I had purchased AppleCare+ at the same time but yet have been given the run around for the last three weeks regarding my repair. They've advised that the part needed for the repair is out of stock, and that aside their repair quote came to £969.83. Surely Apple can offer me a brand-new replacement instead because I am covered by insurance right? Wrong. I'm expected to keep waiting on a repair while they wait for the part which could be months at this point (as well as being expected to pay £229 for the excess). Despite contacting Apple numerous times they have been unwilling to assist me further. What's worse is that Apple continues to sell MacBooks when they know they don't have the parts to repair them. This is extremely unethical. The staff at their Regent Street store dared to suggest I buy and return a MacBook every 14 days (no questions asked policy) until my repair has been completed. How does my Apple insurance help me here? It doesn't. And I am beyond outraged at this point. Just another company willingly taking advantage of their consumers without a care in the world.

Apple is one of my favourite brands so it is nice to see them have a location in one of my favourite malls, Westfield Stratford City. They have made some effort into making this store look nice, although like 99.9% of mall locations, this store always seems so overcrowded and packed, although they have been adding some extra precautions to try and make this easier due to the pandemic, which I hope will remain a permanent feature. The staff seem friendly enough (never in doubt with Apple!) and there is obviously a great selection of Apple tech in order here. The "Today at Apple" area could be more prominent similar to other stores, I think this is something Apple at Manchester Arndale (my local store) does better. A slightly larger seating area which is cooler, for waiting customers / Genius Bar would also be an improvement to make in the future. 4*

Well, "just in case" happened last week when the sad, little hard drive on my Macbook Air failed. Nonplussed (because I back up regularly like a good little doobie and you should, too!), I walked on over to Londonmac. There I found informative and courteous service. Turnaround was quick and since I didn't have or need an appointment for service, I was well-impressed to get a call that my computer was ready the next day. Price-wise, labour was about £65/hour and while I'm sure I paid over the odds for the replacement hard drive, it was worth it. I think I could've got the drive cheaper online, but was I really going to a) wait for it to be delivered, b) be assured that the drive was from a reputable source, and c) find someone to install it? No, on all counts, especially since the last time I tried to take apart a Mac (just for kicks) all of the teeny tiny screws just about drove me out of my teeny tiny mind! That said, I did ask about a replacement battery for another laptop and the nice woman working there did advise that I could get a cheaper, 3rd party battery online---less than anything she'd have in store. That's integrity. They had some Apple products in store, look to do a roaring trade in iPod repair, and also do data recovery. Out of warranty and lacking AppleCare, I wouldn't hesitate to entrust my Apple gadgets with Londonmac. Thanks to them, I (and my laptop) live to torment Yelp another day.

Here is what had happened to me and how they have helped me: A bottle of water had leaked in my handbag and caused horrible liquid damage on my MacBook Pro (mid-2015, 15inch). The water got inside the Retina display, and the screen did not light up anymore. Another repair shop that I contacted initially claimed that the damage was beyond repair. But I urgently need the MacBook for my work, and I cannot live without it. Thus, in a state near total despair, I contacted the Mac Response Centre hoping that they would be able to help me - and they absolutely did! I could not have had any more positive experience: They immediately got in touch and had a look at the computer as soon as I arrived. They ran various diagnostics to find out what the exact problem was. It turned out that the main board was still functioning but needed ultra-sonic cleaning to avoid/remove corrosion and that the screen would need to be replaced. The replacement screen was delivered within very quickly (within two days), and I was able to collect the computer immediately on the same day as soon as the screen had been delivered. While I was waiting for the screen to be replaced, I was provided with a replacement MacBook Pro (in which my own hard drive had been inserted), so that I did not lose any further work time. The total price for all of this was extremely reasonable (in particular, compared to what some of the other options were that I had considered before, such as buying a refurbished or new machine). On a final note, I would like to add that the staff working at the Mac Response Centre are not only highly competent and helpful, but also very welcoming, kind, polite, and friendly. In total, the repair service was extremely professional, very fast, friendly and reasonably priced. I would like to strongly and warm-heatedly recommend this service to anyone who experiences any Mac problem. Therefore, very solid five stars (it should be six!) for how excellent and competent the service was and for how well I was treated as a customer here. I went a while ago with my mac because it is closer than the apple store. they tested my mac and told me they could fix it for GBP450 ! I told them that I thought that was expensive and they said they could do it cheaper but were then not able to fix everything. I decided not to do it so I paid the GBP45 "check fee". Next day I went to apple store Covent Garden. They checked my Mac and it wasn't too bad. I could leave it there and they would let me know when it was ready. The following day I was contacted by them that I could pick it up. Cost: GBP 31 !!
