Our funeral director Tonya caused issues with the arrangements from the beginning. After the service information was confirmed with her and family members and that information was distributed to family and friends, she continued to make changes that caused distress and anxiety. She continued to talk to people outside of the family after getting permission to speak to two people and then got the arrangements wrong. She didn't explain to family what would occur during the viewing and then pressured family members to use a third party to pay for the service. She also changed the times for flowers to be delivered causing people to not order. Family members spent a lot of money and time to travel for this service, only to be accused of mistakes and changes to the service that Tonya made later. My family was very upset. read more

My dealings with Apex Funeral home have been limited to those of supporting the family of a co-worker. If this experience was any indication of AFH's direct interactions with the family, than they do their job well. They should. If they can't, then they're not in the right business, especially at a difficult time and in a difficult situation made more so when happening during the holidays. The parking here can be a challenge when there are a lot of visitors. It's an oddly shaped lot. If there's a crowd, expect to park on the neighborhood streets somewhere. As you walk up to the door, there's either a picture or the name of the person or both on the door to ensure it's the right entrance. That's a thoughtful addition. The team worked behind the scenes and out in the open -- there to give support and direction for questions, keeping the process flowing and still remaining unobtrusively in the background. read more

Joel and his team went above and beyond with making this difficult situation as streamlined and comfortable as possible. Throughout every single step of the process, Joel provided exceptional assistance and guidance, with a calm nature and supportive energy. The individual that my parents had originally spoken with was no longer working for the company, so Joel was extremely generous with his time in tracking down our original agreement and making any adjustments necessary. I always called her "My Good-Lookin' Ma-in-Law", but in recent days, she didn't exactly fit the description.  She was a lovely lady, always well dressed and beautiful.  Her appearance was important to her, but at 96 and a stroke her beauty had faded.  However, I knew she could look good again, so I told the folks at Apex Funeral Home to make her gorgeous.  They said, never fear, "Miss Diane" will make her pretty.  I've never met "Miss Diane", but she's a miracle worker.  My Ma-in-Law was stunningly beautiful again.  She would have been so pleased.  "Miss Diane" and the Apex Funeral Home will never know the comfort and support this ministry service gives to the family.  It's so good to see our loved ones looking whole again.  Thanks, "Miss Diane" and Apex Funeral Home for your caring attention to detail.  I hope you get to "work" on me, some day. read more

Was very disappointed in what we experienced this past week for my cousin's funeral. At the conclusion of the open casket calling hours, we sat there as a family and had to "figure it out" and ended up[ closing the casket ourselves. There was no director anywhere to be found and it made for an awfully awkward situation while the new widow and 8 children sat there unsure how to proceed. His brother closed the casket. The appearance of the deceased was quite bad as well, and I have seen makeup etc done to a much higher standard. The funeral was mess as well, no one knew were to sit after bringing the casket up, and the procession afterwards had folks in the line almost hit at intersections because there was no one holding the intersections and the lead car sped away very fast. Overall very poor experience and I feel very bad for the family in their most difficult time. read more

We came in knowing nothing about how to plan a funeral and what was involved but they graciously guided us throughout the entire process and I couldn't be any more thankful.
