My iPad suddenly started updating a few days after Christmas 2020. The update did not finish processing and I called Apple only to discover I could not get through to a human being. Apple made NO accommodations for customers who needed assistance when they closed their store due to COVID. I was told by cell phone carriers (T-Mobile, ATT) - and later by an employee in the Apple store - that Apple did not notify the cell phone carrier corporate offices that Apple was closing its stores. The result was Apple customers started going to cell phone carrier brick and mortar locations that had NOT closed to get help with their Apple devices. Apple only offered text message customer service, and most of the instructions on text did not make sense except the part where everything would be wiped if they did a complete reboot on my computer because their text messaging services had half of the sentence structures that did not make sense. For 6 months in 2021, I kept trying to get through to a human being at Apple. Apple finally opened its store and then you could not get an appointment, which were scheduled by week and were booked very quickly. I finally went to their brick and mortar store and was told I would lose everything when they connected my iPad to their computers to do a complete update. Previously, the Apple store supposedly set up all my pictures being automatically backed up only to learn they had not been backed up. I had been paying my cell phone carrier for iPad service and I asked Apple to reimburse for those costs either in cash or a gift card since their business model was non-existent during COVID (unlike many other large business' that had their act together) - or to at least replace my iPad protective cover. They said it was not their responsibility nor did they apologize at ANY time or take responsibility for the fact there was ZERO customer service for months and months. Zero responsibility by Apple for not having customer support. I was so disgusted I told the manager I would never buy another Apple product again. I love Apple products, and most would probably consider me a fanboy, but I hate Apple stores. They're usually crowded, and it can take forever to find someone to help you out. The Apple Store at Lenox is no different. Wanting to speed up my purchase of a product that just came out (a router, nothing major), I ordered it online and arranged for pick-up. When I got there (on a weeknight, and the store wasn't terribly crowded), I was directed to the checkout table. It was staffed by a single employee trying to figure out a more-complex-than-usual transaction. During my wait, I was approached a few times by other employees, asking me if I needed help. When I explained I was there to pick something up, they just confirmed that I was in the right location and walked away. After waiting for at least 10-15 minutes, I probably appeared visibly annoyed. Was it that hard to get someone else to process my checkout? Finally, the third or fourth employee who walked up to me was able (or willing?) to help me out and grab my order. She was the rudest Apple Store employee I've ever dealt with, but I was finally happy to just get out of there. read more

All around bad experience. The wait and intake service was severely lacking. The manager made it worse. His name was Adam and he talked down to me the whole time. I had a problem with my iPhone and instead of listening to me he condescendingly told me that I did not know how to use the product. After explaining to him that this was my third iPhone in four years, and I have mac pros, Apple TVs and airport extremes at home, he implied again that I was a dumb customer and my problem did not exist. Terrible! I bought an apple watch for my partner and was assaulted inside the store by these kids hitting me up for money and trying to sell me their belts??? When I told them I did not have any money to give them they began calling me an asshole MF....I said something to the girl who was helping me and the manager. They acted like it was no big deal. Sorry about putting down another negative review but I really feel the urge to do so for the other customers like me! Scheduled an appointment at 1:30 pm here but for 20 minutes NO ONE WAS AVAILABLE AT GENIUS BAR AT ALL!!! I understand that sometimes they can get quite busy depending on the customer a demand and the actual problem but if you don't have enough employees at this time please do not let that many customers sign up for that time slot! It makes me suspect you don't value our time AT ALL!!! These guys helped me with a return of items I purchased online. The idiots online wouldn't allow me to exchange them. So I held onto them for almost two months (just because I live so far from the store) before I finally made it here. The people in the store were busy as Hell! The guy in the department I needed help, was instantly on us and helped. I exchanged the product for two that I can use and received a partial refund. For my first review on my lovely new computer, I am going to award its source only 2 stars, am I backstabbing? Don't care! I kept joking that I was gonna go buy it in Alpharetta and save $12 on tax but didn't feel like going. And damn, I should have. It's truly a giant room of technology where people just leech off it. I have never seen so many losers wearing sunglasses indoors at night outside of MJQ. Nobody seemed interested in helping me so I used their little iPad system and got to be 9th in line and also got to be run into by ignorant 16 year olds. Good times. As I watched like everyone else get these nice long conversations with people working here, I get treated like crap despite the fact I'm spending tons of money. Instead of talking to me right there like everyone else, I get taken to the "cash register" and the sale is made. While I sure as hell don't mind that I wasn't pushed for buying all sorts of useless crap due to this, I sure as hell would have appreciated a thank you. Whatever. Cute Genius Bar guy (cute & nerdy, love it!)- thank you for fixing my 1-month old iPad. Apparently, my mere presence can cause an electronic item to completely malfunction...my track record includes breaking 2 computers, 4 DVD players, a cell phone, and an iPad in 2 years. To those who said "get an Apple, they have better software and less chance at viruses"...yeah, right. I made an appointment on the Apple website, showed up amidst complete consumer chaos in a packed store on the weekend, checked in, and the Genius found the glitchy software problem and fixed it in a few minutes. The only thing he wasn't able to help with was syncing the iPad with my iPod Touch. But that's only b/c it's an old one. Glad this store fixed it, b/c there was no way I was going to drive to the Apple Store at Perimeter Mall. read more

