I used Apex out of Franklin, Tennessee, but it does not matter because I would not be surprised if the movers worked out of Franklin and Antioch. In 2020, I moved from Nashville to California; it was the worst experience I could have had. As one writer wrote, the front office ladies were nice, but my experience was horrible after that. Although I wrote a review about Apex, in 2021, however every time I realize that more of my belongings were stolen from this company, I must warn people about this Company. The truck and four men came to load my things from my home around 8:00 am, and they did not finish until 8:00 pm. I had about 85% of my things already boxed and packed. So, it took them 12 hours to load up and finish up a little packing that was left. I am not sure why it took so long other than to get paid on the "clock." longer, which was a true inconvenience for me. Next, because there was no truck to come out to California until a few days later, my things were stored on a trailer until the driver was driving to California. So, my belongings had plenty of time for someone to go through them and pick out what they wanted, and that's exactly what happened. I don't know if my belongings were stolen as they were packing or while it was in the trailer to be driven out to California. After my furniture and clothes arrived, I noticed my dining room table was damaged, my son's digital game, roller skates, clothes, my son's kids' bible, bedding (comforter) from my son's room, my son's Build-a-Bear, and other valuables were stolen. There was only one man in my son's room packing up the last little bit of his things that were left, and to my surprise later, many of my son's things were stolen. It hurts my heart so badly. Even a little sweater that my son wore as a baby was stolen, which was dear to me. Having to make a big move across the country is already stressful enough, and to realize even years later that more of my valuables than I originally thought were stolen. I filed a claim with the company, and it took some time to get reimbursed for my missing valuables and damaged furniture; however, I still realize many other things were taken. I would not use this company at all. I will keep warning people from my experience because it is terrible when these packers or company owners take your precious valuables. It is so devastating! I am not happy with how they scam you out of more money. As I see it they work two different angles. The agent quotes you a number way above where it should be saying it's just an estimate and that they'd rather shoot high so when the final numbers come in it will likely not be over. Knowing clearly my little move would not take 5 hours, I still accepted the offer. I've had much larger moves that didn't take that much time. Then, they add their estimated materials into those numbers. I asked for a breakdown of what those materials were and my representative said boxes for my electronics which I told him that they aren't taking any of my electronics. He said they'd take it off on the back end. The other angle: the movers. What ends up happening is the movers take that "over the top" estimated time and stretch it out as long as they can. Ultimately there is NO WAY my tiny move needed to take 5 hours but that is what they stretched it out to be. The company / agent charged me the full amount, no questions asked. I had to file a complaint and the only reason I am giving them two stars instead of zero is because they did the right thing and adjusted my final amount after I submitted a complaint. We just used these guys to pack and move us and we are very unhappy. First of all they left a ton of stuff at the old house. Our entire linen closet was untouched, like they just forgot about it. One of the bathroom's shelving didn't get packed. And on and on. The head mover was loud and obnoxious. Constantly berating the other mover who was at least a nice guy. But they made multiple mistakes. They put things in the wrong rooms, we had multiple items broken. In one of the wardrobe boxes that I just hung up the clothes from - I was about to throw it away when I noticed all of my ties and belts thrown in the bottom of the box all wrinkled up. So annoying. They talked down to my wife. Once they got our money they stopped returning our calls. I'm really disappointed. This is my first negative yelp review. One of the worst companies I've worked with. I am moving from CO to OH and after careful reviews and consideration, I decided to go with APEX. Not only did the company take a substantial amount of time to move the few items I had, but they underestimated my quote by 70%. I was charged well over an additional $1,000 during the process, and they were not even able to take all of my items. Intially, every item seemed to be accounted for, but it was clear at the end that the broker did everything he could to profit only himself. When speaking to the co-owner, Sam, he was unprofessional and unapologetic that the company forced my hand into paying 70% MORE than initially quoted. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! read more

