It had been years since my last visit and it was just like old times. The food was just like I remember and great portion sizes. My kids loved the appetizers and they are half off if you visit during the right times. My only complaint is that they were very under staffed. OK, this is a chain restaurant, so I am not going to go through my typical, detailed review. What I will say is: That our server was excellent. She was very pleasant and attentive. I ordered from the special, 2 for $27 menu. I had a garden salad and the shrimp and chicken entree. Both were very good. The salad was fresh, had plenty of toppings and came with an ample amount of salad dressing (not always the case in lots of restaurants). The entree was served hot and in a timely fashion. We had such trouble finding somewhere to eat at 8 pm as everything seemed to be closed. Happy that we found an Applebee's and it wasn't crowded. The only bad thing was that it was extremely cold. They had the A/C cranked to the max. Haven't been to an Applebee's for awhile and discovered the 2/$27 meals which is the route we took. The menu is extensive a s I could have ordered many other different things. Our server Tori was exceptional. Our orders were taken efficiently and everything came out correct. I started with a Caesar salad and was surprised how big it was. The lettuce was crispy and toppings were ample. Next was the three cheese chicken penne served with a breadstick. Again, a large portion and everything was hot. I liked it, but didn't love it. I think there wasn't enough cheese, so many of the noodles were dry. I visited with my elderly mom and husband. The business was not full. The host came up to us and said there would be a wait. He took our name and when we were about to go to the waiting area he said we had to wait outside. Mind you it was FREEZING outside, there was no one in the waiting area, we were wearing masks, etc. My mom who is elderly had to make the trip back outside and into our truck so that I could keep her warm. We were called in 15-20 minutes later. So poor mom had to make the walk back. So note I truly understand the businesses having to be careful, social distancing, etc., but there was no one there. If they don't want anyone waiting in the waiting area, block it off. Anyway that rant out of the way. The food was descent and the rest of the time was ok. read more

We frequent Applebee's just out of the convenience of location and there's pretty much never a wait. We always order the mozzarella sticks and the quesadilla burger is the best meal on the menu in my opinion. Yesterday I made the mistake of ordering the bourbon street steak. It looked pretty good when it came out sizzling but I ordered a medium and got a Goodyear. I really should've talked to the manager but I blamed myself instead for ordering a steak at an Applebee's and expecting a steak. Since I'm built like an NFL linebacker and barely ate any of my steak my server knew I was disappointed and made a comment saying "that's definitely not a medium." I said I know but I'm not going to hold it against you because you didn't cook it and I decided not to say anything because you've been running around here working hard. She offered us a free dessert. I know I could've talked to the manager and got it credited or another one cooked but I was just over the meal. The server was amazing so I didn't hold it against her on the tip. I wish more people remembered to tip the server based on their service because they don't make the food. I worked in restaurants when I was younger and always felt bad for those mothers trying to make it but getting screwed on their tips by the performance of the kitchen. I can't recall ever having a bad server at an Applebee's somehow which is impressive. However, I have had a few bad meals in my time. With that being said, on top of them raising some prices on some items when they were already priced about where they should've been, I had to deduct 2 stars. When sat at the bar you could here, well let's just say very crude rap music coming from the kitchen loud enough that you couldn't here the music in the dining room. Stopped by for dinner with friends and found out their "ENTIRE DRAFT BEER SYSTEM" is frozen or isn't working. I asked to speak with the manager and he could not explain how this happened or willing to make any special offers on their bottle beer. Host was funny and personable, waitress initially dished on the trials n tribs of the "$1 Long Island iced tea" special of the month- the fact that The special negates some tip amounts in most cases "especially in Lorain County". While true were in a depressed county of alcoholics- the job entails working for tips unfortunately in this country and complaining about low tips is not going to charm many people into increased pity tips. Usually get my food at carside. It usually takes 20 minutes longer then what they tell you, so be prepared to wait on it. Food is ok, could be put together for carside. Also, carside portions seem smaller than when you dine in. read more

Not the best experience. I've never like Applebee's, only been 2 times in my life, this was the second time. Hostess was very friendly. Our server Savannah L. Was a different story. She was kinda stuck up and repeatedly told us she would be right back. We had the cheeseburger egg rolls (good) the steak chili (more like taco sauce and meat, no beans or anything) I had the Mac and cheese (lacking sauce, came with chicken tenders but some wackadoo poured honey mustard all over it) not impressed. Just left Applebee's about an hour ago. It was a big decision, especially for my wife, to even go in. We are what professionals call elderly high risk individuals, when speaking about the virus. We therefore take our safety seriously. So does Applebee's. Their policy now is that there must be 3 empty seats between every party. The restaurant now has at least every other booth or table closed. Every employee in the place wears a mask. Applebee's also takes cleanliness seriously. They now have a full time 'Sanitation Specialist' that does nothing but clean. Our hats off to: Nelly - Manager, Tatiyana - Barmaid, and Ivan - Sanitation Specialist, for making our maiden voyage back a comfortable and relaxing experience. Oh. We will most likely not be returning. To start we ordered a double vodka shaken over ice and got a very short drink. We questioned it and the server sent the manager to our table, who bordered on sarcastic and she remedied the situation by bringing over a room temperature shot to add to the drink. The fish was way over cooked by three to five minutes, (extremely dry). It was closer to salmon jerky. The only moisture was the very tasty sauce which was severed on the side. Garlic mashed potatoes and green beans were good. I had one half rack of ribs. The meat was very tough and almost no sauce was placed onto the ribs. The mash potatoes and broccoli were ok. They seamed like thaw and serve items. Both bathrooms were clean. This was not worth the price to value. Avoid if possible, for there are other thaw and serve eatery's in the area. read more

I do food delivery and every time I get. Food order for this restaurant I cringe and accept even tho I don't want to buy if I reject them every time I will get deactivated by the company . So issue is the girls who take the mobile orders put these type of orders as low priority. Every time I come they never see the order until I bring it to their attention and they finally place it in their system making me have to wait another 25-45 mins apart from the 5-20 mins it took me to get their from time I receive the order making me always deliver the orders late . Worst experience ever! We waited 45 minutes for our appetizer no sooner we got our appetizers our dinner was being served. My daughter that ordered chicken strips and fries that looked like a childs portion asked for hot sauce 2 times at this point 10 minutes has passed now her food is cold. That was enough for me I WALKED OUT never touching my food. They didn't charge my boyfriend for my food and gave it to him to take home. Worst half slab of ribs I ever had. It's affordable, delicious, and the wait staff from the hostess, to the busboys, waitresses and manager are very attentive and make sure things get done right. I have to say a while back this place wasn't that great however I have been here multiple times recently in 2017 and 2018 and this place has improved tremendously I think they're under new management. The staff is always welcoming and quick.
