I had surgery…read moreyesterday morning, and was told if I had heavy uncontrollable bleeding that could not be stopped with Afrin, pressure, and lasted longer than 30 minutes/filled gauze pads in 10 minutes or less, that I needed to promptly go to the ER and call the on call doctor at this clinic. Well, lo and behold at 1am I had this issue. Went to the ER, they could not find the source of the bleeding. I was passing large blood clots, the blood was steady, bright red, and filling my gauze in less than 10 minutes. I even started coughing up blood because there was so much. I was in the ER for FIVE HOURS. And called this office FIVE TIMES for emergency help. They never called back. Just kept telling me to call again in 30 minutes if no one got in touch with me. It took me 4 and a half hours to stop the bleeding enough to try and go home to rest with NO help. I am terrified to actually rinse my nose out again because I am worried it will kickstart the bleeding and I won't be able to get it to stop a second time by rinsing out the clots that formed during this whole ordeal. This is a medical emergency according to their paperwork and instructions and they NEVER called us back. Not to help the ER doc. Not to evaluate. I had to handle this nightmare with nothing but a nose clamp (2 and a half hours wearing it at the ER) and my husband's love and support. This treatment is dangerous and absolutely ABYSMAL. When instructions are given and promptly followed and you don't even care enough to reach out and help your patients when they are going through what you labeled as a SERIOUS ISSUE, then the practice is bordering on malpractice. DO NOT GO HERE. They will not help you, or the docs who are trying to help you.

Good to know: She is VERY VERY EXPENSIVE! She is not a chiro you can just get a one off adjustment…read morefrom and be on your way. You have to get x-rays and undergo a complete exam first, then her treatments are around $3,500+ for a 3-week treatment course. Then you might be able to move to a maintenance plan if she deems appropriate, or a second/third round of treatment. She does not accept any insurance and if you ask her for a super bill to submit for your out-of-network deductible, she raises your rates. Pros: Dr J is very knowledgeable, committed, and will get you in if you're in dire pain. She has a TON of different offerings: eStim, AllCore, hydrogen therapy, orthotics, shock wave therapy, pillows, kinesio tape, and supplements. She also has lots of references and links to things she recommends, she is a great resource and she cares about her patients. Her office is easy to get to and parking is free and easy. She will also take your calls and texts after-hours if needed. Cons: She does everything by micro-measurements from your x-ray. This might be good for some people, but in my experience, the micro-millimeter-measurements on my x-ray and her attempt over a year to get my spine perfect were not correlate to my quality of life, ability to live, nor my level of pain (not to mention it cost me tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket to figure out). Her rules and processes for treatment/living life are very rigid...if you show an imbalance on your x-ray, to her its the end-all be-all to your problems. And if it doesn't show on your x-ray then it doesn't matter to her. In my experience, she would not listen to my intuition about my body ("she's my doctor and I need to listen to her" is how she put it). When I deviated from her protocol after 15 months of treatment, she scolded me like I was a child, exaggerated my condition, threatened that my entire spine would collapse, and then removed me from treatment for "non-compliance". This was the best thing for me as I was already planning to stop seeing her, but it was hurtful the way it ended. I started noticing a pattern that whenever I went long periods of time without seeing her (because she was ill, injured, or out of town), those were the times I made my best progress, I started feeling normal and like I could have a normal life, but then when I saw her again she would remind me of how fragile I am, all the things I can't do (can't stand a certain way, can't sleep a certain way, can dance a certain way, can't go barefoot, must to this and that....the list goes on). My life was dictated by fear....fear of moving wrong, fear of injuring myself, fear of causing damage to my body by living my life. But after a while I realized that the psychological effect of her telling me I was broken was perpetuating my flare ups....I generally dont have flare ups when I'm not around her for an extended period of time. I can do everything anyone else can do, I'm completely fine and she had me convinced that I needed her. Sometimes I felt like she made business decisions over clinical decisions. I purchased orthotics from her (spent over $300) and I HATED them, absolutely hated them but she wouldn't let me return them because she thought I should be wearing them. Her AllCore membership is set up to fulfill her business needs, not to be flexible with the needs of her patients. You have to opt in for a 6 month minimum contract and pay for 6 visits a month. If you dont use them you still have to pay for them, but if you use more you have to pay for more. When AllCore was hurting my body, she wouldn't listen to me. She brushed off the pain and my comments about it. It was finally my PT who called her to get my membership cancelled, it was the most frustrating experience to have to fight my own doctor to let me out of a contract that was causing harm to my body and realize that she would never listen to me, my thoughts, my intuition, and my desires about my body. In addition, her billing is not transparent. She keeps your CC on file and charges you randomly when she feels like it, the amount she wants to charge you, but she never sends out a visit summary, invoice, or anything. I have requested multiple times to know what I'm paying for and she would send me a receipt (nothing more than my credit card statement tells me). Its very frustrating to have your card charged without your permission for up-charges you thought were included in your visit. She carries very good supplements, BUT they are grossly overpriced. I made the mistake of buying once, she couldn't tell me the prices on them because apparently the prices fluctuate every day, but I trusted her and then all of a sudden, a month later she billed my credit card around $500. Of course I had to call her to ask what the charge was for and when I found out it was supplements, I immediately started getting them on Amazon or from my PCP office and paid a fraction of the cost for the exact same items.
