It is always a pleasure to visit Apenberry's Garden. They are the most welcoming team. They have great quality plant selection. The space is much larger than first realized. There is ah indoor space for inside plant parents and an outdoor space that spans far back to shaded areas. They sell items typically challenging to find. If you're a fairy garden builder, terrariums or just a butterfly garden lover, come here. Not only plants, but fertilizers both organic and synthetic, soil and soil amendments, plant accessories etc. Such affordable prices. Over the years, most items I've purchased have done well. We visited this nursery for the first time and absolutely loved it. The staff was so helpful and even offered to load everything into my car since I was with my daughter. Apenberry's was a very nice garden shop with SUPER friendly and attentive staff. I especially liked how they let me browse without hovering but were available for questions as I needed. I was stuck between two philodendrons and ended up with the pink princess but it he black gold was also lovely. The plants here are well cared for so while a little pricey for some of the more exotic plants you'll get a healthy plant that's sure to last. The variety is good. I was hoping for some smaller versions of some rare plants but the smallest I found was 4" pots around 32 for both the philos I was choosing between. Still a good price for specialty plants. The staff was knowledgeable about care for the plants and didn't try to upsell a thing. All in all a good experience! read more

As noted in my review last year, my lawn service recommended Apenberry's for grass plugs. Based on my experience the first time, I returned four more times to get both indoor and outdoor plants as well as additional grass plugs. I stopped by again this week to get some perennials that would survive the Florida summer. (I'm originally from the MIdwest so I needed helpful guidance from their experienced personnel.) I was greeted by Deborah as she saw me exploring the various plants on the property. I pointed out some of my selections and she helped me determine which would best fit my needs. We discussed various "Florida friendly" plants as she called them, and I purchased several items based the excellent pricing and her input. I also went to look at their indoor plant selection given I had great success with my previous purchases from here. I again was assisted by Natalie. Last year, she helped me decide on the succulents I acquired. I complimented her on her suggestion to use a spray bottle to lightly water the soil once a week and stated that both plants were thriving. This time, we discussed the lighting of the room where my purchase would reside, and she concurred it would definitely work in that location. Finally, I appreciate how the representatives walk you to your car and bring along paper to place inside the vehicle to prevent any spillage or mess. read more

My husband and I popped in on a whim and I'm so glad that we did! We were greeted by such friendly staff members Syd in the garden and Amanda in the shop. Syd was VERY knowledgeable on all things garden. She even helped me identify a mystery plant that I've been growing. Turns out it's some type of funky orchid. She showed me around and helped me familiarize myself with several different plants. I couldn't believe how reasonable the prices are! Stopped by for a few gifts. I love the selection, so many plants and pots to choose from! I ended up with a healthy snake plant and a beautiful orchid. The orchids came in a variety of colors white, purple, yellow, pink, and a mix of all of the above. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. They wrapped my plants free of charge because I was purchasing them as gifts. I didn't even know it was possible to wrap a plant but the bags with tissue paper make perfect little presents. Just left Apenberry's. Service has gone down recently...big time! I have been a customer for 3 years, since I moved to the area, but after today no more. Prices have always been on the high side, but service has made up for it. Today I was looking for a shrub and Spanish lavender. They only had a couple of the shrubs, but I need more. Asked if they offered a discount for buying a certain number and was told their prices are already lower than most. Simply said I disagree and she walked off. I went to pay for my lavender and the door inside was closed THREE employees watched me struggle to open the door while pushing the cart and didn't offer assistance. I left my cart and explained why I was leaving and the cashier said "ok, no worries". Glad to know losing my business is "no worries". Never again. I would rather drive a little further to another local small nursery. read more

This place is my new JAAAAM. I stopped here almost by accident .. because I need more plants like I need a hole in my head.. I've been to a gazillion nurseries in my lifetime, but never one like this that has CLEARLY MARKED PRICES ON EVERYTHING!! The aisles are clear and everything is organized. There are no guessing games on pricing, phew!! When I came here in spring they have LOADS of flowers options which I've never really seen anywhere else. So many unique plant options, so of course I had to have some new babies in my life. Overall this place is little but has many unique and well taken care of plants. The customer service is IMPECCABLE. Usually when I go to a nursery people assume I am brainless when it comes to plants.. but you can't tell by looking that my major was biology. I'm capable of keeping a plant alive. I needed help getting a large fiddle leaf tree and the girls working there were on it!! They stopped what they were doing and helped me sort out my plants. No judgements. And they offered incredible info on plant care. Customer service is a huge deal to me, and I believe if a store/ retail/ any place truly has a great business then the employees must seem happy and be able to help their customers to the best of their abilities. This place is on the top of my list!! Pricing is fair. Plant options are plenty. They even offered that if there's nothing I loved, they get a new truckload of plants every week and to come back on Thursday or!! They could call me! Incredible. Second time at this location because my mom wanted to visit. They have all types of plants, and some pots. We're interested in getting as many fruit plants/trees as we can(especially because of the food shortage/increased prices). I felt peaceful walking around this place. I stopped in to Apenberrys this afternoon and I can't believe the poor customer service. It was like the employee was offended that I wanted to change out some plants that I had picked out. The employee said that was all plants that they had for me and then walked off to talk to another employee. She coukd care less about helping customers. I didn't have a lot of outdoor hardscape items. Had a good selection of plants. Just wasn't what I was expecting from what we had back home.