Ohmygoodness. Is this a retail store? A really cool club? . . . . Or is it a cult? Everytime I've been in the Apple Store, it's been crazy. Like, you'll say 'excuse me' at least 4-8 times from bumping into people. Like, you'll have to try to kneel near that guy's crotch because he's standing in front of the iPhone cases you want to look at. Like, you'll probably run into at least one person you know, so you may want to dress up . . . to go to a store that sells computers? All the employees are supercool and passionate about the products, and that makes all the difference. The entire store is shiny white, so if you'd rather not be bothered, try to do a little chameleon-like camouflage, wear something white to blend in. So go ahead. Love their new screen repair services! You can easily make an appointment (if there are any available spots) via their website Genius Bar. It tells you the fee schedule for each phone. I cracked my phone and it was in a pretty bad state. I made an appointment for Friday 11:30 am. I got here early around 10:40 and checked-in. A service rep started to help me at 11:28. In about 10 minutes, they checked that I had a recent back-up, my phone was checked-in for service, and I was given a tag to return in an hour, 12:40 to pick up my phone. When I went to pick up my phone, they informed me that after changing the screen, my phone failed the calibration tests (it was not working), so they gave me a new iPhone and helped me start the set-up process. The cost for my iPhone 6 Plus - came to about $139 (after taxes). read more

This Apple Store has pretty poor service. I have been here quite a bit in the past few weeks and so I have a lot of thoughts - 1.) Purchasing - They should want you to buy things. I feel like they should streamline the process at the Apple Store. When I went in to buy a new laptop it took almost an hour even though I went in knowing the exact model I wanted and was willing to set it up myself. I had to wait for one of their reps to come over and talk to me about it and throw in their 2 cents. It was annoying. I didn't need that experience to be that long 2.) Repairs - I bought a new computer. Within 3 weeks it broke (the keyboard stopped working) I took it in to the "genius bar" which a.) was SO hard to get an appointment with b.) had some really unfriendly geniuses working at it who were unwilling to keep me informed on what exactly they thought was the problem with my machine. In the process of fixing my laptop I was informed after 2 hours that they had "opened it up" and "actually broke the display" in addition to the already defective keyboard. This is all not even mentioning the crazy long lines to check in and the long waits sitting at the tables waiting for the geniuses to have time for me. 3.) Pick-Ups - More check ins, more lines, rinse and repeat. This particular apple store needs to make their managers more visible. Their check-in lines more purposeful and actually work on improving their customer service. I purchased an iPhone from Sprint and as luck would have it, on day 15 (14 day replacement) the battery starting to give problems. I made an appointment to go to this store, see a technician with an appointment scheduled for 8 PM. I checked in at 750 PM and was promptly assisted at 835 PM, yeah, so what is the point of an 8 PM appointment. From the time I checked in the employees were condescending. When the supposed technician saw my phone and ran diags (From his phone) he said he was going to delete my operating system and reload a new one as it seem corrupt. He disappeared after 5 minutes and never came back. Another tech saw me, asked me who was helping me I mentioned his name and he finished helping me out because this guy apparently was no longer at the store. This morning the phone was at 100% charge, it was on standby mode, dark screen, not being used and by 5 PM the battery level was at 33%, so his diags apparently were not correct. The service at this store sucks. Disappearing technicians, incorrect diagnostics, and quite a bit of frustrated customers at that store. I am going to make another appointment but will look for another Apple store even if it means having to drive longer, the lack of customer service, the condescending attitude towards the customers that pay their salaries is just horrible. I hope someone in charge reads these postings, because it seems there are other people with the same issues with this store. read more

