Well, in doing my research I discovered a new 4 pound foam system that works better than mud jacking. In my opinion it gives the operator better control and feel over the lifting and filling of the void under the concrete. Then I found Concrete Raising Systems. I am so GLAD I did!!!! Ken and Jason showed up on time and did an amazing job! My steps had been piered at some point so they did not want to raise easily. I think that is an understatement LOL. At 3.5 hours into a "about 2 hours" job the steps had only moved about half way to where we wanted them. I was getting nervous this was going to cost more than bid so I said "that's better than it was. It will probably be good enough." Jason was not satisfied and Ken reassured me than the bid price was still on target. So 4.5 hours later we have a perfectly level raised set up steps ready for their new home owners. Ford put a smear of concrete on the wall, didn't seal the crack he was contracted to repair, and then left it to reopen shortly after. He "promised" (liar) to return and make the necessary repairs to correct the cracks properly, make arrangements to return and then ghosted us after several weeks off trying to reach him. They were professional and did a good job, but over that winter, something happened and the leak started back up again the following spring. They came out and did more sealing around the furnace exhaust pipe and that fixed it. There was no extra charge for coming back. The second leak in my mobile home roof they were able to repair easily in a few minutes. We have had no other leaking in either spot. Ryan has been great to work with in figuring out the problems and what needed to be done. He has been honest and helpful and has explained the what's and why's to fix the problem areas. In the work they have done for me, Ryan shows he cares about doing jobs right, not just put a bandaid on the problem, especially when the problem was created by the things not put down right in the first place by someone else.

After recent storms I asked them to come back. It was a different salesman this time. Again, the roof was in good shape except a few shingles were raised because of wind. There is a $450 minimum glue them down. They said they would do the repair and check for any other damage while on the roof. When they came about 3 weeks later, the worker was on the roof less than 20 minutes. It didn't look to me that any repair had been done. My contact called me back 2 days later and said the worker didn't think there was any wind damage, but did a little caulking and nailed a few nails down to make it worth the minimum charge. I didn't think that was a lot of work for $450. He said he could lower the bill to $350. I said that still seemed high for less than 20 minutes work. He got a little huffy with me and said it was dangerous work and there was driving time involved. I suggested the worker should have called him and maybe do nothing. Then he insisted I tell him how much I thought the job was worth. I wasn't interested in playing that game. He finally asked if I thought it was worth $300? By that time I was done with him and the company. I mailed my check and addressed the envelope to the owner of the company, hoping I might get some further explanation about what happened. I don't usually do negative reviews, but when my check cleared 3 days later and I never heard from the owner, I decided I would let other people know. I will not use this company in the future.

I had someone on my roof who was screening off areas where critters could access our attic and they told me that flat roof needed to be replaced, sooner than later. I contacted several companies recommended by people on the Nextdoor app. One company came out to give me a quote but never returned my calls. Another company told me they were only doing roof replacements. I appreciated their honesty. I was very specific when I called roofing companies; I didn't need a new roof. One guy came out and told me he could contact my insurance company and tell them my roof had been damaged from a storm. We'd not had any damage to our roof from storms and that's bordering on insurance fraud. I decided to check out Yelp recommendations and saw that Easton had a lot of good reviews. When I called, they were very nice and told me they'd send someone out. The guys from Easton were there on time and they gave me an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable so I called to schedule the repair. The workers were very nice, professional, timely and they were there everyday until it was finished. They cleaned up after the repair so I wasn't finding random pieces of roofing material. Everyone, from the woman who answered the phone to the guys who did the repair was very nice and the whole process was seamless. Easton completed the repair and after years of checking ceilings, I can finally relax. Another contractor I'd used to remodel our house often needed access to the roof. I didn't ask him to check the flat roof but while he was up there, he wanted to check it out. He assured me they'd done a very good job and then asked for their info so he'd have the name of a good roofing company if one of his clients was looking to replace their roof. When an outstanding contractor is impressed with the work done by another company and asking for the company's info, that says a lot. If we have to replace our roof, we'll definitely use Easton and if anyone needs a roof replacement or repair, I highly recommend them. They've earned those 5 star reviews.

Jon from JLB Foundation Repair and Basement Waterproofing gave us a straightforward honest assessment and didn't push unnecessary extras. We went with helical piers to lift and stabilize the foundation plus a full waterproofing package with interior drains and better exterior grading. Marcus led the crew and Bill made sure the whole project ran smoothly from start to finish. The work took a little over a week and they protected our landscaping as much as possible. It's been over a year and the house is level, the cracks have stopped progressing, and we haven't had a single drop of water in the basement since. They were able to come out same week, did the inspection and showed us where the leak was happening, but also where our roof had taken hail damage and suggested we contact our insurance to see what coverage we could get from them. They also came out the day the insurance adjuster came out so they could answer any questions or provide any further information, which was nice. When it was time to schedule our roof replacement, I was worried about the time frame as they were having a busy season and my parents were coming to stay with us in a few weeks. However they found a time for us just before my parents trip and had the roof off and replaced in 1 day. This also included replacing the old 80s skylights we had with the modern versions. They came back next day to do a quick walk through and check for any straggling nails etc in our lawn/around the outside of the house. I think (despite insurance not really helping us - which is not Innovatives fault at all) we were given a good deal. The shingles they used were the highest quality rated for hail and impact resistant. We got to pick from quite a few options of shingle color and it came out great. My only tiny critique is that the person who originally came to do the inspection seemed to not want to talk to me (I was the only one available to be home that day) and would make comments about "letting my husband know" and when he came back on the day of the insurance adjuster he literally only talked to my husband. It might not have been done consciously, but it made me feel excluded from the decision making.
