I met Larry Roberts about a year before it was time for my daughter to start driving. He spoke at a group event, promoting his driver's education classes. I held onto that brochure up until it was time and as soon as she got her permit, I called to try to get her in. Unfortunately, it's not the Boone Driving School. They actually have to already have their license and have some sense of driving experience in order to attend this education course. In five days they teach them how to recognize dangers of driving. The training includes classroom instruction, use of driving simulators, and driving on a 3 1/2-acre driving pad under the supervision of certified instructors. My daughter absolutely loved her instructors. One was a retired police officer. He and all of the others that met seemed to genuinely love teaching these kids. The cost is currently $400 for 20 hours of instruction. The cars, also called Skid Monsters are provided by Toyota On Nicholasville. They provide 11 cars per year to the program. There are several other corporate sponsors too. So, the $400 price isn't the true value of what it's worth.

We scheduled my son for an hour and would see how he liked it and schedule more time if needed. The driver was an older man who arrived promptly at 5PM. He asked my son a few questions and then myself. My son is nervous and had approx 10 hours of driving (this was explained at the time of registration). They loaded up in the car and left. Then I see them circle the block. Then again and again. My son literally drove around my block and in my neighborhood only. Not once did he head out of our neighborhood. After the hour they pulled back into the driveway my son got out of the car and I got up to go outside. The instructor had already backed out of our driveway and was leaving. No overview of how it went. Nothing. I asked my son where did he go. He said around the block. I asked if he parked for him. He said no. How about backing up? Nope. He said he turned right allot. I am very disappointed in how unprofessional the instructor was. You'd think he would have at least walked my son to the door and gave us a synopsis of his skills. All in all I wasted $66.

And she apparently doesn't know it to assist the students and her availability to help students? Immediately after class. You have another class? Too bad for you. My professor for the other Physics class however is top notch. Tech is in a basement. Make that make sense. Student Career was empty and the entire university seems to be run by students. Which is not very well run. I'm not sure I'll continue with this school unless they can prove themselves, but they leave a lot to be desired; TEACHING to start with.
