We do not even know where to begin, or how to keep this short. We DO NOT recommend Apex moving and Storage. Please DO NOT hire them. Please read. We were going to rent a Pod, would have cost us half as less the $ and less stress from what this company wronged us. I almost decided on a Pod a couple of times. When I talked to Daniel Cole, my sales Representative, he assured me with the estimate he gave me, he added $ to the original quote for leeway so if I forgot to add any belongings to our inventory, we would still be good on our cost. I emailed and talked to him on phone multiple times to confirm the cost and move details. I explained to him that my son,who is a furniture mover himself, came home to help us move, he estimated our belongings about 3,000lbs more than what they had on inventory but Daniel assured me that is why there is added leeway cost and that they would take take care of us. To not worry. So, that was my decision, to hire Apex Moving and Storage. Why, because my fiance and I had a newborn. He was born full term at 10lbs. 13oz 22in. Our Jack was sent to NICU with heart complications. He was transferred that night to another childrens hospital over 1 hour away. We could not hold him, I could not nurse him, for 7 days.At 8 days old, our baby son had to go through heart surgery. He did recover and is so healthy now. He has been off oxygen at 1 month. 3 months now, doing so well, but we were so scared! My fiance was so strong for us,taking care of us. So with that scare, and my older son coming home to help, I wanted them a break. I wanted us to just spend time together, just pack, and have the rest taken care of by Apex Moving.
They came, but we later found out we were outsourced to Prodigy Moving and storage out of PA. The foreman did walkthrough and said we had more inventory. I showed him emails and explained that was already added to our statement cost. He informed us might cost more but he probably could fit all. We discussed and decided to continue that shouldn't cost too much more but worth not having to do it ourselves and we already had a $1,500 nonrefundable deposit down. Movers loaded and stopped after awhile, raising our cost to continue $2,600 more. We were going to say forget this, unload our belongings, we were already done dealing with them but they guarded the truck and said it would cost us $2,000 to unload to give us our things back costing us a total of $3,500 for nothing. We felt stuck. We got the money together, they continued. After awhile, stopped again and said we are at the extra 2600 mark, if they continue, it would cost us another extra $1,300. Yep, that's what they did, added $3,900. We called company while movers sat and waited. The company called us back, while I was holding our baby, the lady customer service was yelling right away. We asked multiple times to lower her voice and let's talk this out. She was rude at one point yelling at me that I shouldn't even be talking to complaining because she knows I was intoxicated. I said, Excuse me, how dare she talk to a new mother this way and a customer. I dont drink, in fact, I breastfeed and just got done nursing our son. She said oh oh well sounded like you were slurring your words. WHAT! She accused me of threatening the driver, which none of us did. She finally lowered her voice, then saying "Is this better now" We asked to speak to someone else because how rude she was, she finally put a man on phone and he basically said, we continue for the full amount or pay the extra 2000 to unload our belongings right there. They did not care about customer service. He said the movers are their eyes and ears, so they go by what they say. We felt like either way it would cost us, so they continued. They still at the end did not load all our belongings. They loaded things they were not suppose to we set in a corner of room and asked them not to take, like my new custom built PC I use for my photography business and personal. Well, my PC does not work. I wanted it with me to keep safe like we did with my sons PC, we kept his in car, his works. In AZ, unload, we have many broken furniture, missing parts, furniture they took apart in IL did not put back together in AZ, boxes smashed so many broken pieces of plates, expensive crystals fragile box was beaneath 4 boxes, broke. Do not hire Apex or Prodigy moving and storage. Thank you for reading.
