I was referred to Apogee by a friend who had a great experience there. She was right in recommending it. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, the place has a family like feel to it. I was suffering from sciatica when I first started going. I was having terrible leg pain as a result and my the end of the first week 50% of my pain was gone. Such relief! Over the next few months my hip got better and better. Jeff and the staff were very supportive of me during the healing journey, keeping me motivated during the hard times when I felt like I would never get better. Jeff also encouraged me to increase my overall health, suggesting weight loss, vitamins, home stretching and exercise. I followed (almost) all his suggestions and I feel MUCH better as a result. I am leaving his care healed and in much better health than when I entered it. If you are reading this review because you are about to start physical therapy for the first time, you are doing research and you are nervous or even a little scared, don't be. WOW! It's about time! I was impressed to at last find a physical therapist and team who take their time to fully assess you, provide a home program and even more importantly provide hands-on therapy. So many medical providers today are under pressure from CEOs and executives to reach a quota and bring in the big dollars. This is more important than really serving the people who seek their services and working with clients as individuals. Not so with Jeff Carter and his team. Jeff is thorough, has years of experience, stays on top of on-going education and the latest in the physical therapy world, and Jenelle and Lenie are phenomenal practitioners. I had a broken knee cap, suffered through months of pain and immobility and wondered if the stiffness and loss of mobility and athleticism would ever return. I suffered a major knee injury in college and underwent ACL reconstruction. As I aged, my knee became progressively problematic to the point my doctor said there was nothing that could be done for me and that I needed a knee replacement at age 40. I talked to Jeff, and he went to work. Over the course of several months, Jeff and his staff worked on my knee. The knee problems are gone, the scar tissue worked out, and my mobility is back to where I don't even think about my knee anymore. More important, I have confidence that my knee does not need to be replaced anytime soon. I am very thankful for Jeff and his co-workers. They have blessed me tremendously and given me back mobility that I thought was lost. Now I just go in every few months for some preventive maintenance to keep the knee mobile. In December of 2017 I suffered a major back injury. After the back surgery I was left with paralysis or the right leg and foot. I was using a cane just to walk. I had little (and sometimes no) control over my right foot. I needed to learn how to walk all over again. That was a task I had no idea how to begin. But with the help of Jeff Carter and his staff (and a lot of help from God) I can walk without a cane or a limp now. Along with the great physical therapy, I found that Jeff and his staff were also interested in my mental attitude as well. As a former patient of Apogee Therapy Center, I can attest to it's great reputation. My experience with Jeff, as well as other staff members was exceptional. I was referred there by a great friend in my Junior year of college for a herniated disk in my back. Team doctors told me to get surgery, do nothing for 6 month, and then start rehabbing. I am so glad I gave therapy, and Jeff a shot. I rehabbed for 4.5 months and was pitching 70% effort by fall ball at GVSU. Jeff pushed me in my exercises as well as through some pain, and I am better for it. Jeff is a great hands on and healing therapist, but you have to be willing to work as well in order to get truly better and stay that way. I am so glad I accepted a recommendation from a friend to try Apogee for my ongoing back therapy after my surgery. I attended pool therapy for a while shortly after the surgery at another therapy center - it helped, but not to the degree I needed to continue my golf passion. I am so glad we came to Jeff Carter at Apogee! This is the second physical therapist my daughter went to for her upper back / neck problem. The first therapist spent about 5 minutes evaluating her and the treatments didn't help. Jeff spent over an hour and a half evaluating her. He is so thorough! I have been a patient of Jeff's for over 13 years. Prior to having double knee replacements in 2013, I'd had several arthroscopic procedures done. After each of those and then after my knee replacements, I entrusted Jeff with my rehabilitation. I have had problems with my back and legs for over 30 years. I love to play basketball and unfortunately have not been able to as much as I would like due to those problems. After a month of inflammation in my neck which cortisone only alleviated slightly, I had hardly any range of motion left. Jeff Carter, owner of Apogee, treated me in seven sessions, and I now have total range of motion. Amazing! Jeff and Jessica used their hands to find hot spots, and to manipulate the joints, and also used vibration tools. Previously, I had been treated there for left hip pain, using electrical stimulation, heat, and manual manipulation. They also provide home exercises to maintain your gains.