Yes, it's the Apple Store. You can get all the latest Apple gear, software and accessories and get your broken stuff fixed. But my favorite part? They help you learn how to use everything! Everyone who works here is extremely knowledgeable regarding all things Apple. I've been shopping here since I first converted last summer and am now the proud owner of a pretty little MacBook, sweet Logitech wireless speakers, my addictive iPhone and countless accessories. But I went recently for some help with iMovie for a huge video project I'm working on. I scheduled an appointment for an online workshop on iMovie 2 days in advance. On the day of the appointment, I checked in with the concierge (yes, they have their own concierge) and headed over to the workshop area. And for a whole hour, one of the employees demonstrated the ins and outs of iMovie. On another occasion, my boyfriend was looking for a new computer and I kept nudging him toward Apple, so we went to the store. He explained to one employee what he was looking for. My man, being a big gamer, had specific specs he wanted for his system. The guy told he straight-up he'd be better off with a PC. Didn't try to sell him one anyway (like most electronic stores I know), he just told us Apple doesn't make a good gaming system yet. Tax-free was, uh, interesting. They would not let people in the store just to browse. Plus, I had to wait in line to get into the store just to buy headphones. But someone did personally take me around the store, telling me about the different headphones and found the perfect pair for me. So thanks, Apple Store. I'm sold on you. read more

Now I see why the rating is so low. I understand that today is a busy day, so I didn't have a problem waiting for an appointment to get my battery replaced; but when I asked the cost to replace my (cracked) screen, the "Specialist" who made my appointment told me I could find out when I have the appointment. Lo and behold, I waited an HOUR for the appointment (not that they gave me any estimate), then when the time came, they said they "couldn't" replace the battery without fixing the screen--for $129!!! I got me a Mac Bitches!!!! ok, i guess i could give this place a better rating. but I'm not. pros: when you are so lucky as to finally get assistance. there is no cash register. they have ipods with a credit card slot on the back. they type all of your info into the ipod and swipe your card and voila, someone else brings your mac to the station where you are. they gave me a hard copy of my receipt and even email a back up copy. uber cool. they have all of the mac's laid out where you can work and play with them to see/learn new things that you can take back and apply it to your system. the place is very large. and the layout is cool and basic. they have a childrens spot with a little table and little stools where they can play on the macs while you shop. cons: even though the place is huge, you'll never know it b/c it's always so damn crowded. first, you have to wait to speak with the concierge, then you have wait to speak with a rep.i hate all this damn waiting! b/c its so busy you have to make an appt to see a technical specialist. if you come in on a walk-in basis, they may not be available i guess all of my cons have to do with this store's popularity and therefore business. funny observation: ppl come here just to use the computers. when i was ever so patiently waiting on a rep. this guy was there on 2 comps in this beat making session. his phone rang and he told whomever was on the other line that he was "in studio working on some beats". read more

Yuck, the stuff you hear about poor service is true! I have many macs, but never needed to go in. My miserable experience started on the phone. Disconnected twice, and third call over an hour before getting an appointment. iPhone 5 has a problem with the sleep/wake switch, though they never publicized this defect though they have my email and serial number! As an outside company just replaced my battery, Apple will no longer fix the defective switch so there is nothing they can do except scold me for getting an outside battery. read more

