Finding this location has so far been great. I appreciate the staff greeting me and my child, not only just the receptionist. While we waited for a brief period of time, you could smell the cleaning products which I am always a fan of! They accommodated myself and my child fully; when he had a hard time with the normal X-ray method they opted for a different method with no problems. When Dr. Suzanne came in to do the final check on my teeth we had some light conversation which helps make the experience way more personable. She was great with my son for his check up and he had a great time here. If I could make one suggestion; something I always appreciated from our previous dental office was that they had things to entertain children while they waited for their seats. Extremely Disappointing Experience at Sage Dental Apopka…read more I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience at Sage Dental in Apopka. I brought my daughter to her scheduled appointment and we waited for approximately one hour in the lobby. Despite explaining the situation, the receptionist refused to even allow us to see the doctor because she claimed that my daughter had received a "free consultation" there approximately three years ago. That reasoning made absolutely no sense to me. We were there for a completely different dental care need, and after waiting an hour, I expected at the very least to have the opportunity to speak with the dental professional and have the situation properly assessed. What made the experience even worse was the receptionist's rude, dismissive, and condescending attitude. She would not even buzz the doctor or make any meaningful effort to address our concerns. There was no empathy, no attempt to find a solution, and no basic courtesy toward a parent who had brought her child in for medical care. Healthcare and dental practices should understand that patients are not customers standing in a checkout line at a grocery store. People come to these offices because they need professional care, and they deserve to be treated with dignity, patience, and compassion. Sage Dental should seriously reconsider how patients and families are treated at the front desk. Receptionists are often the first point of contact for a medical practice, and their behavior can completely define a patient's experience. Staff dealing with patients, especially children and their parents, should have the professionalism, communication skills, education, and basic empathy necessary to handle difficult situations respectfully. Unfortunately, our experience left us feeling dismissed and disrespected rather than cared for. Waiting an hour only to be turned away without even being allowed to speak with the doctor is unacceptable. I strongly hope management takes this complaint seriously and reviews both the policy that resulted in this situation and the way patients are treated by front-desk staff.
