This teamwork also stretches outside of the classroom, with Master Cooley asking if there is anything that he can help address while the student is in class time. Testing The testings are done as a group by belt rank. When it has come time to break the boards, if there is a student(s) who are struggling to achieve it in the initial round, there is a rising positive support by the classmates, along with the audience towards the student. Class Schedule Many different time slots are available to increase the opportunities for students to make it to at least 2 classes a week (2-3 per week are recommended). They are incredibly attentive, patient, encouraging, and supportive of all the students. During COVID, they were one of the first Fishers establishments that put into place safety measures for all students and staff. They go above and beyond to keep parents regularly informed, and enforce safety protocols. Our boys have excelled not only in Taekwondo, but in their own confidence, attention and self awareness. I had originally started tkd as a parent, simply watching. I loved the message Mr. Smith gave the kids about working hard and focusing mind, body and soul. This is what my child needed - a way to burn off excess energy, as well as focus. After attending several classes as a parent, I decided I needed to join as well.
