The three times I've gone with my family, we've enjoyed the food. We also enjoyed the service of the waiter, who was very kind to us.

It took a bit for someone to wait on us but the place was busy. Our waiter Josh was very nice and pleasant to speak with. We ordered a beer and a Tall whiskey sour. (was not tall and beer not full) Not sure whose fault but minor so we didn't complain at the time. We were just to tired from traveling 600 miles and we were hungry! We ordered Broccoli Chicken Alfredo which was very good and a huge amount of food. I also had a Caesar salad which was very good. Though this Applebees is actually a locals hangout; everyone is welcome. it's still as good as when the franchise was brand new. I am starting this review as I walk into Applebees. We come in there are two ladies and one guy all standing at the host stand and there's no greeting, they just ignored us , directly in front of us, for about 45 seconds before they finally asked how many. They're literally just standing there unsure about if there's seating or a wait time. After getting a "15 to 10min wait" we sit down on this clearly crowded bench. The lobby is already very small and the sitting area takes up two walls , but one wall is filled with a dirty bus tub, an extra chair and table, cleaning supplies , and random styrofoam plates. My friend and I went to have the lunch before 3 . There is no one at the bar , so we sit. The bartender took our drink order and continued to do other tasks . We were sitting there 10 mins after the lunch specials ended and she says there is nothing she can do to adjust the pricing for our wait. Got any extremely rude young girl very snappy and rude no mannerisms. I was only going by their app and menu online and their price I ordered read everything out and the price. Without explaining anything she rung me up for what she wanted to ring me up for then got very argumentative with me instead of explaining what the price was since they app info was incorrect. Because the amount didn't make any sense I advised her about being so rude and argumentative instead of explaining to me. She really put me on hold without my knowledge if they didn't have a hold I would have been hung up on and put a manager on the line that paid absolutely no attention to me then wanted me to turn around and repeat everything I said. We ate at the restaurant in Clinton Ms yesterday Feb. 10th. It was for a late birthday lunch. The restaurant was busy, but it was no excuse for poor service. Our waitress took our order for drinks and appetizers. The drinks were brought to the table in a descent amount of time. The two appetizers were cheese sticks and pretzel bars. We did not receive our appetizers until our entrees came out. Leaving us to choose between eating hot appetizers or our hot entrees. I think this was the first time we ever left appetizers not eaten on our table. Two people at our table ordered alcohol drinks. They were going to order more, but didn't have time due to not knowing how long it would take to receive their drinks. We also wanted to order desert, but same delimma on how long it would take. People come to restaurants to eat entrees. Selling alcohol drinks and deserts are extra revenue that servers are judged by. Make sure your staff understands that it is a loss of revenue. I'm not going to disclose the server's name. Just a reminder that every customer makes a choice to patronize your restaurant. Bad reviews is not good for business!!! read more

SOOOOOO.....I will NEVER eat at another applebees as long as I live....and especially NOT in Clinton, MS. I placed an order on their page May 19, 2021. Doordash driver Davonta G. picked up food. She hung up on me 2x when I was attempting to provide her directions to my house so she never showed up (probably kept the food for herself). So I called doordash and they said Applebees will issue refund; Applebees said doordash will issue refund. Long story short: Applebees took my money and corporate would not issue refund. I was told to contact my bank and do a non-fraudulent charge dispute. How's that for customer service??? read more

I wish there was a negative star option. Let me tell you about my experience, good lord. It was about 11 pm when my friend and I decided to swing by Applebees for a couple of drinks and some food. Our waiter was very friendly, despite the horrible wait for food and drinks. We were there for about an hour and a half just because of how long it took everything to come out - which I guess I didn't really mind, since it tasted good and I'm a patient person. But the bartender was horrible. She was a heavier set, light skinned woman with a tight black bun. We didn't sit at the bar, but I had a clear view of her (and excellent hearing). And, we had been waiting about 15 minutes for our final drink order. I watched as our waiter attempted to take the drinks from her, only to fail as she held one of the cups away from him and loudly said: "They can wait." Words cannot explain how MAD I was at that moment. We had already waited for 15 minutes. When our waiter came over with part of the drink order I scoffed: "So she finally let you bring our drinks?" To which he gave me a horrified expression (probably because he realized that I had heard her) and answered: "Sorry about that, she's kinda mean." Immature was probably a better word. Or unprofessional. I did appreciate the fact that the manager attempted to reach out to me after I sent them a negative review, but I'm past any point of return. And I'm only posting this to warn others. If you're craving Applebees, I suggest trying any other location. read more

