This location was recently taken over by Applebee's corporate and it made a night and day difference in the operation. The food was good and service attentive. It could use a remodel but it is MUCH cleaner. Give it another chance if you gave up on the previous management. read more

My husband and I went to eat here for Father's day. It was awesome, the food was so very good, the service was wonderful. We will be eating here again in the future. The Chef even came out of the kitchen so we could thank him, and we even chatted with him for a bit. He is so nice and was very gracious to us. I would highly recommend eating here. read more

Went with my fam! This place was HORRIBLE!!! First off, the staff seem mentally slow and untrained, our server was complaining about other employees!! HOW RUDE! let's start from the beginning: We entered through the shopping plaza building and the door was LOCKED, so we had to walk outside to walk in, as we entered we notice the sign (photo attached) 5-10 minute wait for a table??? There were only a few people in there! Once we got in there were a bunch of people standing around the host stand and said NOTHING to us! Eventually we were seated, and ordered drinks, of course we haven't see our server so the busser took our drink order. Just to sum it up the food was AWFUL, the photo attached was supposed to be 4-cheese Mac and Cheese, which was awful looked like someone took a shit on some penne pasta! My shrimp was raw in the center, a quesadilla, the meat seemed raw in the center. Eventually I had to use the restroom, and let's just say I'd rather use a crackheads bathroom! It's actually hilarious there's a "bathroom cleaning schedule" hanging up as soon as you walk in, because it was DISGUSTING! And after all the awful things our server said "Y'all should catch us when we're slower" WHAT???? Absolutely horrible! Everything about this place is horrible! I went there with my cousin for lunch, all we ordered was soup and salad. It took over an hour to get our food, and there was only three tables! I ordered a margarita and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy... She said well we don't have a bartender so it might be a while. apparently nobody in that restaurant could make a margarita. Got curbside to go pickup order for over 100$ on Valentine's Day. And after waiting for over 40 minutes and after calling 4 times while getting put on hold and hung up on each time, someone finally came outside just to confirm the order. Got 3 steak and shrimp orders and they all didn't have Parmesan shrimp, went back to Applebees to pick up 3 new orders and instead they gave us 3 parmesan shrimp orders to apparently just put on our cold steaks now over an hour later. Refused to reseat us after seating a family next to use ignoring CDC guidelines for Covid in a nearly empty restaurant because they are operating at 100% capacity. The manager preferred to argue the point instead of seeing to the customer's comfort. Horrible attitude. As a REAL service dog user I was shocked when I was told I would not be seated because my service dog did not have his vest on or a "card" to show he was a service dog. I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that someone has been coming in for a long time and they always have their card to show their "registered service dog." I stated that any dog that has paper work showing "registration" as a service dog is not legitimate, as there is no national service dog registration. Manager then called her higher up and was told that she was wrong and I was right. Yes most of the time my dog has his vest but at this particular time he did not, we were in a friends vehicle and I made a mistake of forgetting to bring the vest . Service dogs are NOT required by the ADA to wear vest or anything specifying that they are a service dog. Manager apologized and gave us a free appetizer, but the damage was done. I was embarrassed, and honestly just down right upset because so many fake "service dogs" ruin it for the people who actually need their dogs to preform their daily activities. But while this is true, the staff and especially the management should know the laws and protocols when working in a public establishment. This experience lasted a total of about 30 minutes of embarrassment before even being seated. This was an extremely embarrassing night for me and my friend . I have not been back and don't plan on it. I just hope that Applebee's district management did some extra training and supplied adequate information to their managers and employees at this location after this incident. read more

