Cole's is amazing! The dishes are always incredible and presentation is top notch. Not your normal Amherst bar type place. They change up the menu seasonally, and always add special seasonal drinks. Cole's has the best Salmon I've ever had. Even better than a certain place in Rocky River with Salmon in the name. The staff is fantastic, and they must treat them well because you see the same friendly faces. Bartender Ryan is usually who we see because he's so friendly. We love Jamie too! The owner is usually around and available to speak to. I've even spoken to the chef and their menu. Cole's has become our go-to for dinner. Highly recommended. I'd give it a 6 if I could. read more

Cole's is my favorite bar in the downtown neighborhood. They make some of the best cocktails, including a great mint drink I always go back for. The oysters are always fresh and delicious, and the menu has a lot of solid choices. In the summer, the patio is a great place to sit, and they have a band on Fridays which makes it even better. Patrons who paked in front of the restaurant either had to climb over a 2-3 ft mountain of snow and ice or risk getting hit by a car walking in the street to the nearest cleared sidewalk entrance to their minimally cleared sidewalk. Their food is expensive and not worth the price. You would do better going elsewhere. read more

Christmas bar For the holidays they decorated the one half of the restaurant in a festive vibe of Christmas lights, trees, poinsettias, Santa statues and other holiday decor. I highly recommend making reservations and letting them know what side you prefer. Making reservations is easy and they even send text and email reminders. Food was delicious and worth the extra money they charged for it. Went to Cole's Public House in Amherst first time there and will be returning. Very nice place good atmosphere and ambience. It was early and not too crowded but found out they had two entrances one on Park Ave and another off Main Street. Staff was friendly and helpful. I had the wild boar gnocchi and a side salad which was delicious and my brother had the apple Brie burger and fries with a very nice smoke garlic aioli. Wish I had pictures to show how badly they ripped me off. Went there for a birthday day party for mother. On 1-22-25 at 5:30 pm. I along with my brother in law got the flank steak for $32.00 and it was so small. We both got 6 pieces of steak 1 1/2 inch long and 1/2 inch thick and a mound of mash potatoes for $32.00. Ohh ya and a side salad. It looked like they ran out of the flank steak and just split one between the two of us this place should be ashamed of themselves for doing that I would have complained but it was mom's birthday dinner. For $32.00 I expected a hole steak not one split between another person. Honestly the meatloaf is hit or miss, but the burgers are amazing. The fries have truffle oil and garlic aioli but in a way that is perfectly balanced and not a mouthful of truffle. Went for brunch on a Sunday and it was delicious! The Sunday Bloody Mary was the reason for our visit, but it was so worth it for everything else too! We split the breakfast board, which came with waffles, pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, fruit, jam, and butter. It was so good!!! Took 25 minutes to get my first drink, after that they were pretty good about service. Really mostly disappointed that we didn't get the full Xmas room experience, which was the whole point. My brunch brunch burger tuned into a mess and my wife's monte cristo was undercooked. The other 2 in our party got the short rib skilled which they enjoyed. I'm looking forward to going during the week or Saturday to try the regular food, for brunch it just wasn't worth it to me. Staff was nice and the ambiance was solid but it just wasn't busy. If you get the Filet Mignon with Demi glaze there's no way you don't leave with a 5 star Yelp smile on your face. One of the BEST STEAKS I've ever had and that's saying a lot. Four of us went here on a Thursday early evening. We were seated very quickly. The decor is nice and everything is clean. There seemed to be a lack of help as our waitress, after bringing waters to us l, seemed to disappear. A friend we were with actually held her hand up to get someone to come back to take our spring and meal order. The order of food coming out seemed strange. One couple who came in after us actually ordered, ate and left before we got our food. I ordered the French onion soup and a wedge salad. My wife ordered the burger and fries. One of our friends ordered the pork chop dinner and the green beans. The other had the small ratatouille and the mixed green salad. My wife's burger was very good as she ate the entire thing, not a usual event. The fries were fries nothing special. My friend's pork chop and green beans looked and were said to be very good. The ratatouille was said to be very good and the salad good as well. My onion soup was bland, I had to add salt twice and I very rarely use salt. The wedge salad was not the best I've ever had as the dressing and blue cheese combination was strange. Also never had boiled carrots with a wedge salad. All in all the food was good but pricey. I may go back, for the burger, but it was not memorable. read more
