It's definitely different, being that there really aren't any dog parks in the high desert, but it's definitely a good venue both to socialize our pups and socialize with others in the neighborhood. There are lots of toys left over that the dogs play with, so no need to to bring your own tennis balls. My only concern is the gate, which doesn't have a latch (so if a dog is smart, it could figure out how to open the gate on its own).

Clean puppy.. Dirty puppy. Jax ( a Belgian Malinois ) LOVES water, the muddier the better. Time to go to the groomers! .. Again.

I travel for a living- with not one, not two but THREE dogs. Obviously a dog park is a MUST! This particular one is 15 minutes away from my hotel. ( The Green Tree ) I've taken advantage of it for the first time today. ( Kinda hard to find, as far as Yelp directions go. Just follow the cars to the kids park, the dog park shares the same parking lot. ) There's two sections, one for the big dogs and one for the smaller dogs. I utilize the bigger dog park, even though I have a Shiba Inu. He's grown up around my Husky, & my Belgian Mali ( as well as various pitbulls that we travel with. ) so he's a tuff little guy. There's tons of water bowls, but the fountain doesn't work in the winter so be sure to bring some water! There were a few balls, tons of destroyed balls, and a rope toy or two, so that was nice. It's a large grassy area, so of COURSE Jax ( my Mali ) wound up finding a couple mud puddles ..

I'm a dog sitter and this is my go to dog park! Plenty of nice people and never had any issues with any other dog. I wish there were more shade and if the grass was better maintained. It's always out of poop bags so I recommend bringing your own but there's a fountain for the dogs and water bowls there to fill. There's two sides, one for small dogs and one for large dogs which is very convenient. The park itself is very nice and feels very safe.

Meeting and playing with lots of new friends!

We're so grateful to have a dog park to take our 4 dogs to. Our large dogs are great with all size dogs but I'm grateful that there's two parks for both small and large dogs so that when there's a lot of dogs at the park it doesn't get too chaotic. The maintenance is kept up, and almost all owners are great about cleaning up after their dogs. There has always been extra water bowls, random tennis balls, and the park authorities are awesome about keeping the poop bags in stock! We've gone on different days of the week but Sunday afternoon seems to be the best time we've gone, lots of dogs! Although we are happy to have a local dog park we hope one of these days one will open in Victorville, because trekking 4 large dogs all the way to AV is quite a trip. And the Hesperia one is further than the AV one. Thank you AV for opening this great dog park, and keeping it clean!!

Had recently moved up to the High Desert and we got Finn, was looking for a park to try and socialize him and the closest one was Apple Valley dog park. So glad we checked it out...it's alittle out of the way from my house but so worth it. It has the 2 separate sides for the large and small dogs and it's fenced. It's pretty big too, so they have alot of space to run around and play. I recommend it to anyone looking for a place to take their pups!

My dogs are the pug and Labrador.

I love this dog park & so do my dogs ! However . One person brings his GSD which bullies the other dogs . No fault of the park , but please don't bring your adult dogs if they're aggressive. There's other ways to socialize them.

    Resting after playing hard!

Our dogs had a great time at the park today, nice they have two areas, one for big dogs & one for small. The high desert needs more places like this and less ugly strip malls where half the stores are out of business in less than a year.

Great place to bring your pup! Everyone I've met there has been really nice and the dogs I've met seem to play well with each other. It's clean and big and great! My dog always takes a nice long nap after.

One of the few places that actually has grass. It's nice that the park is separated into small dogs and big dogs.

Wow this park is amazing, it was very windy and foggy but the kids didn't mind. We brought blankets so through them over us lol and walked over. They have swings when you first walk up, but if you walk a bit further they have the playground. They also have a tennis or bad mitten court and basketball courts too. The playground is so nice and clean and they have a cool zip line for the kids to play on, they loved that so much and had a blast going on it lol. It even has a cute little gazebo such a beautiful park. The girls had a blast we would love to come here again. If you have never been to MacKay Park you should if you have little ones it's really beautiful here. Even if you don't it's peaceful and in the mountains and so lovely. The parking lot is pretty big too so plenty for everyone. Have a beautiful day, be kind to everyone :) Aloha

Upon arriving, parking lot is not as big as you would expect, we squeezed in besides the trash cans to park, however it was really clean, and everyone's vibe is nothing but smiles and nods. They do have bathrooms, on the right hand side near the parking lot are swings, to the left and middle part closer to the parking lot has two pickleball courts, and if you walk past the swings the walkway leads to a view and a children's playground. My fiancée and I came for the dog park, which was literally a walk to the left past the actual parking lot. Spacious with a few trees and limited spots for shade. But enough room for your furry friends to stretch their legs!

Sometimes they can be seen wandering around The Ranch Park, especially when it's early in the morning or late in the evening and not super crowded. There's a really nice fenced in dog park (The Ranch Bark Park), but also lots of other features including a playground, climbing rock, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a ADA-friendly walking path. Parking has never once been an issue in all the years that I've been visiting this park. There's a large free lot in the center of the park, as well as an additional lot across the street, and other places in the neighborhood where you could park on the street if you needed to. No structured bathrooms, but lots of porta potties that are regularly checked and usually pretty clean.