I think I'm required to say if I could give it less than one star I would. Now that that's out of the way... I had to wait one hour to purchase a watch. Stainless steel watch and band in graphite. You would think a simple purchase. I stood for a few minutes in the line to get in the door and was told to come back in an hour. He didn't even Tee up the sale. Just come back when we text you. He dis say the watch I wanted was in stock. That was nice of him to go so far out of his way after I interrupted his work. Even then I had to stand in another line to pick up the item. But wait! There's more. This is when I find out the door patrol didn't tee up the sale. The actual sales process was fairly painless. But still the process took an hour longer that it should have. They didn't even try to upsell me. Not that I wanted that but just as a reason to make me wait an extra hour. No. The door guards stood around chit chatting. That's the kind of job I want except that I'm sure Apple doesn't pay enough to make standing around chit chatting a realistic career choice. I'm a PC user so I guess I'm not down with the cool people. Genius Bar? Does that translate to check out line? Where is the damn cashier in this chaotic store? I don't get it.... I go in to buy the new Ipod Touch (which is awesome btw) and it seems that everywhere you look there's an Apple employee. All of them are way to busy to help anybody out though. Whether it be stocking, greeting, demonstrating or ever talking on their personal iphone in the store, all of them are unavailable to someone that actually wants to buy something. I had to ask where I could go to actually purchase a product. There definition of service seems kinda skewed if you ask me. It's the idea of service. We have tons of people to help you, but offer too many services that tie up all of our employees so half of our customers that don't have a serious problem have to wait to actually get helped... blah. Other than customer service, the idea that I can fully commit myself to a product inside the store and play with it as much as I want to see if it's a good fit for me is terrific. Most places the electronics are behind closed glass boxes, but at Apple you can rock out on whatever you want while you wait to be helped for 20 minutes. Look. The Apple Store gets four stars if for no other reason than they have all the latest objects of my Apple desires beautifully presented in a uber cool...only Apple could design it kind of way. Yes, it's unbelievably crowded. Just elbow your way to your favorite toy to test drive it. No sweat. There are a thousand Apple employees around in the same t-shirt when you need something. If you look like you're doing something other than playing...they'll come up and help. No one is on commission so no one is fighting over you or being pushy. Just ask for help. The Genius Bar is wonderful. Wouldn't it be great if there was always a place to take your high-tech stuff to ask for help? Here's the catch with the GB, the geniuses only are supposed to spend 15 minutes with you. If you try to roll your ancient iMac with a PC laptop and a new MacBook Pro PLUS two iPhones...to "address a few issues"...they'll let you know you'll need to schedule another session. (Yes. I literally rolled in an iMac on a luggage carrier. They officially dubbed it "vintage".) Still, they fix stuff that you can't figure out and it's free. I'll play by the rules. read more

