IMO their prices are high for a small town ice cream shop. Their food is ok. They need to season their burgers better, but they aren't frozen patties, so that's a plus. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Parking lot was pretty full so I was a little concerned there would be a long, slow line. The young lady behind the counter was fast and efficient, worked through the line like a pro! I ordered the Vicksburger with everything to go. It was done quickly. I thought I might be able to eat it while driving home, but NO! This burger was huge, lots of toppings, very sloppy and so delicious!! I'm a local and ever since we moved there 15yrs ago, we have taken our kids since they were babies. Their ice cream is amazing! The newest location has a pirate ship a little over the water, but sadly doesn't have a wheel, and is great for the littles. You can either sit outside or inside. If they don't have the flavor you want or they mess up your order, you get a free baby scoop. Overall it is amazing, and until we move somewhere else that is my number #1 spot in the summer. read more

This is a fun little spot right in the heart of Vicksburg, Michigan. They carry two brands of ice cream. Plainwell ice cream which is pretty much the undisputed champ in these parts and Ashby's ice cream which offers a few variations such as superman and fat free. The hot dogs are by Nathan's and there are also a variety of other choices such as burgers or a chicken salad wrap. What I truly like about this place is not just that they serve "happy food" but how they put it all together. The inside seating reflects someone's little dream. Rather than throw a couple of tables and chairs into a room this place reflects someone's passion. You'll see and feel what I mean when you check it out. This business is owned and run by family members who always have a smile and something nice to say. They close for a few months starting around November like most other ice cream shops. Word is they'll soon have ice cream cakes. Makes it almost worth having another birthday and definitely worth celebrating someone else's! They have changed locations, just down the street! Lots of upgrades, more seating both inside and outside. Beautiful view overlooking a pond. They have so many choices for ice cream, different ones each time we come in. They also serve speciality cheesecakes, a personal favorite! the owner is very kind. the counter help is not very friendly. a young man with dark hair has been rude two times while waiting on me in the last week. He is constantly starring out at the long line all worried about how many customers and his inpatient attitude is not appreciated by customers. They are charging quadruple what Plainwell Ice cream charges for a quart. I called Plainwell ice cream, they charge $7.95 for a half gallon. Apple Knockers charged $32 for 2 Quarts, which if you're bad at math is a half gallon. I called and asked why it's so inflated, the manager told me "because it's handpacked, not poured out of a machine". We ended up returning both quarts for a full refund. I had read an article in the Kalamazoo Gazette about Apple Knockers having "flint style coneys". I was born and raised in Flint, and coneys are considered a comfort food. The coney was not a flint style coney. To be a true flint style coney you MUST have Kogel vienna hotdogs. A Nathan is no where near being a Kogels. The waffle fries we had were great.