I went here for a family dinner for the first time in over a decade. The service is some of the best I have ever had in Mississippi. But the food! Holy moly the food is bad. It's basically McDonald's served in a sit-down setting. The fried chicken seems ground up and reformed. We just didn't feel good after eating there (not food sickness, but sluggish and gross). It did not sit well. The food quality is super bad, it seems like it is full of weird cheap filler ingredients. Wendy's has better food, and that is no joke. The other weird thing was that the ceiling was dripping in the walk way. It was very close to dripping into people's plates. Go next door to Frogheads. It's less busy and a zillion times better. I have been going to this location for some time now. Tonight was different. We were greeted and promptly seated. TWENTY MINUTES later when NO waiter had shown up to take our order, the wife and I decided to leave. For the entire 20 minutes I had direct eye contact with the Hostess in charge of seating. Not once did she ask us if our waiter had come nor did she seek out our waiter. She watched for 20 minutes and did absolutely nothing. He asked someone else to get it who bought out 1 set of silverware , even though I was with another person , and to top it off there where DISGUSTING ( picture included ). We had been on the road since 6am and were starving! We usually skip the appetizer but ordered onion rings because we were so hungry. My husband ordered club soda the waitress didn't know what that was and had to check if they had it. I ordered the chicken chopped salad with no chicken or cheese and vinagrette dressing. My husband ordered portabello mushrooms and chicken with no chicken no cheese and broccoli instead of potatoes. The server asked him to confirm no chicken twice. We have dietary restrictions. 3 times she told us she would have his club soda out in just a minute. 15 minutes later he got his drink and said it tasted really bad. Our server was in the middle of resolving issues at 3 other tables and was no where in sight so I requested a glass of water from the bar tender. Who proceeded to yell across the place that the customer with the club soda now wanted water. When our food finally arrived without our appetizer onion rings ever arriving, mine was just lettuce and tortilla strips, no salsa. My husbands food came with chicken cheese and potatoes. When he told the server he ordered it without chicken and cheese she said "are you joking?" Then I pointed out that we also never got our onion rings and she huffed and walked off. We debated leaving for a couple minutes because we never do that, but we had only had water. And based on all the unhappy faces in her section it was going to take a long time if ever to get our order correct. So we looked for a manager to tell them we were leaving because our server was gone again. Finally we were going to walk to the kitchen to find anyone who worked there when our server popped out from the back still holding my husbands entree a good 5 minutes since she walked away from our table. My husband told her we were leaving and we left. I can't recall leaving a place where we had ordered food EVER in our 27 year marriage. This was the worst Applebees experience we have ever had. We may never go to any applebees again. Very disapointing!!! Our server was Liz she said to call her Lizzy. I was driving from Houston to Jackson and was craving a steak and beer and this restaurant was open late so I gave it a shot. They were packed so I took a seat at the bar. Got myself a beer and ordered my food (top sirloin medium rare and mashed potatoes and broccoli).... THE FOOD WAS PERFECTION. Seriously, my steaks are often either at the improper temperature or the seasonings are meh-but not tonight. WOW....the chef tonight did a PHENOMENAL job. I ate every last bite. The food was incredible. The bartender Jessica took amazing care of me-and every server walking by had a smile on their face. This kind of dining experience was exactly what I needed after a long 7 hour drive. This was my first time here and I will most definitely come again next time I pass through. I typically only write reviews for really good or really bad experiences and I truly appreciate the servers that do an amazing job to where I'm compelled to leave a five star review. Stopped in here on my way through town as a last resort, after being unable to find the restaurant my mother and I really wanted to go to. While I have never been a fan of Applebee's, I have to admit I'm shocked by the bad reviews. We were seated immediately and our server was incredibly attentive, even though the restaurant was relatively busy for a Monday night. We decided to go with the 2 for $20 promo, with a spinach dip appetizer. The dip was okay, but came out very quickly which I appreciated. Applebee's has long been one of my favorite places to eat in Clinton and is a local hangout for students of Mississippi College. I've had enjoyable food and service whenever I've gone so I'd normally recommend this place. After my last visit there, however, I simply cannot say that I'd go back again. The reason is as follows: It is simply not safe. When I last went there, I pulled into a very full parking lot and found a space after someone left. Before I could even get out of my car, a large truck began honking repeatedly and blocked me in! They were obviously mad that I had taken one of the few parking spots in the lot but then they proceeded to get out of their truck and came up to my car window. They then very threateningly asked me to move my car because the spot was theirs. I can understand getting mad about the spot. I can even understand honking at me (it's rude but I can understand it). What I can't accept is that they blocked me in and threatened me unless I left! While Applebee's didn't do anything to cause this unfortunate occurrence, if this is the type of person that is frequenting the place, then I will never go there again. Perhaps they should have a security guard in place so no one gets hurt. It is very sad to see this type of behavior in my hometown and I hope I never see it again. read more

Not only is this place incredibly understaffed, the staff they do have is rude and were literally talking about us within earshot. 3 of the seven meals brought to us were incorrect. After we sent my boyfriends meal back, they brought the exact same meal out about 10 minutes later. He ended up just keeping it to end the conflict between our table and the waitress. My favorite thing about Applebee's is the food when/if it's done correctly. Sometimes I order things and it tastes amazing but other times it's gross. The service is ok. However, I cant tell you how the food is because NO ONE and I mean NO ONE ever came by to greet us with even a drink order. There was a few problems....#1 the waitress was not friendly and welcoming. #2 when she brought our drinks my hubbys cup was so greasy it slid right out of his hand with the waitress standing there. Instead of cleaning it up or even trying to get us napkins she said let me go ahead and take ur order then she would clean it up. Ok fine we went ahead with tea everywhere and gave her our order. Then she didn't even bring napkins or attempt to get it up we had to get someone else to bring us napkins and the young man was nice and friendly and wiped it up but then it was sticky and we had to ask someone else to bring some spray and napkins. My waitress Daisy was PHENOMENAL. Unfortunately, the kitchen was slow and it took half an hour for our food to come (party of four at 6:30). Daisy did a wonderful job of keeping us updated and brought my child his food when it came up since it was ready and our food took longer to cook. She was polite to him and he was so smitten with her! The food tasted good so it was worth the wait. The service was great even though the food took a little long to come out. read more
