We continue to go back to the Tennessee Hills Distillery for several of our favorite spirits. Each time we find some new favorites. This was our 4th visit over 4 years. One truly remembers a place this wonderful. Located in beautiful quaint Jonesboro, there are many uniques shops and restaurants. Tennessee Hills offers tastings. The personnel are knowledgeable and friendly. We have had some of the best conversations with the staff and customers. This time we had lunch at the cafe next door. Fantastic food choices the Reuben and spicy chicken sandwiches get my highest recommendation. They offer a great number of mixed drinks made with their craft distilled spirits. Several Sunday football games were on the TVs in the cafe. The mood was festive in the cafe. Tennessee Hills has a new location in Bristol too! We will be back again and again! read more

We were checking out the city of Jonesborough, Tennessee and drove into the historic downtown area. We found street parking that made it easy to walk and explore. From our parking spot, we spotted Tennessee Hills Distillery and knew we needed to check it out. The Tennessee Hills Distillery opened in the historic Salt House of Jonesborough in 2016. We were immediately impressed with the downtown area of Jonesborough and the salt house in which Tennessee Hills Distillery is located. The building itself is amazing and is something that we would love to have as our own. We are drawn to historic commercial buildings that are being preserved and renovated to house businesses and/or homes. After walking inside, we were even more impressed. They were offering complimentary tastings and we decided to participate. We thought the pineapple upside down cake rum was delicious. They have a wide selection of liquor ranging from whiskey, flavored whiskey, rum, flavored rum, gin and vodka. They also have some nice SWAG for purchase and unique gift items. We purchased a bottle of their Pineapple Upside Down Cake Rum to give to our good friends. Overall, this was a great visit and we highly recommend to others. read more

Great Distillery! They have a superb but small tasting room where you can taste a great verity of their liquor! Its a bit hard to find at the tope of the hill and over the (WORKING) train tracks! Its interesting when the train comes by the building! The folks were attentive, informative and knowledgeable. We bought several bottles to take home all modesty priced! Great little place to try their spirts, but if you want a beer and food (Yes they have that too) you will have to go to their Bristol Tn location. read more

Had an amazing time visiting Tennessee Hills Distillery. I went with a group and we joined a tasting in session. The tasters and Cameron, our amazing tasting guide, quickly brought us up to speed. I was amazed at the number of tasting options available. Cameron gave an amazing tour. He was thorough, funny, and offered us several options on how to enjoy the alcohol. I had quite a few favorites-the oatmeal was amazing! I could definitely see that being used for a boozy oatmeal pie dessert. I'm not normally a fan of liqueurs but they had 2 amazing ones. well if you are wanting a tasting experience like none I've experienced. this quaint distillery is 2 blocks from Main Street next door to the oldest house in Tennessee this is your place. we tasted 16 examples of what they make. think of 2 thimbles worth of each. whiskey, rye, bourbon, liqueurs and rum. a simple discussion for each. a bit on the pricey side but if you are looking for something for a gift, special occasion or a holidays celebration this is your place. sorry I didn't take picks. a plus there is free public parking and restrooms 100 feet away. read more

Tasting with Deven was a great experience! It was more than the typical tasting. Even was not only entertaining, he knew the history of each spirit. Told you about all the complex flavors, what you could mix them if you wanted a mixed drink, and even could recommend pairing with cigars. Definitely not your avarge server, and elevated the experience 10 fold. Would definitely would recommend Tennessee Hills and an extra bonus if Deven is there! read more

We loved the tasting. From lavender to lemon there was so much to try. We got the minis as souvenirs. My favorite was the oatmeal. I'd suggest doing the lemon in the summertime. I can appreciate that several can be enjoyed on the rocks. I hope to return soon read more

My favorites were the banana nut bread crème liquor as well as the lavender lemon, lemon drop and dark roast! The staff were great although there were only two of them. One running tastings and the other running the entire bar side. The tastings are free and usually take around 25-30 min to complete. The ambiance was very welcoming, the store side had other merchandise for sale that was high quality and super cute. The bar made delicious drinks with their house made liquor. Always the best when I stop in. Love, love, love the Pineapple Upside Cake Rum & I always get a few bottles for friends. The place is growing & I love that he has partners that are increasing the business. Prices are a lot higher but I guess that's business. Service was spot on & a tasting was going on while I was there. Nice ambience. Some folks were working in the back & were very focused but not noisy. New flavors were different!! Ginger bourbon?! This hidden gem is hiding away in a sleepy little town and ia begging for more attention. Very good tasting of several whiskeys, rums, cream whiskeys, and vodka and all for free! Use the Groupon for a shot glass or pint glass to take home for a souvenir and take the short tour of the facility. They do quite a lot with their small booming business including hand bottling and labeling, but they are expanding to another larger facility soon and will have more to offer. The food truck outside has great pulled pork sandwiches and handheld burgers. They even deliver inside the distillery bar area if you are there. Great, newer distillery (9 years old) but they will be known if they keep ravking up the awards like they have on their whiskeys and lemon lavendar whiskey (a must try!!) They are a true small town gold mine! We tried their lavender whiskey at a conference last year and finally got to visit the distillery. This location has a tasting room, the food truck, and the bar. Their entire lineup is delicious and we walked out of there with enough bottles to qualify for the case discount. The food truck was yummy and the bar vibe was fun. The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable about the whiskey, the historic building, and the distillery process. Great spot and I have only a few tastes, a drink and a lemon drop shot! The blood orange whiskey is AMAZING! I liked it so much I had an Old Fashioned with Blood Orange Whiskey (I recommend it) and then had their Bloody Mary (a definite one to get). While we were there the train came by and EVERYONE got a shot of their Lemon Drop liquor. I had tasted it before and didn't like it but after a full shot decided to get two bottles. Back in our room I did a 2 oz pour of Lemon Drop over some ice and then topped it with some water. We really liked the establishment and plan to return. read more

The young lady who hosted us was very friendly and very knowledgeable about their many flavors. They are generous with the pours and I was frankly surprised at the quality of the bourbon for what I imagine to be a local/regional distillery. A great distillery by a 3rd generation distiller. They offer moonshine, whiskey, rum gin and vodka flavors. Friendly tastings (free). They also offer cocktails around back. I want to say first off, I have been a little selfish. I hesitated writing a review for a long time. Not because I didn't have great things to say but because I had so many. When you find a place that is so comfortable and welcoming you want to share that experience, until you realize that if the secret gets out, maybe it won't be this cozy little getaway for long. I live two hours away and still manage to take a little road trip 2-3 times a year to visit. This company is working hard to preserve the culture and heritage of the area as well as the art of making corn liquor. All of the staff are super friendly. The atmosphere is a well thought out country liquor store and back yard bar. It has just enough sophistication to make it unique without being a bougie hipster bar with $25 cocktails and an attitude. The merchandise is constantly changing and always fun. The cocktails are rotating with the seasons and well crafted. The distillery is rapidly expanding and moving on up to the big leagues. If the city will keeps its hands off their parking lot, I expect they will be here for a long while. read more