I've never had a terrible experience at an Applebee's until I went to this one. Aside from all the people at the bar who appeared to be regulars, there were 3 tables with customers seated. It took 10 minutes for the waitress to come to my table for my drink order. I ordered a Coors Light, the waitress returned saying they didn't have Coors Light. I asked her what they did have and the only one she named that was on the menu was Bud Light, so that's what I ordered. She returned after a few minutes to take my food order. I ordered Onion Rings as an appetizer and the Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp as an entree. My entree was brought out before my drink and my appetizer. Called the manager over to see about getting order fixed and was then told that our waitress was packing up our fixed order. Well 30 minutes later when we finally were able to hunt down an employee so we could just pay for our screwed up order and leave. The manager Danny was completely rude and basically accused of us lying about the food not being right because he says he keyed in exactly what the waitress wrote down. As a healthcare worker it's totally understandable that everyone is short staffed and we were more than patient as the waitress stated she was knew. Who knew an Applebee's could be so much fun? I walked over from my hotel to the shopping mall which is home to this Applebee's. There was a crowd at the entry waiting for tables, but no waiting for service at the bar. As I seated myself, the others seated at the bar (all locals) introduced themselves and were super-friendly. I love frequenting this place while I'm in town, but the bar area smells like dirty mop water. The smell is very pungent, and it takes away from the experience of nice night out for a drink. My friends were sitting at the bar and had similar complaints, but unfortunately no efforts were made to rectify the situation. I have been going to Applebee's in Dyersburg since they opened in the mid-90s. I have been very satisfied with most visits, and all have been very close to perfect the past couple of years for sure. The food, the timeliness, the service of the host/hostess, servers, cooks, managers, and bartenders have all been great. Over the years the menu has changed considerably, and overall I think it has improved a lot in variety. I try new items almost every visit. Occasionally I revert back to some old favorites like a Bourbon Street steak or quesadilla burger and fries. Great sweet tea. Great mixed cocktails. Good appetizers which are reduced in price late at night if you eat-in. I recommend if you want some no frills, affordable, quick American food with a sports bar-type atmosphere with multiple Tv's playing throughout the restaurant, upbeat music playing overhead, a sit down bar with sports playing and an attentive bartender, friendly and fast staff, yet also family friendly. read more

We went here last night and I've never had such a bad waitress in my life. What made it worse is she was training the nicest woman. The waitress took forever to get our food to us, it had been cooked. she said she was waiting on one order of onion rings, that the rest was ready, and she'd bring it all out when the onion rings were ready. Everything was cold except the onion rings. We waited an hour for our food, 20 minutes after getting our food she starts asking if she can take plates out of our way when none of our plates were empty. I said no. About 10 minutes later she asks if we are ready for our check Or if she can take the empty plates again. I hurried and took my last bite and let her take my plate. She came back 5 minutes later and asked if we needed to go trays. i said yes and the check. After she gave us the check, we hadn't put a card or money down yet (about 5 minutes). She did not walk by to notice this. She walks up and stands there and says are you guys ready for me to take care of this? I just looked at her like .... No, in just a second... My boyfriend goes ahead & pulls out his wallet, because she said, "That's ok we aren't doing anything anyway" and proceeds to stand there waiting and watching us count our money. We were rushed out of there and I don't know why. We weren't loud, they were not busy at ALL, I don't understand what the problem was. This was an 80 dollar experience ruined. And my 3 year old daughter wasn't done eating. Horrible. read more

On Feb 1, 2021, my wife & I visited the Dyersburg, TN Applebee's at 5PM. We were wearing masks, & seeing that the restaurant was not busy, we decided to eat there. We were seated in a booth along the back of the restaurant, in an empty section. We ordered. After our drinks came, the same person seated a family of 3, w/ a young child, in the booth directly behind me. I heard the parents wondering if it was safe sitting so close. We then asked the seater why he would sit someone directly behind me, when the area was otherwise empty. Why would he not skip a booth to maintain social distancing? His reply was "we are at 100% capacity and our guidelines are to seat by section." We walked to the front & asked for a manager. A young woman came out & asked what the problem was. We explained our position, that even if the county is allowing 100% capacity, when there are only 5 tables in use, the smart thing to do is skip tables in the middle of a pandemic. She reiterated the explanation of "We are at 100% capacity and our guidelines are to seat by section." We were not offered to be moved. The other family was not offered to be moved. This is a flagrant disregard for the health & safety of your customers. It is poor customer service on the part of both of your employees. She was not interested in making us comfortable eating in her restaurant. Needless to say, we left immediately & went to a restaurant that skipped booths. We will not be going to this Applebee's again. read more

My husband and I went here last night with two other couples. We occasionally come here from time to time. This time the experience was extremely bad. Our waitress was not a good server. We waited forever for our drinks. Had to ask three time to get a water. The food was great. When we got our receipts mine was and another couple with us was wrong. We told her about it and said she would fix it before she charged us. When she finally came back with our cards we noticed she never did fix the receipts before she swiped them. read more

Ok I've tried it again here and my app came out with no plates. My entree came out sauce less and bread less. Had the manager came out about our sauce issue we waited about 15 mins before we got the sauce from the time we got sauce the rest was cold and the sauce wasn't even enough to cover the noodles at all.
