He came by with an assistant, wearing masks and putting booties on their shoes when they walked in the house. He took apart the dryer and diagnosed the problem as a bad motor and he'd order the part, pick it up and install it the next day. So the next day, I took off work so I can get this taken care of and I didn't hear from him by mid day. I figured it would be later on, but decided to give him a call anyway to see the status but it went to voicemail. I called 2 more times that day with no call back. I took off of work because he said he was coming the next day and he never showed up or even bothered to call me. The next day he did call me in the morning and said he will come that following day. He finally came and fixed the dryer which I was grateful for. He did leave a small mess behind which is in the picture, plus a little more, which included plastic wrappers, the old motor belt, screws, and a water bottle all on the floor. Like I said, I was grateful for him to fix the dryer but at least clean up after you are done especially since there is a garage can within 4 feet of the dryer. It did cost me a couple hundred bucks, which I felt was a little high, but I also felt I was at the mercy of a repairman during a pandemic and just needed it fixed. Overall, I am glad he fixed the dryer. If he communicated better and cleaned up after himself, this would be a little bit more of a positive review.

When it started needing service, I had two options, go back to Jimmy at Cerini in the Bronx, or see what was around on this side of the Throgs Neck / East River. Turnpike Appliance has kept my machine serviced to nearly top-notch condition every time. She's an old crow of a machine by today's standards, but still makes a perfect espresso. She's been in for a new brew unit, grinder, and a digital display. One time she needed a return visit and they guaranteed a repair and didn't charge me. That's a class act. The machine is picked up when done with a full detailing each time. Clean!! My sensor for the water tank is starting to go next, and since I'll be providing a filtered water line, I'll need that fixed. I called them over the phone and they were awesome, explaining how the water sensor can be faulty or backwards for me to check on my own. If they're able to keep my espresso machine alive this long, maybe they should consider becoming doctors and we can live to over 100 years old.
