I tried responding back via text and calling but I don't think she is a real person because she simply would never respond back. So, I kept calling the main number and her number several times. I also sent texts to "Melanie". They simply would not pickup the phone or answer my messages. I am in the process of relocating from Chicago to Houston. So, I decided to give an apartment finding company a chance. In Chicago, there are a ton of these services. They actually will pick up the phone on the first ring and meet with you within days (usually the same day). This company not so much. I did end up finding an apartment on my own. It was tough but I did it with no help what so ever.

The quality of this place went from a freaking awesome place to live at grand opening, to a half-way decent place by the time Arium bought it, to a down right ****hole by the time it was sold to Morgan Group. When Morgan first bought this place a couple years ago, they tried to improve the place by throwing a bunch of money at the problems plaguing this place. It worked for a year or two. Then the management people at Morgan cared less and less about running place and the quality of this place has gone down to near ****hole level again. The property manager & the regional manager at Morgan doesn't really care about the tenants at Caroline Uptown West at all. They don't care about fostering a relationship with the tenants or even try to retain long time tenants like myself. They only care about the occupancy rate and charging the tenants as much as possible. My rent have been raised every year since Morgan took over. 90% of the tenants here move out after 1 year and very few stay past the 2 year mark. To my knowledge, I'm the only original tenant left who have been here since opening in 2012. I think there's one other lady who have been here 10 years. Everyone else are fed up with the management and are gone after a short time here. There are always bags of disgusting, horrid smelling trash left in the hallways. The property manager is supposed to walk the property every day and apply fines to any tenant who leave trash in the hallway. But that rarely happens. The security at Caroline Uptown West is non-existent. Anyone can enter the premises simply by waiting at the front gate and follow the tenants into the complex, then into the parking garage as well. There have been so many break-ins, vandalism, theft of wheels of vehicles in the garage that I've lost count. Many of the units have been burglarized as well. The only 2 good things I have to say about this place is that it does have a nice big pool which is fairly well maintained, and the place is in a good location that is close to everything. Caroline Uptown West was a really nice place to live when it first opened as The Ava. Now, this place is just HORRIBLE. There are much better & apartment complexes nearby that are safer and much better value for your money.