Left my phone for repair due to being cracked. Came back in an hour. The person at the front of the store couldn't locate my name on his iPad. He "walkied" repair and told me to go have a seat in the back. Four people came and left as I sat there. I finally asked someone and they looked on their iPad and said "repair" was never notified and someone would be with me. To pass the time I stopped a team member to converse about something I had seen on the news in reference to an Apple Store. He 1)acted like I was bothering him 2) was very snippy and 3) told me he had never heard a story like that and he was from the area. So just because you are from the area it could not of happened?? The customer service at this store was terrible and it is very unlikely that I will purchase another iPhone after this experience. I have an iPhone 6 and Apple currently offers a $30 battery replacement for this phone given issues that have taken place due to recent updates to the iOS software. I made an appointment with the genius bar to have the battery replaced this afternoon. After checking in for my appointment I sat at a table and waited for the technician to come service my phone. Unfortunately I did not get the name or employee information of the short blonde woman that came to work on my phone but I wish I had. She was terrible. First she told me that the battery would need to be ordered and would not be available until late March/early April. Then she proceeded to run diagnostics on my phone. Diagnostics showed current battery life of my phone, app usage etc. she made suggestions (rather snidely) on how I could improve battery life and then went to check for water damage by removing my sim card. Apparently the sticker inside was red indicating water damage and so my phone is not eligible for any service at Apple- the only thing they will do is replace the phone for $300. I was shocked because my phone has never been submerged in water and said "that is weird, I wonder how that happened? I have never dropped my phone in water" to which this employee responds "I don't know, it's not my phone." The fact that this rule exists is irritating but that really isn't the deal breaker. The consistent rude comments throughout the visit ending with that comment really put me over the edge. I have worked in retail and understand that it can be a frustrating environment but that is not how you speak to customers especially when products are as expensive as they are in the Apple store. To top off that terrible interaction I was there with a friend who has the same phone (but without the apparent water damage) and the employee that came to help her was pleasant and able to offer her a battery immediately because they had over 900 in stock! Not only was the woman that helped me rude, she was also incorrect about the information she provided! The other employee that helped my friend was pleasant and the only reason that I am not rating this place 1 star. The ease and convenience of the Apple store has long been the reason that I have chosen their products despite the high price tags. Every visit I have made recently has shown me that the benefits may no longer outweigh the cost- particularly if the genius bar staff are rude and dismissive. read more

It was my first time in Apple and no one was at the door to greet me so I wondered around until I found someone to help me. Not the best experience but Lehim if I'm spelling his name right, was awesome. I'd only return to this location if I'm in Lenox and just so happen to have a question, that I didn't feel like calling Apple Care about. The manager I assume that's her title, almost blamed me for not knowing who to ask for help. I just so happen to notice blue shirts with an Apple Logo and then had to find someone to actually speak to an corner down!! Holy Moly this Apple store is busy! Make sure you set up your genius bar appointment online ahead of time or you are in for a long wait (especially during back to school season). For minor purchases, you can usually get in and our pretty quickly. For the most part the employees in blue really know what they are talking about, or at least are willing to google an answer for you. A for effort! Mostly this store stocks all the peripherals you need (or they can order it for you if they run out), and of course there are the shiny new macs to play with. I came in 30 minutes before closing on a Friday, hoping to get squeezed in since the next available appt would have been days later, and inconvenient to boot. I made appts at the other locations just in case, but this one is the closest to me. The concierge took a look at my really old baby ( an 80gig classic), and scheduled me in for the the next day at 10:30am (yes!). Apparently, the concierges have magical scheduling powers that we mere mortals have no access to. So I arrived at 10:15 the next day, and was outta there, new baby in hand by the time my scheduled appointment was to begin. It was hard leaving the old one there, but hey that's what apple care's for. I'm happy. read more

