It's difficult to put into words what Dr. Kleiman does for her clients…read more A few summers ago, I severely injured my shoulder, tearing the cartilage and two of the rotator cuff muscles. I was told that although I could have surgery, the success rate would not be high and it could lead to chronic pain. Physical therapy was recommended, and after months of painful work and steroid injections, I was actually worse. I had more pain and less mobility. I had to sleep in my jeans so I could partially immobilize my arm by putting my hand in my pocket. I started to become discouraged and depressed. Then my wife recommended I go see "this great physical therapist" who had reportedly helped a friend's daughter recover from a knee injury without surgery despite being told by her orthopedic surgeon she would definitely require surgery. She went on to note that Dr. Kleiman was a bit more expensive and did not take several forms of insurance. As a physician, I was highly skeptical and may have rolled my eyes a bit. But those who deal with chronic pain know you will try anything, so I did. After my first visit with Shirley Kleiman, I became more optimistic. She took a lot of time to explain what was going on with my injury and why the previous physical therapy did not work. I actually felt some relief after the first session of her "biomechanical rehabilitation." I complied with the prescribed exercises and therapy sessions (which were rigorous) and after a couple of months, I had regained 100 % of my strength, 90% of my mobility and was totally pain free - without any drugs or joint injections. Most importantly, I got my life back and had my peace of mind restored. Dr. Kleiman has a patient and advocate for life in me. If you have had an injury, have chronic musculoskeletal pain, or have failed conventional physical therapy, I would recommend you get an evaluation at Spine & Sport.

Where to start, this facility was great to my mother when she was staying there for rehabilitative…read more But then when she had declined and had to be in a skilled nursing facility when also being with hospice-- the staff was supposed to check up on her every 15 minutes, I would be there with her for 3 hours, and they would maybe come in once for medicine. My mom told me to get her out of there every day for a week until she passed. I STRONGLY believe the lack of care and compassion is part of why she declined so fast. She felt like no one cared about her there, and they were only accommodating the last two days of her life. Staff would come in and not be educated on her chart or condition. It was horrible. I would NOT suggest this place, especially if you want your loved one to have good care.

Twisted wrong and could hardly tie my shoes or get dressed. Hands down this has to be the easiest PT around to work with. Call them directly, they contact your doctor for the referral. Friendly front desk, easy to schedule with, great to work with. One on one, not one PT with 2 or more patients. Had a few weeks scheduled but within a week and a half and doing my "homework" I was "back on track ". I'm a big fan of supporting small businesses as they usually go the extra mile, and Nephew is no exception. I'll continue to come here anytime I need PT!