I used this company 2 years ago to move my belongings and store them for about 6 months while I was relocating. They may do well on total house moves, but coordinating the packing for a split household was a nightmare tho I went through and had things placed in corners and specific cabinets with yellow sticky notes on them, I still had to go behind the packers and ask them to pack things they'd missed.I found out during unpacking they'd also packed several things they shouldn't have. It was several months after delivery before me and the person who stayed in the house were able to get everything shipped back and forth to each other. Considering some of these things were heavy floor lamps, you can imagine the additional cost and frustration. Coordinating their delivery to TX was also nightmarish. We had one date arranged, then they changed it to a week I was traveling and they threatened to not deliver my goods for 2 months unless I changed my plans. I changed my plans, then they wanted to deliver everything the week of my revised travel plans!! Once we had a plan established, there were several more changes with the transporters due to poorly scheduled shuttles to them while they were en route, their wanting to visit family on their way to my city, and their ignoring explicit directions on how to get to my storage unit. The delivery men arrived hung over and were irritable with my wanting to inventory all the boxes to make sure everything arrived, as I'd been instructed to do. They also became impatient when I insisted on inspecting the expensive items and documenting the damages. I have fine furniture and antiques that came to me with scratches and dents because it had not been wrapped in blankets. I had leather furniture that arrived with holes and gashes because it had not been protecte. My aluminum patio furniture arrived with scratches also. Incredible. I did purchase insurance, but was unable to find the paperwork or interpret it sufficiently to file a claim in the 6 months available to do so. I also found the person who sold me this service was largely unavailable during the delivery and complaints process, though his assistant did try to compensate for his absence. I have moved with movers 12-13 times including 9 interstate moves. While I've had challenges with things being lost or damaged, this is the first time I've had a company that is unwilling to compensate me for the fair value of the items they've lost/damaged. It is also the first time that I've reached out repeatedly with no response whatsoever. Upon arrival at my apartment, I was excited to see that they were putting stickers with bar codes on my belongings. I asked the foreman if everything would be documented electronically. He let me know that he "had not been trained on the iPad" so my move would be conducted manually with a handwritten item sheet and punch sheet. This was not a big deal as all of my previous moves were conducted this way. At delivery at my new apartment, the movers began moving items in without providing me with a punch sheet. I had to ask 3 times for a punch sheet with one of the movers stating "not everyone wants one". I only received the punch sheet after calling my move coordinator in TN. The foreman complained that he prefers electronic moves - I am sure he does, but it's his company that put him in the position of dealing with a manual move by not training the guys that loaded my items in TN. Thank god I asked for the sheet, as there were 9 missing items on the punch sheet. Additionally, MANY of my items were damaged or lost. At load-in, they flipped my chaise lounge (part of a sectional sofa) so roughly that we heard the wooden frame crack. I had two industrial garment racks that they disassembled and lost literally 25 pieces. Between the two, there are not even enough pieces to assemble 1, so they are now both useless and in a pile on the floor of my apartment (they say you can't get rid of anything until you reach a settlement). They also handed me a bag of 15 large, black screws that "belong to my order but they are not sure which piece of furniture they belong in". To this day, we do not know what the screws are for...so, I either have a piece of furniture that is not assembled securely or one of their other clients is missing all of the screws to something they own. My bike, which was ridden maybe 5-6 times arrived with two flat tires and a gear shaft hanging off of it, yet they don't want to compensate me at all to get the bike fixed (proposed settlement for the bike is $0). I had a newly purchased wicker loveseat on my patio that was 4 months old and arrived wobbly and crooked - they conveniently did not even address this broken item on the supposed "settlement" they offered. Upon pointing out to them that several of the items cannot be fixed for the amount they offered (for example, they seem to think I can have the chaise that is a part of a sectional re-upholstered and the wooden frame fixed for $200) and that some items were altogether ignored on the settlement sheet (despite a repairmen coming to my apartment a month ago to inspect the damage), they completely disregarded my reply. Three e-mails went unanswered. When they finally did reply, they said they'd look into it, yet I still have nothing more from them. I opened a formal claim with the BBB and the BBB advised that they've now twice tried reaching out and that Apex has not even returned their messages. If all of this is not bad enough, my garment boxes arrived in deplorable condition and instead of taking accountability, they told me it was because I bought "cheap Home Depot boxes". I spent nearly $500 on new boxes for this move. One of the delivery guys literally said F-You to me regarding my commenting on the deplorable condition of the boxes as they were being brought in. I told the foremen, yet he allowed the guy who cursed at me to remain on the job site the rest of the day coming in and out of my apartment continuously making snide remarks. I paid for my move 100% up front and hoped for a seamless, professional experience. Unfortunately, that is not what I got. UPDATE: After contacting the BBB in the location of their parent company, Atlas Van Lines in Evansville, IN, I finally received a response and updated settlement letter. read more

