I drove from Burlington, purchased the spray for $21.99 and a small spray bottle. I later learned the same spray, 32 ounces, was available at ACE hardware for $14.99. And the small spray bottle doesn't spray. An unfortunate experience at a business I've frequented for years. I will explore options closer to home.

I hadn't started anything and sure as hell didn't give it just 3 stars! That being said, let us begin! Downtown Burlington! What a very unique, wonderful little area. Full of restaurants, name brand stores, bars, quaint little shops like this one, a wide open area lined with stores that gives off very Ithaca Commons vibes. The Commons back in the day were the shiiiiiiiit! Sadly nowadays...it's too commercialized. Burlington, VT tho...not so much. Sure they have a Patagonia store and some other bougie ass stores, but it still has that super chill vibe which made me happy. One bad thing...LOTS of homeless! LOTS! I get they are homeless, but wow! For a tiny city like Burlington...it's kinda mind blowing how many homeless they have all over the downtown area. Does that take away some of the magic that is..Burlington? Sure! Maybe a little! Then you come across adorable little stores like Home & Garden Vermont. What a (and I never use this word .. like ever lol but..) what a charming little store. Little bit of everything in there. It's the type of store that tourists absolutely love. Even the high prices don't seem to phase most tourists...then there is me haha! I'm cheap af. So appreciating these types of stores is more my cup of tea lol. Although, I came close to buying a few things in these little stores. My brother and I would see something and be like "let's check the others to see if the prices are any cheaper" They. were, not. Haha! If you saw a very cool Stowe or Burlington t-shirt in one store for $33 ... best beweave..it's $33 in the next one. These stores make their money regardless of cheap fks like myself...and I'm glad they do, Stores like Home & Garden Vermont add so much of that amazing magic that is felt throughout the downtown area. The staff is beyond sweet. Very nice lady helped us when we were there. Very bubbly, smiley, just an incredibly nice human. I did go up to her tho and told her that her store gave off Schitts Creek vibes. Yall remember, Rose Apothecary?? For some reason, parts of this store very much made me think of Patrick and David in their little Schitts Creek shop haha. The employee laughed and she said "all we need is David and we'd be set" haha! Rose Apothecary, now that I think of it...a lot of the stores around downtown are quaint like that. However, Home & Garden, I actually felt like it was like..a sister store of Rose Apothecary haha! I loved when David and Patrick opened that store in that series. I love love stores like that. So it was kind of special to walk in to this store and immediately feel that. Even my brother agreed. So I know I'm not like crazy haha. Store is very nice. Nicely laid out. They pay close attention to details in Home & Garden Vermont. They know exactly where to place everything for maximum exposure. Their front windows are even very homey to look at for the "window shoppers" What a great little shop. This was my first time ever in Vermont. I grew up in upstate New York, too! I know this will not be my first and last time in Vermont. Autumn on the east coast is something that is like no other. As a photographer, VT is like a dream come true during Autumn. Point of me saying that is...I know I will be back and I look forward to going to this little store again and all the others around the downtown area. Seeing as my family is still in upstate NY, yeah, I know I'll be back. Home and Gardrn VT...thank you for a very pleasant experience. You certainly will never be forgotten. When you walk in...oh my the scents! It's a sensory extravaganza, seeing the many colors of…read morebeautiful soaps and inhaling the amazing combination of delicious scents. I love their "Stone soaps" --they fit in my hand and are creamy and smooth in the shower--I'm never without them in my house. I also love the lilac soap, the shampoo bar (I'll never buy liquid shampoo again!), and the luxurious rose geranium hand cream. The small room where I keep my many Farmcraft soaps smells wonderful for several weeks after a shopping trip. I've enjoyed a summer tour, learning about beekeeping, herb growing, and seeing how they make some of their soaps. I even learned how to lighten my mood by brushing my hands through lemon balm and inhaling the scent.

I attempted to go to Canamak Farms 3 times and found lots of plants but no people. The first 2 times I couldn't find an "Open" sign Or a sign with their hours of operation. (My Visits were between noon and 4:30 pm. Weekdays) On my third visit I found a chain across the front of the building with a "closed" sign showing hours (open until 5:00pm), it was 4:30. I also tried reaching Canamak Farms by phone twice. I left two detailed phone messages, both times asking for a call back.... Nothing. On my fourth and final visit, Success! They were open. The plant selection was ok, not a great variety of herbs. (Peppermint) and the woman working didn't know that it was different from plain Mint. I saw 3 other plants I was interested in but they had no markers. Again I asked the woman working, she didn't know . (Italian or yellow squash). She moved things around then told me yellow squash. (They turned out to be zucchini.) Not great plants, high now 2 months later, the plant I got are 50% at best. Sweet peppers had small flowers that grew to 1 1/2" peppers then simply hung there and got soft, compost. The sun gold plants were leggy when I got them and have grown some with minimal yield. Overall, I'm disappointed with their unprofessional business practices. (Couldn't even return my call, customer service is important). I understand that "hours of operation"is loosely based, it's hard work they do. Their huge SALE SIGN was the biggest thing about their sale. They offer soil, mulch, compost but only in bulk and for delivery. Neither was what I needed. Ill go back only in a pinch. Big bummer. I support local businesses not this one.
