Don't ever order food on any delivery app from here. They somehow get orders consistently wrong. 5 out of 7 orders I ordered from here got my entire meal wrong or theres missing items. Always decent food. Today I went for lunch and got one of the lunch combos - tomato basil soup and mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders. It was very good and a decent price for the quality. Their tomato basil soup is excellent and served with Parmesan cheese and thick croutons. For dessert, we ordered the butter blondie - a blondie brownie with walnuts and a maple butter sauce. It's always delicious and has a very interesting but tasty sauce. There are some good discounts on both entrees and appetizers between 3 and 6 Monday through Friday. read more

We visited one evening after an afternoon playing softball. We were all pretty hungry and we anxiously began to read the menu. The waiter was nice enough, and explained the happy hour specials, as it was 10pm. We ordered a wide array of appetizers and all were pretty much what we were expecting. To begin with, I frequently visit this location and I usually get service that is decent for a chain location. Today's service was far from that. I entered the establishment and was greeted by a host that told me to sit anywhere. I sat at the bar for the first time and was greeted with waters. We spent 5 minutes looking over the menu, closed them to show we were ready to order, and we were never looked st again. We then made an excuse to switch sections after the bartender made it apparent she didn't want to wait on us with an empty bar. After leaving the bar we sat at a booth with a handheld POS and made the orders ourselves. The appetizers came out in a timely manner from the kitchen, we were greeted from the manager with our order, and the rest was fine. The downside of the night again: it took quite a while for a salad to come out of the kitchen at 10 PM. I understand this review makes me look bad but having service where my appetizers, entrees, and drinks came out very quick and I was out the door quicker than I could type a review, it became something I looked forward too. The server of the section, Kasey, was super helpful. She had a smile on, she was very nice, and continually checked up on us. read more

The Dearborn Heights location on Ford Road is convenient for shoppers as the restaurant is located in the parking lot for The Heights strip mall. I have eaten here a number of times since 2003, most recently today for lunch. The restaurant is a great lunch spot during the week because it offers a combo deal, so you can select two items from a list of soups, salads, sandwiches and pastas. The tomato basil soup is very tasty and a great comfort food. The lunch combo is only served from 11-3 Monday -Friday though. The drink menu is full of delectable cocktails, including flavored sangrias. Both the red apple sangria and the white peach sangria are refreshing and served in a very large glass. Desserts here are also pretty good. Applebee's added shooters (which are popular desserts like chocolate mousse, cheesecake and hot fudge sundaes served in small glasses)to their menu a while back. The shooters are only $1.99 and just big enough to be satisfying without feeling sinful. I have always found the service at this Applebee's to be friendly and attentive. The tables and seats have always been clean, as are the restrooms. The decor reminds you of a neighborhood restarant, and pictures and jerseys from the local high school are mounted on the walls. There's definitely plenty to entertain your eyes. If you come for dinner or lunch on the weekend, you may have to wait a bit for a table to open. Oh boy, I've been sitting on this one for a while. But now.... its time. Oh Applebees, I've been in your restaurant since I was a kid and every time I went it was alright. But then I grew up and realized something. Applebees is trash. First of all, if you like eating out, go literally anywhere else. This is a trap, you pay so much for small portions of GFS stock. I ordered the Chicken Macaroni and it just fizzles in your mouth, there is 0 texture. The dish is on their 2 for 20 deal, which is a good deal if you're too lazy to spend any extra money on food, which in this case, it's better spending your hard earned cash outside of this establishment. The air inside Applebees is heavy, you can smell the dollar store food as soon as you walk in, it's always overcrowded with trashy people and flustered with screaming children. Applebees is any parents last resort, its pathetic this place still exists because of the shit they serve for the price. I can walk down the street from any Applebees and find something better to eat for any price. The servers dont know up from down, they take years to get to your table, and that's the worst thing about it. Why would I want to be stuck in a place like this for more than 10 minutes? It's not worth the wait, food, or effort to go here. I feel bad for the poor saps who go often. Applebees should be a one and done for all customers, actually, I wouldn't even make the first trip. Just had the worst experience of my life here. I got takeout. Pasta with the chicken on top. I sit down to eat my food, and it's a damn quarter in the bottom of it! I know mistakes happen so I wasn't even tripping. I called just to tell them so I can replace it. They put me on hold for 20 minutes after telling them my problem. Then the manager who I'll post on here, comes on the phone without even say his, and says "WELL DID YOU DROP YOUR CHANGE IN IT WHEN YOU PAID FOR IT?!!" I say sir, it's a plastic lid on it that's sealed. All I did was take the bag and go home. Didn't even check it. He says, well I guess we will replace it but if you come up here yelling I'm calling the cop! I get there, don't even yell. I tell him to just give me a refund because of how he came up on me looking all agitated. I can't trust that food. I get outside, cops pull up. This guy is the worst manager I have ever seen. My wife received a gift card to Applebee's; so, we stopped in to pick up a take out order for dinner. Normally, we don't stop in at Applebe's due to me being allergic to most of their menu. Unfortunately, my food allergies leads to me being extremely limited as to what I can order from Applebee's due to them posting very clearly on their menus that they cannot guarantee that their food will be allergen free. Unfortunately, rather than to dispel my misgivings about stopping off at the place, it confirmed my misgivings. Sure, the servers were friendly and helpful. However, my Fiesta Lime Chicken was overdone. The meat was tough. And while the melted cheese and tortilla strips were tasty and the melted cheese, and ranch topping for the chicken was tasty, the cook seemed to be afraid of seasoning the chicken itself. So, not only was the chicken tough and overdone, it was also bland. It needed the topping to add some sort of flavor. The rice was also on the bland side. My wife ordered one of their burgers. the cook forgot to put all of the toppings on it that she ordered. Otherwise, it was a tasty burger. However, she was disappointed to not get her burger her way. So, the back of the house failed the front of the house. The front of the house was friendly and helpful. The cooks messed up the orders. And this on top of my food allergies is why I try not to come in to this chain. read more

