We qualified under their terms and then put our money down for a place. They said we were approved on their end but then the owner came back and disapproved us. They never said on what grounds this decision was based. They did explain that ultimately, the owner decides. Then, Keith worked diligently with me to include texting and calling me back late in the evenings to accommodate seeing the other properties until we finally found one. What I don't understand is the following: Why requests to see a property like some others on Zillow do not have appointments we can schedule ourselves on availability. Why they wont let us put our deposit down on a home we have not seen if we know we want that home. Its cash money people haha. Lastly, when we finally found a place we wanted. they sent our documents via email which is great. I wanted to clarify something in the lease in writing but the docusign does not allow that. Since we are 2 signers, they would not accept a pdf with the added language. I was finally able to get something via email confirmation to the lease and use docusign. Another issue we had was that the home did not have a garbage disposal. They said the owner would not allow us to put one in and pay for any maintenance. Not sure why?? Makes no sense to me. These should be negotiable items. So far, I found the ladies in the office to be very pleasant. That's definitely a feather in their cap. Will update once we move in and state whether the carpets were cleaned well and the minor fixes were done.

Notified the office that I was moving and they told me I would still have to pay for a 60 day notice which I did. Then they kept my entire security deposit and sent me a bill for almost $1000 for the most ridiculous list of things like cleaning the ceiling fan (there was only one), sweeping the garage, fixing a microwave door handle (for over $150) and stovetop burner - which wasn't broken when i moved out. Suffice to say, I spent 8 hours on the last day in my empty townhouse cleaning! Do yourself a favor and don't rent from this big corporation of disgruntled employees who don't care about anything or anyone. Look into a small town group like Hostetter Realty (great group) or a private homeowner.

Hospital and groceries are within walking distance. I lived in a townhouse apartment with hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances. Great views from the balcony, large laundry room with storage, and laminate wood floors.

The buildings and grounds are properly maintained. Snow got plowed in a timely fashion and our walkway was shoveled when it snowed. We never heard our neighbors on either side of us. We saw no evidence of drug use or of drug dealers, as was suggested in another review. Requiring renters insurance is fairly common, particularly in larger communities like Newport Commons. It protects both the renter and the community, and honestly, it's not all that expensive. When we moved on to be closer to family, Newport Commons dinged us for some of the wear and tear on the townhouse. It was what we expected and we had no problem with it. Without any hassle, we got the major portion of our security deposit returned. We felt we were treated fairly. I honestly don't understand the negative reviews. My experience in business, in general, is if you take a combative, abrasive, and adversarial approach to a business deal (and renting is a business deal) you generally find yourself on the wrong side of company policy. On the other hand, if you take an approach that signals a willingness to work together, your business partner generally will do the same and work with you to resolve any issues, looking for ways to work around policy whenever possible. Ninety percent of the time, your attitude will determine how forcefully company policy is applied.

The administrative staff is on top of any issues and the social workers are diligent in helping find solutions. I can't say enough about the quality of the food provided to my father who is a picky eater. It was delicious and gave him a wide range of choices. Under very stressful circumstances during the pandemic the all worked with us so we could have tele visits with Dad as well as window visits and gave us the peace of mind to be able to see him even through a window. The entire community was kind and exceptionally considerate through a hard year.

As we got closer to evening Dwayne advised that he was going to get a hotel and arrive to the house in Alabama in the morning. We arrived to the house at 9am and no call, text, or email from Dwayne. We went to get breakfast still no call, text,or email. I called while at breakfast and was told by Dwayne that the helpers woke up late and they will be at the house by 12pm. Upon their arrival at 2pm (5 hours late), Dwayne called and advised they were at the house and decided to unload the truck in the driveway. As we pulled up to the house from picking up cleaning supplies and water for the guys we noticed our stuff on the driveway like it was a garage sale or something. It was so unprofessional and disappointing to see. Then, after they moved the things into the house Dwayne seemed frustrated and annoyed when I asked about him installing the TV's and assembly of the beds which was part of the agreement. He proceeded to install the bed and TV's. He seemed to struggle to install a TV wall mount and TV on the wall. Then, I went out to the hardware store to pick up more proper screws for the TV mount. Not sure what he did with the screws he removed in Manchester for the same mount. All the screws were packed and labled to make the installations smooth. But while I was gone he assembled 1 queen frame and a twin futon. When I came back they placed the TV on the wall and I looked at everything that wasn't till wrapped in plastic. They brought in the final piece of furniture. It was completely destroyed. I told them to leave it in the Garage. He decided to leave it right at the entrance of the garage door. So I had to move it to the side wall myself. He said it was fixable and its not. We went to sleep woke up the next morning sat back on the bed and the bed shifted with a loud bang. Noticed that the bed wasn't properly assembled screws missing and loose. I immediately checked everything. The twin bed was missing screws and shifting left and right. My antique coffee table was scuffed in mutiple places, dinning table scuffed, dressers scuffed, bed frame chipped and scuffed, some China plates cracked and destroyed, desk missing a part, screws checked and noticed screws were loosened and had to be tightened and the motor bar was disconnected, computer monitor mount was chipped like it was dropped on the ground. I was emailed by Dwayne to sent photos was told by email that they did their best and I would be fully compensated. I'm still waiting.