Shannon helped us and she was great. She knew everything about every plant we asked about, gave recommendations for placement and choice, and carefully prepared and loaded the plants for us. I was on this side of town and happened to see Apenberry's. It looked so cute that I had to stop and see what they had. Well, they have a lot! I ended up taking some photos of bees and butterflies (which was glorious!) before realizing that I could use a new Begonia plant. I had a sick one at my front door that wasn't doing great since being overwatered when the storm season was kicking through. Anywho, I had the nicest lady ask if I needed help and told her about my sick Begonia. She asked me questions about watering, soil, the direction of my house ... the works! As we were talking, I realized that she cared about these plants. I LOVE that! After chatting for a few minutes, I picked out a new plant, along with a few others since they are all so beautiful and healthy here, and I was on my way. I spoke with two other staff members during check out and they were just as nice and knowledgeable. I know I'm raving about buying a few plants but geeesh ... it makes a difference buying from a local nursery, with people that seek you out and then ask questions as opposed to visiting a big box store where you are being ignored and they just ring you up. As for the place itself, there was plenty or parking available and it was easy to get to. There is so much too see when you are there so give yourself time to look around unless you absolutely know what you want. There are hidden treasures everywhere ... inside the store and out. Also, pricing was totally competitive with those big box stores I mentioned before. Not only that, Apenberry's plants look to be a better quality and you get the knowledge with it ... so, that actually makes it a better buy! So, its pretty obvious to me that I will be finding more places to plant things. Actually, I already have ... and now I know the right place to go so I'm not killing anymore plants by putting them in the wrong place, watering them incorrectly, etc. I know people who know things now! read more

I'd been looking for a particular rare tropical plant in and around Orlando for quite a few months. It seems every nursery I called or visited were trying to pass off a standard philodendron for the rainforest bottom dwelling plant I'd been hunting! I'd seen some seeds on eBay for 25.00$ a dozen but I wanted a viable plant. The seeds are questionable at best and in addition, these plants are fruit bearing and just like any citrus or apple tree they need to be cloned in order to produce a fruit like the original. Well Meaban at Aspenberry's Nursery on Edgewater Drive in college park was so helpful. She found 3 healthy specimens in big 3 gallon pots ready to be transplanted into bigger pots or outside in some shady area. I love the plant so I that I called and ordered the other two plants! Loved this cute nursery, they have a wide selection of plants for both inside and outside of your home or business. The staff was incredibly helpful and answered all of my questions with care and interest. I never felt I was bothering them! Their prices are fair and equal to that of other nurseries in the area. Especially love getting rarer plants like string of bananas or string of pearls. They also have things like, live ladybugs and organic sprays for gardens that come in very handy. Every person that works there is incredibly knowledgeable about their products and plants. They offer a variety of plants depending on the time of year or availability. This is one of my favorite favorite favorite nurseries in central Florida!! 9/10 times I'm greeted by my favorite plant employee, Tara, by the front door and if not it's someone else. I love the shop because they offer affordable prices on plants and it always looks so nice inside. Great set that's ever changing inside with the display and their greenhouse is something to see too! I'm a shameless plant nut so I like to collect everything I don't already have. I can always find lovely new ones to add to my collection here. Of course their stock is ever changing but I've found some great foliage plants like monstera pothos philodendron or peperomia, edibles, seeds, epiphytic plants like hoyas, carnivorous plants, air plants, succulents, cacti, hanging planters, plant pots, and a good variety of different houseplants. I have lived in College Park for a couple of years and pass Aspenberry's several times a week and finally stopped in. I also thought the place looked super expensive so that is what always prevented me from going in before Man, could I kick myself! This place is not only amazing but the prices are incredible The selection of well cared for plants is the best I have seen and the customer service the best in town I bought several butterfly plants and a bag of ladybugs. Just want to tell you how a good review goes south. 12 years ago i purchased a new build home from a high end builder lock stock and barrel. It came with a vocal point at the main walk way to the front door. A outstanding fountain. After we moved in and before the year warranty ran out our fountain stopped working. Like anything else you call the builder to have it resolved. Like a good builder he took care of it. Now 12 years later we call Apenberry's to have some maintenance done on the fountain. Need to re stain the fountain after 12 years. When we called to have this work priced they said someone would call back in a day or so. Well today we received a call from Eric. Eric starts off by saying there is a bill that has not been taken care of for over 12 years ago. I said to him sorry but back then when we closed and moved in to our home we had a warranty. We called the builder and he took care of the issue. Well Eric was not pleased with my response and said we would need to resolve the bill before they would come out. Well i plainly told him sorry about your luck. If you have not resolved the issue with the builder for 12 years that is your issue not my issue. So beware not a good business motto here. I would think after 12 years this would have been written off by now if he could not resolve with the builder. read more

I was looking desperately for somewhere that sold well taken care of plants and I ended up coming across Apenberry's here on Yelp. I drove and hour to them just to look and see how everything looked and I was blown away. I didn't see a single plant that look neglected or not taken care of right. Every person there asked me if I needed help and where all so knowledgeable and kind. If I had a question they always had an answer or a suggestion if I didn't know what plant to pick. I ended up walking out with a large purchase of plant and they're doing fantastic. They also gave me their card and told me I could call or email if I had any questions or concerns about my plants health. On call plant doctors! If you're looking for somewhere that love and really cares about plants and making sure the plant are as healthy and happy as possible definitely come here.
