The chicken Parm, however, was atrocious. My wife and I went and we both opted for the Asian Chicken Salad as our entree and the deal also includes one appetizer. We selected Mozzarella Sticks. They serve a plentiful portion of these ooey gooey warm stringy mozza sticks along with a flavorful marinara sauce for dipping. Our salads were excellent! It's a salad that has been on their menu for a long time - one my wife orders often. Crispy breaded chicken tenders top a bed of fresh Asian greens, crunchy noodles and almonds tossed in a Oriental vinaigrette. The salad is accompanied with a golden brown butter topped bread stick that perfumes the air with garlicky goodness. Yea, I really enjoy the bread stick!. What a great dinner at a great price. I have eaten here many times over the years it as always good, today 3 of us went for lunch the service was terrible ordered a draft beer 20 minutes to get it with no apology, we ordered lunch 45 minutes later I told the manager then he showed up with the meals every thing was cold. They did bring us hot frys, the manager brought the check and made a big thing about the 10 percent discount on my meal because I am a veteran. Table 61 Check # 8854-1476196 Sunday, 4/13/25 Sat at 3pm/walked out at 4:20 Server Brittany K First, our table kiosk reflected an order already in process, with our appetizer and drinks added to it. We asked the server about it and she explained that last couple seated at our table left due to the wait time and the manager hadn't yet corrected it. Ok. That made sense. 1 drink came. 1 appetizer eventually came. The other drink came. The 2nd appetizer finally came. That all took too long, but we were ok so far. After that, we were literally forgotten about. Our entree order was simple. I ordered a Caesar salad and French onion soup. My partner ordered a penne pasta with chicken. THREE other tables around us (that we could see and hear) were seated AFTER US. They were served and nearly finished their meals when our server finally showed up to tell us our food would be ready soon. Two of the people at the other tables had steak. Steaks for 2 different tables came out faster than our salad! We were sitting with empty iced teas glasses and a pile of dishes from our appetizers (which we cleaned up and stacked nearly at the end of the table) alone and not checked on, for 45 minutes while everyone around us was finishing their food. 45 minutes and no one even stopped by the table. One we finally got to speak to our server and told her how we felt, we asked her to cancel our entree orders. No apology from her other than a brief "we're having kitchen problems" comment. Not once did the manager stop by to apologize or offer any minimal amount of professional courtesy to us. Not even any eye contact as we walked out of the door. We knew who the manager because she did stop by another table nearby that had complaints about the food. We felt unimportant, ignored and most likely won't be back. read more

We went to the Applebees in NFM the past 2 Thursdays because our regular rib place was closed. The service at this Applebees was very SLOW on both occasions even though we arrived just after opening (11:00 AM) Food was just OK. The ribs were tough with big chunks of fat on top and a stretchy membrane underneath. Yuck. The worst part and biggest concern was the money errors by the server on BOTH occasions. The first visit a member paid with a $100 bill and received $7 dollars back ON A $23 dollar bill! We caught it immediately and told the manager who got with our server and she made it right with small unembarrassed comments. I would have been mortified if I was the Manager. Anyway we chalked it up to human error but had a sneaking suspicion they were trying to get away with a scam. We went back the following Thursday and had another so-so lunch. Again the ribs were tough and chewy. We had to rip the meat off the bones. This time when we received our checks I was charged an additional $6 for a full rack of ribs instead of the half slab I ordered. Now Im certain they are trying to pull a fast one. Same server each time, Sam. The icing on the cake after I had Sam "fix" her error (?) on my bill was another of our group was handed a bill for $94 for a $23 dollar meal! He caught it right away and she "corrected it." Needless to say now that our regular rib place is available again we will definitely NOT be going back to this Applebees! Went with my husband and daughter for Veterans Day free dinner for veterans. Everything was service with a smile. It was crazy busy with one party of 25 there. Even with that the wait was less than 30 minutes to be seated. I was so impressed at how well the young people did with it so busy. Thank you to our waitress Emily. She was so sweet and wore a great big smile. She remembered everything. Everything ran smooth. Emily šwas very attentive. And the manager stopped by to check