We were so thankful to find this place at the end of our Virginia Creeper Trail ride. Love the atmosphere and decor -everything about it! Love the big French doors that were open to the patio, the couches and chairs (so comfortable) and framed artwork - including the antlers. Very creative. Cocktails were great. No food is for sale, but you can bring it in. There are cookies for sale by a local baker - which are to die for!

Great service and great drinks! Parking on the side. Great bourbon & trail whiskey. Must visit when in town!

One truly remembers a place this wonderful. Located in beautiful quaint Jonesboro, there are many uniques shops and restaurants. Tennessee Hills offers tastings. The personnel are knowledgeable and friendly. We have had some of the best conversations with the staff and customers. This time we had lunch at the cafe next door. Fantastic food choices the Reuben and spicy chicken sandwiches get my highest recommendation. They offer a great number of mixed drinks made with their craft distilled spirits. Several Sunday football games were on the TVs in the cafe. The mood was festive in the cafe. Tennessee Hills has a new location in Bristol too! We will be back again and again!

From our parking spot, we spotted Tennessee Hills Distillery and knew we needed to check it out. The Tennessee Hills Distillery opened in the historic Salt House of Jonesborough in 2016. We were immediately impressed with the downtown area of Jonesborough and the salt house in which Tennessee Hills Distillery is located. The building itself is amazing and is something that we would love to have as our own. We are drawn to historic commercial buildings that are being preserved and renovated to house businesses and/or homes. After walking inside, we were even more impressed. They were offering complimentary tastings and we decided to participate. We thought the pineapple upside down cake rum was delicious. They have a wide selection of liquor ranging from whiskey, flavored whiskey, rum, flavored rum, gin and vodka. They also have some nice SWAG for purchase and unique gift items. We purchased a bottle of their Pineapple Upside Down Cake Rum to give to our good friends. Overall, this was a great visit and we highly recommend to others.

Davis is a winery/distillery combo. One side of the massive building is a small wine tasting room,…read morewhile the other side offers a distillery tasting. The middle is a warehouse. Davis has 45 acres of vines - which is actually a huge planting. They seem to specialize in Chambourcin and other hybrid grapes, like Steuben, Marshal Foch, as well as some Pinot Noir (which grows decently in the area) and Chardonnay. Prices were very reasonable, although they tended to serve sweet and semi sweet styles, which isn't my thing The wine was OK, but I LOVED the distillery. I had a very brief, off-the-cuff tour, followed by a tasting. The maple bourbon was excellent and lives up to its name (I bought a bottle). But I also liked their moonshines, especially the apple. The 'heritage' bourbon was spicy, which was interesting but not for me.

We were told we could select 3 wines to sample. What they didn't explain was that my husband and I were to share those samples...we weren't allowed to each select 3. The staff member stood in silence as we sampled the wines, offering no information on what we were sampling. Very awkward and rude. Neither of us cared for the wines we selected. The distillery staff member was a slight improvement over the winery tasting, but not enough to save the rating. He was friendly enough, but didn't care for the spirits either. I wouldn't recommend to someone traveling through.

Two other people did arrive just a minute after we started and they were able to get integrated into our group. Our guide gave us fantastic info and even let us smell what they were currently working on. He also answered my many, many questions about the complexities of working so close to the state boarder (I was so curious!). The people who were also on our tour really tried to stir the pot by asking questions about local brewery drama. However, our guide was incredibly gracious and spoke kindly about all his local competitors. I could definitiely see the grit it takes to be a small local producer. We got to see the barrel room and the amount of work it takes to produce and manage all that inventory seems like a lot. After we took our tour, we sampled some of the offerings. They had whiskey, gin, vodka, rum, brandy, and perhaps something else. Much of what they had was quite strong, and really nice quality. I ended up getting some of the golden rum and a couple of other smaller things. This is definitely worth a stop in. The tour and tasting was free and family owners/operators were really nice.

No need for a designated driver here, no one was driving! After parking in the designated spot, I walked in and was warmly welcomed. They have a massive selection of spirits here. Stuff they distill and brew themselves plus lots of guest drinks. I started off with a Rye Old Fashioned and watched the bartender assemble it in front of me with the twist of orange peel, the candied cherries and, per my request, half the usual simple syrup. I showed her my trick for taking pictures of drinks (Thanks, Julie!) and later enjoyed a vodka martini. The tasting room is comfortable with a collection of history showing how this place goes back to the Colonial days, their wifi works great (thankfully, as my cell coverage was zero) and my night's rest was excellent. This is a super space and I'm so glad to have experienced it. Oh, and I can't wait to gift these truffles to Mrs. K. when I get home! [Review 575 of 2026 - 4665 in North Carolina - 25756 overall]