One word comes to my mind after entering this place: pompous. That's how the employees act as salespeople. If you're not a Mac, IPod, IPhone, or IPad owner, you're not cool. My ass I'm not cool and I don't need material possessions to establish my coolness. Pretty and overpriced is what comes to mind. The Ipod is still the best player out there for the money but why even bother with a Nano, other than it being cute? This place is more of a cult than a store but it sure is entertaining to watch the many plebes buy into the cult speak. Also not a fan of their "genius" bar. No solutions to deal with problems other than let's send it off for some money, charge you for saving your information on your item still under warranty, and the worst, "Doh. You're one week past your ONE year warranty and your Ipod hard drive crashed" I can't help you." Doesn't take a "genius" to figure out that that's an example of poor customer service. That pretty much ended the relationship for me. My IPod, that was protected in a case, without any scratches and was kept safe stopped working just after a year and no solution is offered? The guy was pretty arrogant about his explanation as well. Unfortunately, I can't type the words I used to him after essentially being made to feel like a used car. By the way, the IPad doesn't run Flash. That's just another example of complete failure on Apple's part. OK at first I was perturbed! I was looking around for someone to help me and no-one was available. I agree with others. A ton of people go in with no intention to buy. But they are so interested they will take so much time asking questions to the sales assistants. I personally cannot figure out who in the world will spend so much time gazing at a product with no intent to buy. I do that with one item - But I am upfront with all sales people and say I am just browsing and not looking to buy. So today - Apple store. I was in the accessories dept and looking around for help because I had several questions. Finally, someone comes up to ask if anyone needed help in the area I was in and a cute, made up. boppy little girl says "No, I have an appointment for my phone" and the guy starts chatting her up. It was obvious to me and a gentleman next to me that we both needed help. And it seemed this sales asst. ignored our questionable looks on our faces. I was probably in there for a good 10 minutes before I finally went all the way to the other side of the store and grabbed a guy to help me. Once I got the answers to my questions - I gathered the 3 things I went in there to buy and was out in 10 minutes. I paid right there, put my items in my purse and had my receipt e-mailed to me. Love the place. They had what I needed and wanted. And he did not try and sell me the most expensive items of the three things. Very impressed. If I had assistance right when I walked in it would of been a quick trip that I had planned on. Excellent! My iPhone 5 was really giving me issues so I logged on to the apple website and made an appointment and went to the store. My appointment was at 3pm and they didn't even call my name, they walked up to me at 3:00 on the dot and took me over to the genius bar. They listened to my issue with great attention. After I explained the problem, she looked at it and decided it needed to be replaced. She helped me back up my phone and reload the new one. I walked out of the apple store at 3:15 with a new iphone. Unfortunately there is not a score below "1" this place sucks balls! Came by and made an appointment at noon for next available and they said it would be 3-4 hours. No problem since I work less than 30m away. I get the text message and respond with the 30m extension and get a message 4 minutes later saying my appointment was cancelled. So I get here and they "fix it" and I'll be helped right away. Here I am 30 minutes later, still haven't been helped. Did I mention this place sucks BALLS!!!? read more

Dear Apple and consumers interested in Apple products; I have been a customer for several years now, and enjoyed the products you have offered. I never dealt with the customer service until now though, and I am turned away from Apple products for good. I was recently prompted for an iOS 7 update on my iPhone 5. After reading through the update, and seeing people raving about how great it was I downloaded it. I instantly began having issues. Weird battery life, crashing, freezing, ect. Several days later, iOS 7.0.2 was available, and I thought surely this would fix all my problems. Two days later, my phone was crashing and shutting off every 5 minutes or so. My battery finally died, and along with it so did my phone. After this point my phone would boot up, and fade out. A never ending cycle. I took my phone to this Apple store. One tech told me he had never seen this issue before, and could not find a remedy for the error code given. Upon further investigation, at the present time I was 11 days past my 1yr warranty date and said I can buy a new one if I wanted. I told him no thank you, and walked away. I came back in and spoke with a new tech this time. I let him know I spoke with a tech and said he had never seen this and had no remedy. This new tech told me not to worry. He was very optimistic. He said customers have been coming in all day with very similar problems, at least a couple dozen, and he knew the issue and could help me. In fact, there was a girl he was working with along side of me, who had a very similar issue. He explained to us the problem, which was because of the new iOS 7. He stated the only phones coming in with problems were iPhone 4, 4s, and 5, but not the iphone 5c or 5s. The reason being, the older phones were not intended for use with iOS 7 and was causing a malfunction along the way. After many different attempts on both phones, he was displeased to announce to us he could not salvage either phone. Upon further investigation, BOTH the girl and I were 11 days past our warranty, and he could do nothing. We both asked to speak with the store manager. The manager came out, and was polite, and did offer us some ways to remedy the problem, all of which would cost $270 or more. She said she understood that the new software was the cause of the issue, but because of the 11 days past the warranty she could not swap our phones out for a new one. If this was a problem I inflicted on the phone, I would not be so outraged, but the fact they told me the problem was on Apple's end and still could not help me is what makes me angry. If I would have never updated, I would still have a working phone, hmm..... At the end of my 3+ hour trip in the Apple store, I walked out the same as I had entered, lost in the city without a working phone. But I did learn, Apple is a company I would rather not do business with any longer. read more
