To start with, I will give the disclaimer that Frozen yogurt is one of my favorite things and it would take a lot for frozen yogurt place to disappoint me. Y'OPA is one of the best around. There are several options for frozen yogurt and they even sometimes have Gelato, which I am becoming more and more of a fan. They had Cookies and Cream Gelato and it was so creamy and delicious. I was impressed. Anyways, if you have never been, they weigh your cup at the end so that is how it is priced. Currently, (as of 10/12/19) there was a yelp reward for going and checking in. That was a nice treat! Once you pick your frozen yogurt and head near the toppings. This place does not disappoint with toppings. There are so many options. It can be overwhelming for an average person but someone like me, who loves places like this, it was paradise. It ranged from 3 different types of cookie dough, almost all the different types of cereal. Those bubble tea balls (I never know the name of them, oops), fruit, and more. You will have to go in and check it out. You won't be disappointed. Cost: Without with yelp reward it is averagely price. I don't think it is expensive and is highly ranked for a reason. Atmosphere: Clean, organized, the toppings were not in a mess. The booths for people to sit in are a little outdated and run down but the new high top tables and patio seating are nice. Frozen yogurt is my jam and what's even better is the cookie dough you can typically find! This place gets 5 stars based on the cookie dough lover inside me because they have four, YES FOUR, different kinds!!! There's chocolate chip brownie, standard chocolate chip, and reeses pieces cookie dough. Each of these scoop-able to your liking and made fresh daily and without raw egg. The 4th one was your standard flurry type cookie dough. Yogurt flavors are on point too! I had peanut butter fro yo and it tasted like the cereal milk after eating reeses peanut butter puffs but with more peanut butter! Yum yum yum! Recommend if you're into that kind of stuff! read more

Because prior to co-owning and operating Crave Frozen Yogurt from 2010-2012, I did extensive research by visiting every frozen yogurt store within a 150 mile radius. We decided not to buy a franchise, so wanted to take all the good elements of other stores and put them in ours. Y'OPA has successfully achieved all the elements I identified and wanted and then some! Working in and owning a retail environment completely changes a person's point of view. One notices all the display details that normal consumers do not. I have 10 years of retail amd restaurant management in my past, so this is true in spades in my case. As I looked around Y'OPA, my retail analytic brain went into hyperdrive because this place made many of the same choices as as my partner and I did years ago in circular themed architecture design and decor, customer flow design, and fun pastel colored walls. This place had so many similar elements - We had curved wall with bubble tile where the yogurt machines are. 14 great choices for yogurt provide by 7 top of the line Taylor automated machines with relatively fun flavor names, fancy dry toppings dispensers around a custom built island, additional dry toppings in the bar next to plentiful refrigerated toppings. And then some... this is the only place I have been that has optional cup dividers that can be inserted into the cup. This enabled me to have 3 sections in my cup. Normally, I have to choose between fruity tart flavors and non-tart. Here, I had the best of all worlds. I did one section with tart flavors, another with ice cream type - chocolate/peanut butter, and last one w sorbet/italian ice. After my wife and I finished enjoying our creations, i noticed a freezer near the exit with Yoghund... I read the containers and asked the cashier in semi-disbelief, "Is this actually Frozen yogurt for dogs?! She responded, "Yes - It is. My dog loves it! Especially the Apple juice and cheddar flavor." ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!!! They have a 5 foot tall stand up freezer dedicated to yogurt for dogs!! Since my own dog loves yogurt frozen in Kong Toys, I know she would love this. Imagine the struggle of going dairy free when Ice Cream is your kryptonite! Now imagine the pure thrill when you notice that Y'OPA not only has vanilla coconut milk soft serve but chocolate, as well. Let's just say, it's a good thing that Y'OPA is a 20 minute drive from me. I have been here a handful of times, prior to going dairy free, and I have never had any complaints. The prices are a little high but as the occasional treat, it is worth it. The staff are always friendly & helpful and it is clean & well maintained inside. I will be back! read more

This was the best frozen yogurt I've ever had. There were more toppings, mix-ins, and candies than you could ever imagine. The pricing was reasonable, the place was clean, and like I said... it was delicious. I combined all of the chocolate flavors (including chocolate pretzel ) and it blended together fantastically. I also noticed they have Greek yogurt. Lots of flavors, a bunch of different toppings, and even syrups. Free water in a big clear container at the counter. Napkins everywhere and Purell sanitizer dispenser right at the end of the counter in case you, your date or kids get a little messy or have a yogurt fight. Other things I like about this place. Really well done interior design. Seriously, have a look around this place and notice how cool it's put together. Indoor and outdoor seating areas. Whhaaaaaaa??? It was so freakin' good. (The only problem is that zero toppings go well with root beer flavor. You can't put Oreo crumbles or gummy worms on there and expect to enjoy the root beer flavor. Oh, well. Guess I'll just enjoy this huge tub of root beer-y goodness on its own.) Great flavors. Love this place! Worker at the front was very nice in explaining how to go about making your fro-yo. You can taste as many flavors as you want so you can find your perfect flavor combo, and dont have to pay for what you don't like. The decor feels very fresh and clean. A nice patio as well to sit outside when it's nice. They have tart flavors, non-fat, and regular. Flavors change often too. Many different combos of toppings to choose from, even syrups and fresh fruit, to greek favorites like honey and baklava pieces. I prefer this place over yo go delites, the yogurt is creamier and heartier. It's also cheaper, and they offer discounts with school ID's and a discount for frequent visitors if you sign up for their program. I wish they had more locations. read more

This is the best real frozen yogurt I have ever had. I am addicted to the stuff. Even researched their supplier. Top shelf, friendly, hard working staff and the yummiest treats in the County! Beside well crafted yogurt, they offer Italian Ices, sorbets and frozen custard. The flavors change regularly, but are always anchored by their fat free, no sugar added Tahitan Vanilla. Hard to believe something good for you could taste this decadent. I cannot say enough about this wonderful Portage purveyor of sweet treats. But it gets better. Worth driving out to Y'OPA's even if it's out of the way. There is another froyo place that is within walking distance of us and we choose to go here. Staff went above and beyond to help identify which toppings had eggs and dairy (lactose intolerant and egg allergy). They even went as far to let us know which toppings could have been cross contaminated during production when it was manufactured. No restaurant usually does this and I was incredibly impressed. Y'OPA's always has at least 2 dairy free options and this most recent time we went they had coconut which was so good! They also have a much larger selection of toppings and I love how FRESH their fruit is. Other places locally seem to use frozen fruit which is fine, but I'd choose fresh over frozen anytime. The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is although the staff was extremely helpful, I wasn't a fan of walking into an empty place and an employee swinging the door to the back open while on their phone to peek out to greet me...and then I saw all other employees engrossed into their own phones. I've never seen them out of a flavor that they have offered in one of the many machines. You are can in control of what you choose to put in your bowl, cup, or etc. we figured out besides the many of flavors that are in the shop. You can actually get the option to have select options swirled. After you get as much of the frozen yogurt as you want then you can move forward to the toppings. Stack them as high as you want, as little as you can pay, or put a cherry on top! It's your design! The one cool thing is that you can sample the flavors are that you want. So you know exactly what you're going to eat. It did take me some time to decide what I wanna do. But I finally settled for a classic vanilla flavor with kiwi, chocolate chips, and kiwi Boba. My friend went for something that word wake him up, a coffee type frozen yogurt, it was actually pretty good! Next time I might try that blue daiquiri frozen yogurt. read more
