This is my favorite garden store! They have a huge selection of flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, and herbs. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to help, they gave me great advice on which herbs were in season and which plants were about to bolt. We came here for a night market and it was pretty small in terms of vendors. They had some light snacks available and the wine for $5 was not bad. I perused the plants, but some were hidden away in darker areas of the market. The selection was nice and the prices were reasonable. I wish the lighting was a little better. Prices are generally very cheap, although the houseplants (not just the rare ones) tended to be more expensive. Of course, they are grown very well and look great. This is a lovely garden center that has pretty much everything you need . Plants, pots, potting material, mulch, decor and more. I drove about 75 miles to get there as I needed a specific mulch and they are the only place I've been able to find it. read more

What a great find! The nursery we typically go to was closed on Sunday, so I did a quick search on Yelp and found Palmer's. I think it's even better than the one we were going to. The parking is a bit limited and sometimes awkward, but the selection of plants/flowers is fantastic. They're all displayed so beautifully. Best of all, the staff was very informative and helpful. Went here last May with bf to find mother's day presents. This place was recommended by a plant-mama-friend. Was luckily able to get a parking spot on the street after someone else just left. If I remember correctly, they had someone handling a sign that gets placed in front of their parking lot when it's full so you don't enter to look for a spot just to end up trapped in. This place is HUGE! I felt like we kept finding new areas to browse through! We stayed for a good while and we probably could have stayed even longer. All the plants were BEAUTIFUL and looked like they were well taken care of. We weren't looking for anything specific, but there were SO MANY OPTIONS of both different AND same types of plants. My first time attending the wine and cheese event in a Thursday, started at 6pm. Wine was $5 and the cheese was free. They had brie cheese and crackers. The evening we visited they had a special on garland with an extra percentage off. I met my girlfriend here and we sat under the big tree there's plenty of seating. It was such a beautiful night with the fire pit on and the only thing missing was s'mores. I look forward to them having other events in the future! Also, they have the most amazing plant selection. I have had this place book marked forever and I finally got a chance to visit on a recent trip to Winter Park. Palmer's has been in business since the 1920's and ever since has been run by multi generations of the same family. The current owners are Allison and Jeff Palmer. If you have ever been to Winter Park you know it is a beautiful city and part of that must owe to plants from Palmers. I got so much inspiration just by walking around. If you can think it up they probably carry it. If not the friendly associates who greeted me and offered their help were eager to find me anything I needed. In addition to plants, flowers, and trees they carry planters, pottery, fountains, table gardens, and decorative items. They will even deliver your items to you. Do you have a brown thumb? They also provide gardening services or you can rent their nursery and hold your event there. If there is one downside to visiting here it is that that their parking lot is very small necessitating some creative street parking. It was all worth it when I walked into their garden wonderland. I love supporting family owned businesses like this rather than the big box stores. If you need the personal touch, this is where to find it. read more

Embarrassed I haven't reviewed Palmer's until now! This is the perfect plant shop. It's a place you can get lost in and spend way too long exploring the spaces, the prices are amazing, they have everything and more, and their plant knowledge is over the top. I always leave with something I couldn't live without-- plus a bit more plant knowledge in my brain. There are so many plant spots in Orlando, but Palmer's is the one I recommend over and over-- they nail it with the experience and selection, and best of all they're never pretentious. The other week, my bf & I decided to check out this nursery while on the way home. It turned out to be one of the best decisions ever because its definitely one of the cutest & most charming nurseries we've ever been to! It has the perfect mix of nursery meets local charm with a sprinkle of whimsicalness. If I could rate Palmer's 10 stars I would! After living in Orlando for over 5 years I've heard nothing but good things of them, and I don't know what's taken me this long to visit. Their indoor/outdoor shop feels like an oasis in the middle of a busy street, with a relaxing and aesthetic atmosphere. Their plant selection varies from common to unique options, all in different themed areas supported by friendly and knowledgeable staff. To top it off they serve sodas and beers that you can sip on and shop during your visit. They also have different events that brings the community together that really make this "small" shop feel larger than life. Do not buy their milkweed. Let me start by saying I enjoy this business a lot and the staff are always friendly. But recently I saw they were selling milkweed, and it looked like tropical milkweed; which is a highly invasive species in FL and does not die back in winter like our native milkweeds. This causes monarchs to not migrate to mexico and also increases their risk of a fatal disease from O.E. I asked one of the staff if this was tropical milkweed and I wanted to be sure Im not buying an invasive and harmful plant. They said "No this is scarlet milkweed, not the same thing". Turns out scarlet milkweed is just another common name for Asclepias currassavica: Tropical Milkweed. I still give it 3 stars because it's a very good shop, but if you're looking for plants to help monarch butterflies, just make the drive and go with a native plant nursery like Green Isle Gardens in Clermont or Native Butterfly Flowers in Melbourne (Asclepias incarnata or swamp milkweed being a great choice for pots). read more

Plant nursery wonderland. Palmer's set-up is so beautifully arranged, that it feels like a botanical garden. The attention to detail is clear as the plants are not displayed in a generic way but in a way that helps customers envision how a garden makes you feel at peace. Caution to mosquito-prone people: Put on bug spray!! The nursery is tidy, but due to the water, of course mosquitos will be around. Ironically, I bought an indoor plant, Bird's Nest Fern for $13 which was outside under a covered roof. I believe I saw a philodendron too but figured starting with the fern first. I leave out one star as the associates seemed preoccupied, not asking if I need help finding something or had questions. I understand some customers want to be left alone, but by standard it's still good to acknowledge and engage with the customer. Not sure if they were busy with others though. The cashiers were friendly however. I asked if the fern would be okay in my car for few hours but the cashier / associate offered a bag suggesting that I carry it around because it will not survive in the heat. Overall, still a wonderful store. Remember to wear that bug spray!!! My legs were awfully bit. Dang you mosquitos! read more

Due to quarantine I figured I needed to get some plants to liven my apartment. I went into Palmer's to get a hanging plant for my balcony and a few little succulents for inside. I was absolutely clueless on where to even begin. If you've never been to Palmer's be prepared to be overwhelmed by a ton of beautiful plants. It's much bigger than it looks with a large variety of plants. Erica was SO helpful and patient with me as I asked a million questions. She was so knowledgeable and helped me pick out a nice spider plant for my balcony. She educated me on how it would grow and when to water it. She even put it in the hanging pot for me! I stopped by yesterday for my first time to buy some Nelson roses. Since there are very few retailers for this type of rose I had to drive 30 miles to Palmers. I was shocked to see how poorly the roses looked. They were neglected to the point of full of disease black spot, no blooms on any of them and never dead headed. I asked if this was the selection and the man said yes. I walked further around and noticed a electrical conduit partially snapped off in the paver walkway sitting in standing water. It doesn't matter if it is high voltage or low voltage... this is a hazard.. This place needs help and there is no reason for this to happen when times are slow. I will not be returning!
