I have never had a doctor be so rude to me, let alone during an appointment for my 6 year old. First the assistant could not get my son's X-rays because his mouth is fairly small & he was having a hard time closing his mouth. Not a big problem, I had a hard time as a kid with this and even now. After she tries jamming it in his mouth a few more times we call it quits and Say he can try again with the doctor. 15 mins later Doctor Maria comes in and makes small talk with my son about being an only child and so he must be spoiled like her who's also an only child. That is fine, except next she asks if he's going to try being a better patient this time....?! He's 6 and getting X-rays can be uncomfortable with a small mouth. So without any X-rays she looks in his mouth, asks me if he sucked his thumb or had a pacifier which he did neither and asks me again as if I'm not being honest. My son has only lost 2 teeth, but she says he will clearly need to be in a nighttime retainer when he gets his permanent teeth by 7-9 because by 11 when he gets braces it will be too late for his overbite. I'm shocked at how young all the ages she's giving me are especially since he's not anywhere close to having his adult teeth. So I say "wow that's young". We all get them in late in my family, around 12-13. No braces until 16. So I'm more so like what? "That seems so young but okay"- I'll keep it in mind since she said he was still too young for anything now. I am in my work scrubs so she nastily asks if I was a nurse, and I say I'm not I'm a phlebotomist. I could tell she was trying to see how much she could be rude with me about my 'healthcare knowledge'- I see that all the time between patients and whoever is treating them. Asks if I have any questions I say "No,I guess not. Only about the retainer and braces but nothing to do with that now anyway, it just seems young to talk about braces" and this doctor LOSES her cool. She says "oh where did YOU go to school?!" I tell her I don't think I'm a dentist so she doesn't need to get like that with me, I'm curious because I'm *not* a dentist so I'm caught off guard by this info and didn't even get any X-rays done nor did she look at his mouth for more than 2 minutes. She starts getting nasty again about how I'm being condescending because I must think she's wrong since I said it "seemed young" three times. I said okay I thought I could ask questions but clearly I can't because I didn't get any sort of an answer just her telling me basically I'm stupid and to not say anything at all because she's the dentist not me. She's literally going on and on how I'm condescending and "we both misunderstood each other" and I questioned her too much and she's been in dentistry for 45 years and how I have no idea how she treats her patients (I told her I would never talk to my patients how she was talking to me, so nice to know that this is what happens if you ask questions). She gets up and says LETS GET OUT OF HERE and walks off leaving my son and I there stunned while the assistant them awkwardly gets up and I'm like "so we're done then?" She says "I guess so" and I say how we wanted to try for X-rays again and it is ridiculous that the doctor went off like that so fast. My son was so upset, they made him feel bad from the very beginning about the X-rays and the assistant was clearly getting annoyed that she couldn't direct him on how to do it. Then that rude doctor. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! They are scammers & what they do should be a crime. We are new to the area, my husband was looking for a dentist. He went to Apple dentistry. He went in for a basic cleaning, they convinced him that he needed a full debridgemnt which is totally ludicrous. THAT IS THERE SCAM!! I have never even heard that term in my life. When I got home I called them to find out why he needed that..they didn't have an answer for me & continued hanging up on me. They charged him $90 and the insurance company $400. Plus he said they only working on him about 10 mins...he didn't even get a decent cleaning much less a full debriment..I have called my insurance company & they are investing it. The staff is very professional but yet with a feel of a family atmosphere. Dr. Osan takes a personal approach and genuinely cares about the aesthetic of my smile and recommended only the treatments that are needed. Like the person before me said: STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!! If I could give this place negative stars, I would, but it doesn't give me the option to. I took my daughter here because this dentist office came up in a search for pediatric dentist. When I got there, I filled out the paperwork they asked me to (which, to begin with, you can tell they made copies of a copy like 100 times so you can barely read what you have to sign). I noticed there was conflicting information on their forms saying they need 24 hour notice in advance before they charge you a fee. Then another form said 48 hour notice. I pointed it out to the receptionist and asked which one was it. All she said was "I have to read that paragraph again" and failed to give me an answer. Clearly, they didn't read the forms beforehand. So THEY don't even know what people are signing. I then presented my insurance card and ID. Waited some time. A couple people came in after me. They called one in, then the other. My daughter (a toddler) was getting very impatient at this time, so I asked if it will be much longer and immediately asked us to come in. As I was about to ask if I can reschedule for another time when my daughter can be more relaxed, they told me they were no longer going to be accepting her at that office and are "referring her to another dentist". I told them: I SPECIFICALLY asked if you took children who are two and a half years old. They said: Yes, as long as they're cooperating. On the first page of their website it says, "We love children and our goal is to eliminate any fear of dentistry". HUGE LIE!!! The dentist didn't even come see us! As soon as I walked into the room we were going to be seeing the dentist in, the assistant took us right back out and told us we are being referred. I had a horrible experience. I felt very unwelcome. I will never set foot in this place again and will not hesitate to discourage others from coming here! read more

