I found them on Google and contacted them for engraving services. Highly recommend!!! They also can engrave in Korean! *Their office is closed on weekend. CASH only! But their invoice does says checks are okay* Roughly about 1 week turn around time. They said 3-5 business days depending on their schedule. Tip #1: after emailing, please call to confirm they are aware as sometimes the emails get lost in their junk folder. Send photo and description of what you watch with your full name/contact information. Tip #2: their reply email may also get lost in your junk folder- so please check for their reply and invoice there. I was looking for engraving service as I have a personal item where the words was worn off (it wasn't really engraved but printed on). They were very helpful and we arranged for me to come in to bring the item and explained what I wanted. They are a 2-people team; the lady answered the phone/emailed was different from the man I met in person. To make it easier on them, I had printed out the email with the photos and what I wanted engrave with my contact information when I came to drop off my item. I had emailed them before Christmas and then called at the end of the first week of January. I went last week Wednesday after work to drop off them item and discussed the wording. He said that by Friday there should be proof and then by next Wenesda it should be ready. He gave 1 week estimate turn around. They sent me a proof in email the next day but I didn't see it over the holiday weekend until I was back at the office. I promptly checked for wording, spelling and such and approved. I came today to pick up my item and was happy with the service. It was faster than expected. Overall amazing experience. The gentleman at the office showed me different examples of font, sizing, coloring and such so tha I would be aware of all options and how it would look. I decided against any color (but I did wish they have white as originally my dogtag was in white) but the had grey and black color only. Item: Dog Tag Worn out from just regular wear/tear from 19yrs ago. Received this in 2004 for my 16th birthday from my best friend. The man thought something happened to cause the wording to fade but it was just regular wear around the neck everyday for a few months. Maybe he thought it was engraved? It looked like it is slightly engraved with white color ink printed over but when you feel it, you can tell it's not engraved. See photos of before and after. read more

They always get the job done, this is the only place I go for engraving. The location isn't the most convenient, but it's well worth making a trip. I've gotten about five or six things in graved here, including two for fascimiles of bench plaques I gave for my wife's 40th birthday in Washington Square, Park. They did them in a timely manner and the reproductions looked exactly like the originals! Not to mention how personable, friendly, and professional they are... I struggle to leave a bad review for anything but I want to save anyone the future trouble if they have the same experience as me. I purchased an engraved flask to give as a birthday gift. My first issue is that the service they provided me is not at all what I pictured as "engraving" - I was expecting the text to be carved into the object (so that if you run your finger over it, you feel the indent). Instead it's more like a printing (like laser printing, maybe?) on top of the object, which looks/feels cheaper to me. I would not have paid $100 for the service if I knew this was the quality. My next issue is that the printing they gave me had a smudge on the letter (see photo attached). The smudge would not happen if it was true engraving, since there would be no ink to smudge. I could not justify spending $100 to gift someone a smudged item, so after 20 minutes of back and forth they agreed to redo it. Thank goodness there was another item available! I could not imagine if this was a one-of-a-kind item and they didn't get it right on the first try. When I came back to pick up the second version, it was engraved in pink ink (???). I did not request this and it did not match everything they had shown me in the proofs. I was honestly shocked and so confused about how to proceed, since they had now redone the item twice and both times there was an issue. They did not offer me any refund or discount or any type of customer service. I've attached photos of both of the issues. I am really disappointed I paid so much money for a birthday gift I am embarrassed to deliver to the recipient. read more

This review is well overdue but much deserved. First of all if you're still deciding between engravers--Stop! This is the choice right here!!! I needed four picture frames engraved last minute. I called Jane and met with her about 30 mins after. She explained everything thoroughly. She quoted me a price which was significantly different from what I had paid at Things Remembered in the past for similar jobs. Looking back I am sorry I insulted her by comparing her work to Things Remembered because the quality from Apex was 10x better. Nevertheless, I was sent a composite sample later that evening as promised. Any concerns I had were promptly addressed. Two days later I picked up the most beautiful,perfectly, flawlessly engraved wooden picture frames. It looked natural as though they came that way. Much more satisfied with this product than the amateur engravings I've received in the past. Needles to say my expectations had been exceeded and customer service was superior. This place is astoundingly good. I brought in a tiny nameplate to be engraved at (of course) the last minute. A tiny job so I was pretty worried it was too small to matter. They rearranged their jobs to rush it for me, were totally knowledgable about fonts and what might work best, sent me proofs, and when I was late (of course) to pick it up on a Friday before a holiday weekend, they stayed open till I got there. And when I got there gave me two nameplates, bc the one I brought was crap and didn't look great. This all for a $15 job. The customer service here is perfection. Incredibly helpful!! I had to engrave two bottles of champagne in under 48 hours. On my phone call, they were kind enough to tell me in advance which brand and which type among the brand (Moet Brut and Moet Rose) is best for engraving. I went in store to drop off the bottles and decide on messaging. They emailed me only two hour later with several e-samples of my messaging on both types of bottles in different fonts, sizing and spacing! I felt very confident that the bottles would turn out beautiful and they did. Picked up the bottles the next day. Note that you have to BRING the bottle, though they have other items they can engrave in store. I actually like this option because you can visit wholesale liquor to bring down overall price. Apex was very quick and their service is very professional however I think it is extremely overpriced. I had a bottle of bourbon engraved for my fiancé for our 5year anniversary- for 8 words I was charged $80+ $10 next day fee- totally $97 with tax. While I think apex did a good job- a similar job would have been done at things remembered for a fraction of the price. Unfortunately there is not a things remembered in New York so I did not have another choice but I definitely will not be returning here- despite the nice work, I don't think it justifies such a high price point. read more

If I could give this place a zero rating I would. We had a celebrity design that needed to be engraved within 2 days. Their website says "same day service" and I was willing to pay a premium for 1 day service. The lady on the phone was nice but told me they had a larger job than mine and would not be able to accommodate me at any price. They told me it would take up to 6 weeks which is totally unacceptable. I asked them if there was anything they could do and the answer was "NO". I asked them if they could refer me to someone else and they told me to look for another engraver online. I will never give them my business as obviously their website has false advertising about 1 day rush service. Since I was a new customer, they blew it completely! I don't like companies who do not offer the services they advertise or make me feel insignificant because I don't have a large order. I would never treat my customers or potential customers like this. read more
