Food (although manufactured) wasn't terrible, but I'd make two significant changes if I were the manager here. First, the outside security lights (40% work + 60% do not work = disaster waiting to happen) in the parking lot invites smash and grab criminals to destroy vehicles. If it hasn't happened yet, it probably will. Fix it. Secondly, change the Pepsi products to Coke products. Coke is the gold standard of American soda products. There is no silver standard. We walked in and the hostess was unhappy about working. There was barely anyone in there. The offered a high table and we asked for a regular booth since I had my 79 4'11 mother with us. The waitress went to clean the table with a dry napkin and gave the thumbs up for the hostess to seat us. When we walked to the table it was still filthy with drink ring spots and trash under the table. I pointed it out to the hostess and she said "she don't pick up trash". So we just left. Started well, everything was brought promptly. It's to bad that is where it ended. My dinner which is something I get all the time at other Applebees was barely warm. The plate was warmer than the food. The fries were limp. The server never checked on us and we had to ask for the check and was given the wrong check. If we hadn't paid attention we wouldn't have paid enough. I was disappointed with our overall experience. The server dropped the food and left and didn't ask if we needed anything. I couldn't tell him about my food because he didn't come back to the table until he ran by and dropped the wrong check. It was not busy at all so there was no reason for this. Ordered from Uber eats. Uber eats failed at their job and didn't deliver. So I canceled the order and then ordered the same through door dash. Applebee's charged me and door dash delivered my original order complete with the Uber eats sticker on front, which means Applebee's double charged me for the order. My husbands riblet platter w/ the mashed potatoes he ordered and the spinach dip and chips. The order was 2 for $22. So why i had to call about my entire order missing and advice them I want my food. Supervisor claims ok we will get it ready in 20 minutes. I had the bacon cheeseburger w/ no onions extra pickle lettuce and tomato so I go up there for my order and when I get home because it was already storming pouring down raining I have no lettuce tomatoes pickles not even the damn condiments that come with a cheeseburger. I'm pissed off like seriously i was starving. their customer service and attentiveness is lacking bad. This Applebee's has a management problem. Restaurant 1/3 full, but still waited for a table. Finally seated, but waited more than 10 minutes for a server or menus. Neither ever came. Finally, got up to leave. Group of 4 walked out. Had to go find manager to tell him we were leaving and why. Had to interrupt his chat with a bartender. Went to Applebees on 280 bypass in Phenix City last Friday night. Had a wait if 35 minutes. Less than half of the tables were occupied so I figured either Covid or lack of staffing. No biggie. I had grilled chicken and mashed potatoes. Chicken was so tough I could hardly cut it with a knife. Mashed potatoes were so cold I couldn't even melt the butter on them. My husbands steak was partly done and partly over done. His potatoes were cold as well. The waiter was extremely overwhelmed with the amount of customers and running like a chicken with his head cut off. Every time he stopped by our table he apologized. We didn't complain so why he was apologizing is beyond me. I was extremely disappointed because we have gone there for years, usually for a Brutus and an appetizer. My wife ordered a lemonade and I ordered a Pepsi. Server only brought my drink and my wife's lemonade never came. We get our food served and the server does not notice we don't have our silverware until I bring it to her attention 5 minutes later. My wife and I have finished our food and they still haven't brought our wings we ordered and her drink. It's not even packed in here. Service is always great here, but il have to admit that in my opinion applebees is at the bottom of my list when dinning out. They have a few good choice but prices dont match the food unless you get a 2 for 20. I rather drive 20 more minutes and go to fridays, chilis, cheddars, etc. They have plenty of TVs and beer, but i will stick to only going the bar when i visit this place(and even thats pricey). read more