Dr Aswalth was rude and didn't show me where my cavities were located. He announced that I had 6 cavities. A year ago I had no cavities from the X-ray. I was shocked because I never have cavities and it's been 20 years since I had 4 cavities. The dentist stated that I eat sugary and chewy candy(that's the opposite of my diet) and the insurance company pays for fillings but if they are to be white I would have to pay $50 a tooth. I remained calm and kindly got out that chair. The technician asked when did I want to come back and I asked her where were the cavities -teeth 12,11,10 and 7,8,9. A week later I paid for another X-ray in which the dentist said I didn't have any cavities. This dentist showed me my X-ray and gave me the films. I am shocked and warning all potential clients to avoid this dentistry. Do not believe that you have cavities.. Get a second X-ray scan. read more

I have always taken good care of my teeth and was shocked to hear that I needed such an expensive procedure that insurance doesn't even cover. I went to see Dr. Vinay Aswath. He was incredibly rude upon our first interaction. I was getting a regular cleaning. He walked into the room and didn't even introduce himself. He just said open up. He proceeded to do my cleaning. He then said they'll schedule you up front and left. He didn't talk to me about anything dealing with my mouth. I was scheduled to get some fillings done. I came back. My second encounter was basically the same. He was rude and off putting. However this time I bombarded him with questions and forced him to give me answers. I told him that I had had a periodontal exam and that the periodontist had disagreed with his findings of cavities. He then tried to convince me I couldn't have possibly saw a periodontist. I told him I had. He then went on to say, "I seriously doubt you saw a periodontist because periodontist don't accept public aid" I then looked at him and said, "I'm pretty sure I did because I paid with cash". The way he said what he said was very rude to me. This was his second time saying something demeaning about me having public aid. I wish at this point I could have just chosen another dentist... But I needed this work done asap so I could move forward with my Invisalign so I chose to finish my work with Dr. Aswath. He did my fillings that day. The procedure went well. But we did go back and forth about which fillings he would put in my mouth. The white ones vs the silver ones (sorry I don't know the names). Once again, the conversation/debate became about what my insurance didn't cover and he was attempting to proceed without giving me a choice. I explained to him that I pay out of pocket sometimes so I can make my own decision on what fillings I want in my mouth. He seemed annoyed. The third time was my last visit. I had to do my last set of fillings. Once again, he comes in the room without speaking or telling me what we were going to do that day (although I knew, it's just nice to go over what's getting ready to happen). He gave me 3 blocks of anesthetic and proceeded to do my fillings. Half way thru, I felt an immense pain when he drilled. I kind of scrunched back in the chair because of the extreme pain. It was sharp! I could tell Dr.Aswath was very frustrated with me. Dr.Aswath then talked very aggressive to me. He said, "listen you can't jump while I'm working. Put your hands down on the chair and if something hurts you need to raise your hand!" It was just said very aggressive. He then asked the assistant for another block of anesthetic. Now this is where it gets awful. I felt a noticeable difference from when he injected the block this time. It was very aggressive. It felt like he stabbed me with the damn needle. He then about 5 min pass and began drilling again. The tears just began to fall down my face and I began to shake. I raised my hand to tell him I couldn't go on. He then stopped and said, "give me another block". He stabbed me again with my 5th block of anesthetic and told me that was the last one he could give me. And he walked out. About 10 min later he came back and I spoke with him about the pain. He said he was unsure of why I could feel the drilling. He told me he had 2 more fillings to go. This time as he started drilling I felt less pain... But not none! I just buckled down and got it over with. I was so glad to get done. I was so glad to get out of there. I paid my money and I left. I just hope the work was done well. We'll see what the orthodontist says when I go back for my Invisalign work. Needless to say, I WILL NOT be going back for any procedure/ cleaning/ anything. read more

Me and my wife came for a dental cleaning to Apple Dentistry. Dr Aswath checked both of our teeth. He recommended that both of our teeth need debridement. And also my wife's 4 teeth should be extracted. We got shocked and consulted to another dentist in south suburb, recommended by our neighbor for a second opinion. After examining both of us, He said my wife needs filing on couple of teeth otherwise looks fantastic for both of us. By the way we regular brush our teeth twice and floss before going to bed and day time. that triggers us to go for a second opinion. This proves that we should consult a dentist recommended by someone, whereas our mistake was we picked Apple dentistry random from online. I will not recommend anyone to Apple Dentistry. read more
