Very bad experience!!! I took my computer to GIM Computers to get my O/S upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. The technician that took my computer in was only interest in selling me some hard drive. Before he even touched my computer he told me that I needed a new hard drive. He promised me specific services and never delivered on his promises. When I got home I even called him to make It clear that I was not interested in a new hard drive and to confirm the agreed upon services and it did no good. He kept my computer all day and over night and charged me a $45.99 technical service fee. He never upgraded my O/S from Windows 7 to Windows 10. He told me that he tried to upgrade my O/S for two hours and was unable to do it. Business must be slow because it seems he was in desperate need the bill tech service fees. This guy spoke very bad broken English. He was very arrogant and rude. He talked to me like I was a complete idiot. If you value good customer service and honesty I suggest you avoid GIM Computers. read more

I've visited GIM computers for repairs on multiple items on multiple occasions. They do great work! The price of repair is stellar, they texted me when my items were done and they gave me the most candid info on why my items didn't work and how to keep them in top shape. I went to 3 other companies before this one and had still had persistent issues with my equipment, hence my need for another repair shop. I'm thrilled with the results they were able to get me and plan to go to i other repair shop in the future. I'm a graduate student at SCAD Atlanta, here from Michigan. I've been coming here for years bought all my mac's hadalit of lap tops repaired never any issues.

Was extremely helpful and went out of his way to explain things I never would have thought of and even gave me a small component I didn't know I needed for free. Entertained my many questions and genuinely wanted me to be able to solve my power supply issues. Even made sure the right connector was on the power supply I bought before I left so I didn't waste my time. I'm glad I didn't go to Best Buy. GIM Computers saved me a huge headache. read more

I bought a MacBook Pro charger and the charger stopped working after 45 days. I brought the charger back in and the person at the front desk had such a horrible attitude and yelled at me, before telling me I was covered under warranty. He eventually tossed me a replacement onto the desk and I left. The charger went out 2 months later and the same guy told me he didn't care what I said because my warranty was up. Customer service is horrible here if you have a problem. The guy threw the charger at me and never offered a refund in the first place. This place sells defective products. read more

The (male) owner was very nasty to me over the phone and provided poor customer service when I got to the store. As I was talking with him, he stormed away and would not answer my questions. I have used them for IT repairs over the years as well as purchased several laptops but I plan to take my business elsewhere. They don't deserve my business or the money I have given them. GIM Computers is an outstanding local resource, as a small company owner I have purchased several machines from them over the years with no problems. By no problems; I mean that when there was a service issue it was dealt with in a friendly, quick, and reasonable manner. As with all technology some maintenance and repairs are normal. GIM is a great example of the kinds of small business with precious local expertise that we need in our community. For those who have given low ratings on this site, I suspect that part of the problem is with them or how they interact with other people. Often when you get service from GIM it is one of the Owners who helps you, who have always provided outstanding customer service and problem solving- an outstanding value for the amount paid. read more

I have used them to build workstations for firms for over 15 years. I was referred to them my computer tech guy who is excellent himself. He would only use GIM. Most recently my hard drive crashed on my laptop. They put in a new hard drive and got it back to me within 24 hours. Always very knowledgeable. Many computer geeks i know swear by them. Bought one laptop and it turned out well. Went back 9 months later and bought another. Charged battery and charge lasted about 30 minutes. Tried again but it still would not stay charged more than 40 minutes even without using it. Since the purchase was less than 15 days ago, I called. Owner said warranty was only if something not working. He said I should have asked if battery was new or how good it was. Would not even consider looking at laptop. I have spent about $600 at this establishment and was still under warranty. Never again. Nice when you are buying. Not so nice when you want done still under warranty. Beware. read more

I'm a graduate student at Georgia Tech and they recommended this store when I needed to fix my macbook. However, I don't understand how they have so many good reviews. I didn't experience anything nice but really bad customer service. I called them a week ago to make sure they were open when I wanted to visit. But they were really rude on the phone. I don't know why. I should not gone this store when they were not nice on the phone but since Tech recommended so I just went. Because I trusted Tech more than anything. But I regret it. I'm glad many people experienced nice things about them but they have really bad customer service. I went there but I left when they were being rude in person. I do not recommend this store to anyone. Even if Georgia Tech recommend here, you should go to big stores with a nice customer service(so they WILL repair everything and even if they screw it up somehow, they WILL provide proper service anyways) I have seen some reviews on google that customers had to pay extra even when they didn't properly sell/fix. I should have kept in mind those reviews before I visited to this store. I think this store is family business so it is really small. I've used GIM three times now - over probably about the last year - and they are knowledgeable and very helpful.

Horrible experience. I would suggest that if you have computer work to be done, you go to one of the big stores that have good customer service and that is going to be accountable for their work. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice shame on me. We paid a ridiculous amount of money to have a server built that would automatically back up and notify us when the system wasn't functioning correctly. Now they are telling us, some other story. If you didn't set something up right, just be a man and own up to it. I wasn't even asking for my money back, even though you cost my business tens of thousands of dollars and man hours, but how are you going to charge me a $59.99 diagnostic fee to tell me that you basically screwed me the first time i trusted you to build a proper system for me. LESSON LEARNED!!! You make it bad for other small business owners. You make people want to only trust big businesses that actually have the money to backup their mistakes. I will never buy a computer or server again from a small company. And the way you talked to me & my company was atrocious like we are sub-human although we have spent thousands of dollars with you. read more