Eh, it's a chain restaurant. I almost always get the oriental chicken salad, which is hard to mess up. Last time I was at this location, we got seated, then waited about 15 minutes for someone to take our drink orders. Then it took about 10 minutes to get our drinks (pop and coffee). We got the 2 for $20 deal, which includes an appetizer. We got the onion rings, which were swimming in oil in the basket. Our food tasted fine, but my mom's entree looked like something you'd see in a prison cafeteria - no color or presentation whatsoever. I know it's not Roast or the Capital Grille, but geez. Make it appear appetizing, or at least how it looks in the menu. The service was a little lackluster that night, which was interesting considering there weren't many people there. Potentially the worst AppleBee's Ever! Food- Horrible. Came hoping to snag a few of my old favorites, since it has been a few years. It was horrible. Could barely eat the food. Service- worst of all. The girl kept coming back to our table after long periods of time complaining about what was going on with other tables and in the restaurant. Funny thing almost no one was there that night. The restaurant was fairly slow. I worked at an Applebee's for a couple years. This was a horrible example of the place I worked. Ambiance/Decor- Pretty typical to most Applebee's. Nothing special here. Overall, would never be back, hated the experience and seriously would not recommend this spot at all. We eat here alot, food is really consistent visit to visit. Yelp free app is awesome (thanks). One thing that bother me is the gift card offer they run. Buy a $50 gift card you get a bonus card ($5/$10 depends). But they wont let you use the gift card the day you buy it. The bonus card, I get it. You're trying to drum up repeat biz and thats ok/standard. But the original gift card?...why? Makes no sense. I can walk in at 4 and buy one and leave. Come back later for dinner and use it. But this one seems to have a high turnover and a problem with portioning and consistent hot temperatures for the food. However, the burgers are fantastic and the $1 monthly drink specials are what I go in for. Just order a burger and have several cocktails is what I recommend. No appetizers just mains, my steak was not the cut I ordered and was very fatty.