When thinking about an appropriate review, I thought it would be important to separate my thoughts into two parts. My first interaction was with the front office folks. They were certainly nice and professionally. However, I felt like I was nickeled and dimed on quite a few hidden fees and verbal commitments that weren't followed through with. My recommendation would be to be very careful about specific arrangements you're making with them, and to not expect your estimates to be in that general ball park. The next piece is the movers. They were overall professional, and definitely had an art to their skill of packing. I was impressed. The drivers were responsive and accommodating as needed. If I were to move again, I would likely put my money towards another company. It would be interesting to see how they compare. read more

This company was one of the worst I've ever had to use and we have moved several times. I won't even get into the details to much but I will warn you that they are a bait and switch company and they lie to you just to get you a low ball quote so they can double and /or triple it on pick up date when you are most vulnerable. If I could give them a half a star I would but that option isn't available. Soon as they got my deposit they went "poof" into thin air. My stuff was picked up the 6th of January and I still haven't received anything of mine. They sent me a few boxes and a trampoline of someone else's and a bar stool which is all I have to sit on :( I've been on an air mattress for months and I have a bar stool to sit and look out the window cause they have my t.v.s and all my other stuff. We used this company about 7 years ago and they did a decent job, but we just used them again and we were very unhappy with the move. It was only a 3 mile move, but we had many things broken, scratched, dented. They put boxes in the wrong rooms so we had to lug boxes up and down the stairs. They wrapped tupperware in a ton of paper, but breakables were just lying there with barely any protection. Things were put together in boxes that did not belong together, and things from different rooms were in one box. I still can't find many items, including some valuable and important papers. I specifically told them not to pack certain things, that I would do it, and they still did. I would not use this company again and would not recommend them. read more

WARNING: Totally misleading. Came to give an estimate. Told us the final payment would not exceed 110% of the estimated weight/cost. In the end, we were 1500 lbs above the estimate. They then tried to charge us more and said we signed a non-binding estimate therefore we must pay the full amount of the weight in the end. We are paying the total cost in the end as we signed paperwork but VERY disappointed to learn all of this on our drive to our new home out of state and with them having our belongings in their possession. Furthermore, they used our boxes as sleds down the stairs and crushed our boxes. Also, movers left trash in our yard. All around, unprofessional. Recommend using someone else. read more

Had a very good experience with this company in our move from Huntsville, AL to Pocatello, ID. The crew was professional. They did a great job in wrapping our furniture and boxing glass items. Everything was inventoried and accounted for. They were flexible in the delivery day and time which was more conducive to our schedule. I was kept informed of when they would be arriving. I would give them 5 stars if there hadn't been some minor internal miscommunication on their part. For instance, the crew arrived a day early from Nashville because of a miscommunication in their office. However, they were extremely good natured about the mishap, took the opportunity to do a walk through of our residence, left us with some much needed packing items, and they were off back to Nashville. I will definitely use them again in the future. David was the team leader and driver with over 20 years of experience. We were cracking jokes on each other the whole time of loading and unloading. I had Apex Robert E Lee move me from one house to another about a mile apart and store my furnishings for about 3 weeks as well while the new house was getting ready. When the salesman Jerry came to the house to give me an estimate he mentioned that they would throw in for free insurance to cover my belongings. All that was said... When they were putting up my guest bedroom I noticed that they had crushed one of the drawers in the platform bed. They had wrapped it in a pad and then put something heavy on top of it. They crammed it in and now it won't open up. For almost a year I tried to get them to fix it. Finally they sent a guy out to give them an estimate of the damage. It was ony like $285.. I was being nice and not demanding that the bed be replaced as the funtion of it is ruined. I recevied a letter from Bunny telling me that they would not fix the drawer as it was under the $500 deductible of the "free" insurance they gave me. I didnt ask for the insurance and I am now being penalized because of something I didn't ask for or want. How is that "Free"? I am a business owner and if one of my employees makes a mistake that impacts a client negatively I take responibility for it and make it right.. For only $285 you would think they would not want to have any upset clients writing bad reviews which will cost them much more than $285. These guys do not care. I figured out why they don't care. If you try to write a review on their site they delete it and don't publish it. And the review system is rigged because you can only rate them 5 Stars and nothing less. Very shady!!
