My group isn't made up of serious climbers, but we had a lot of fun and felt like there were definitely enough climbs to try and of all levels. The staff when we went were chill and friendly. The facility was clean, and the chalk was well-stocked. Overall was a better climbing experience, and it would be my preferred gym if I lived closer!

The gym itself was much smaller than anticipated. Staff was helpful but part of the wall was closed making access even more limited. The climbing wall was rather small even if that section was open. The gym area had enough equipment to lift and improvise other work outs. They only had one of two showers operable, as one shower was filled with storage. When I went to use the operable shower I was told not to take a hot shower or not to be longer than 10 minutes because it would set off the fire alarm and sprinklers in the whole building. I found it strange but there was a fire alarm/detector in the bathroom so I set a timer. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. More than one days worth of hair in the shower. Grime on the walls and floors. The bathroom area outside of the shower was also dirty. Before I showered staff went into the bathroom to fill his mop bucket and mopped the entire floor in the main climbing area but didn't touch the bathroom itself. I would not recommend this gym if you are passing through and looking for a space to climb and hang out like we were.

So it was quite a tough class and a full body work out, and I sweated the Charles River. It was motivating and fun to work out with a crowd though, and there were people of all levels and plenty of modifications and options for the poses. I thought the technology was cool in that the humidity could be controlled, and there was a constant refreshing eucalyptus aroma in the air. Since it was my first time visiting, they offered for me to borrow a towel and mat for free. The facility was very clean, and everyone was so friendly!

I did have the chance to try their C2 class, which is also heated, however, did not leave as satisfied as I do after Yoga Sculpt class haha. Not because the class wasn't good, I just prefer more movement and sculpt has given me exactly that! Only thing is, this location seems to be quite busy & does get extremely packed... especially on weekends, which I understand. You will only have about an inch of space from the person to your left, the person to your right, and the people in front & behind you. They have mats and towels available to rent, though I do suggest bringing your own if possible! Some of the mats smell and it's questionable if they actually do give the mats a cleaning. To be honest, I'm most obsessed with the merch selection they offer here. I mean, I'm obsessed with the merch at most group fitness businesses I visit haha, truly a sucker for matching sets and anything pink! Can purchase yoga mats here, as well, like Manduka, Liforme, etc. Parking: free 90 min lot in the back for Ink Block parking.

However since it is closer to the city, it's small and has limited amenities. They offer a variety of classes, but their gym space is very crowded. I found their spin and yoga classes comparable to boutique club classes. Their other cardio/lifting classes are better suited for beginners. Their staff is very friendly and they have some tables to work. The only thing outside the small space is that it gets VERY crowded. Which means you're waiting on equipment, the bathrooms get dirty quickly and hard to find locker space. They only have a tiny sauna in the change room which is always full during prime hours. I would not pay a hefty membership fee for just this location.

Unfortunately, that completely changed after taking a class with the instructor, Alexander Liviner. From the beginning, his attitude came across as arrogant and superior -- exactly the opposite of what I was hoping for. At one point, he made fun of me for being slow. It was completely unnecessary. If he was trying to be funny, it wasn't funny at all. It felt humiliating rather than motivating. I also got a little confused with the weights and accidentally grabbed the wrong one. Instead of guiding me or correcting me in a professional way, he made a facial expression that made me feel like I was stupid. A coach's role is to support and teach -- not to mock or belittle someone who is trying. It also felt like he clearly favored more advanced participants, giving them more attention while others were left feeling invisible. I left the class embarrassed, disappointed, and honestly regretting that I took it. It was a horrible experience. Lifetime should choose instructors who lead with encouragement and professionalism -- not arrogance or favoritism.
