of people's cup of tea. Try this instead, reach out to a potential client directly and ask if they're currently interested in renting/buying or would like to remain in touch in the future if neither are currently an option. Don't force me into your impersonal mass distribution list against my will. My time there was filled with serious violations of privacy, intimidation and a complete Racism against tenant. When I moved out in December 2025, at first I didn't notice the tracking device that left me feeling violated, unsafe and my Life being threatened. On my last day at the apartment, a day before I parked my things to move out, I discovered that someone had forcefully entered my apartment. My TV parked and other of my belongings were disturbed in a way that made it clear I wasn't alone in that space. I immediately reported this forced entry to management, but they brushed off my concerns, showing a shocking lack of accountability. The situation escalated further when I found myself facing five lawyers representing the management after I tried to resolve these issues amicably. Instead of addressing my legitimate concerns, they chose intimidation tactics, which only reinforced my belief that they prioritize their interests over the safety and well-being of their tenants. This feeling of being watched didn't come out of nowhere; I had long suspected that SkyHouse might be surveilling its residents. The tracking device I found, evidence I will be attaching the screenshots photos to this review only for you to confirm everything yourself and you can see my fears yourself . Those evidence raises alarming questions about whether this privacy invasive practice is standard for all tenants in Houston (though I have not yet make any formal claims on this). If you're living here in SkyHouse or thinking about moving here , please be extremely cautious and careful, this could be happening to many others who have not been observant. It's June, and elevators are still constantly breaking down. The entirety of my lease. Literally as I started writing this as I was waiting for over 10 mins for the one elevator that's working for a 25 floor high-rise to go up to the gym.... I couldn't even finish this paragraph without getting more bad news about this building. The gym is closed. Again. People moved to a high-rise for the convenience it offers and the amenities. The people who work here are friendly and this is not against them but for how much I'm paying, 2,300/month, I expect a functioning building. I don't want people moving here to feel as disappointed and ripped off as I do without being warned. I think everyone who lives here will agree that the rooms are dated, it's over priced, but we're constantly getting bad news. You'd think they'd offer a perk, credit, even a goddamn pizza party to say "our bad" but no. I'll say it one last time... DO NOT MOVE HERE. You have been warned.