on us also. We told her about our wonderful waitress. Another time a friend took me and got me a steak dinner. The waitress was on the ball. APPLEBEE'S: I stopped at Applebee's in Merchants Crossing for a bite to eat tonight. The place was almost full as it was near 5pm but there were a few empty tables outside on the patio. This place was clean and the wait staff was moving about at a fast pace. Once seated, they took our drink order quickly. That gave us a few minutes to figure out what we wanted as they were getting our drinks. Our waitress came back quickly with our drinks and proceeded to take our order. We all ordered a well done Bourbon Swiss Burger and fries. I asked them to add extra mayonnaise on my burger or have it on the side. Our food did come out in reasonable time for as full as it was there. I say it all the time it's the little things that they forget or don't do that separates good restaurants from great restaurants. Guess what they forgot the extra mayonnaise. I asked the waitress to bring it and she stated she was sorry and would bring it immediately. It only took her a couple seconds and she was back with it. I could not believe how good my burger was. It was juicy but well done with a crust on the outside of the burger and the swiss cheese was melted perfectly with mushrooms and onions mixed in it. Once again I can not stress enough how good this burger was. When I get to the middle of my burger I do a squeeze test to see if it's dry or juicy. The burger had plenty of juices flowing from the middle and was not dry at all. The french fries were not too shabby either, they were done just fine, not too hard or too soft. They kept our drinks filled before any of us emptied them and even asked if we wanted any to go. I know this is a chain restaurant and I love doing reviews on mom and pop or local places in the SW Florida area but I will stop at chain restaurants at times. I am not sorry I stopped at this one. The food was good and hot plus done to my liking. The waitstaff was on top of their game to boot. I will have to give this place a 4 thumbs up out of 5. It was crowded so we expected to have a bit of a wait for our food. We had to ask multiple times / multiple servers for sugar and coffee refills. I ordered sirloin steak, broccoli and mashed potatoes. My steak was medium rare which I ordered but it was so tough I could barely cut it and it was too tough to chew! My broccoli was waterlogged. I ate none of the steak. Told the waitress it was a really bad cut of meat. It was obvious that the entire steak was still sitting on my . She said she would talk to the manager. They took $9 off my bill. I am 67 years old and in my entire life, I have never sent food back, and I have never asked or expected to be compensated for a meal. His GF ordered sizzling plate with chicken and waffle fries and she liked it. Wife ordered chicken breast with mash and Broc and said tasteless generally and not so good. I ordered a burger with fries. Here comes poor rating, having maybe four tables going, served me par cooked cold and limp fries, Luke warm at best. I asked for replacements and server brought me same ones and told me it was fresh as if I am stupid. He was frustrated by my unwillingness to eat nasty fries.. He said he would get manager who came out after 5 minutes and immediately noticed and agreed. Offered new ones but family was all but done by now. Burger was okay, nothing special but I just stopped with that. I asked the manager to please discuss with the team the importance of fresh cooking at late night meals. It's a very popular location. I had the mozzarella sticks and the chicken finger basket. Food was good. Others had the the quesadillas and said they were good. Tortilla soup was mush and had to be sent back. Fish and chips are good as was the oriental salad with chicken. Our waitress was newer and made some mistakes (no silverware, plates, mixed up checks etc) she was nice and will learn. Food came at different times. One meal came, five minutes later two more and another five minutes the last one. It was absolutely freezing inside. We had to go get sweaters and a blanket. Always have had good food at this location. The Applebees might (sadly) be the best restaurant around for five miles. Options are very thin. We like to eat on the patio, but be forewarned, sometimes It stinks (literally) because apparently smoking is allowed on patios in restaurants in Florida. Get a table away from everyone if you can. This is nearby so I frequent. Food is standard Applebee's fare, mostly ok. For months the tappersc in the main bar have not worked properly. It takes bartenders forever to poor a beer because of over-carbonination. The good bartenders go to the outside bar to pour a proper beer. Management doesn't seem to care to fix or that they are wasting a critical resources time. I like this one because of proximity and good people.
