Wanted to order the advertised $25.00 meal deal and they didn't have it. Ordered the nachos for a appetizer and it was enough chips for one person to eat not like it use to be loaded on the plate. Wanted just a quick getaway for an hour to relax after our day off. Should've know by the empty glasses at every patrons place setting that wasn't going to be that. The only table the bar "untended" paid attention to was a lady and young child. The other 4 tables and 3 parties at the bar were ignored. We would have bought more and had another round IF she had paid any attention at all to the liquid in our glasses. Seriously my husband was empty for 26 minutes and me 8 before she ever said "want anything" and this after I had to place dessert order to go via the carry out as she never came back. The people behind us were chastised for wanting separate checks yet she hadn't visited them for 25 minutes either before taking their check and said 'you should ask for separate checks before I ring things up'. The guys at the bar when we entered had money on the bar and completely empty glasses and looked angry. That should've been our que to go elsewhere. don't order the mushroom burger, it had a ton of onions and only 3 mushroom slices the size of my pinky. the fries were way to salty, the beer cheese dip was so runny it would not stay on the fries and our waitress had no clue what she was doing. the burgers were to be well done , they were almost burnt to a crisp on the outside and very pink on the inside, so much for well done. although not the greatest eatery, the meal was very basic and should not have been difficult to prepare. We walked in, mind you the parking lot was about empty and no wait for seating, and my family and the family ahead of us were told we had to be placed on a wait. We just had dinner at Applebee's in Seaford and the food was o/k although the Napa chicken with Portobello ' s was a little shy on the portabello's. My wife liked her dish. HOWEVER, we arrived at around 5 PM FOR the happy hour and one of the many menu's on our table mentioned $2.50 drafts for the time we were there. Imagine our supreme when they were $3.99 ! Suprise ! Thought hubby and I found a great place to have lunch dates, but our last experience was not so great. We took our usual seats at the bar. We made small talk for about 5 minutes as we waited for the bartender. I glanced around and noticed everyone at the bar was served. Jeff, the bartender worked on the cash register in front of us and never acknowledged or made eye contact even though he was less than 3 feet from us. A few more minutes went by and we noticed that he was standing at the other end of the bar with another employee making small talk with a gentleman having a beer. My husband became upset and he said let's go. As we were walking out, we walked past a group of employees and my husband asked one of them who was the bartender. The employee answered Jeff and pointed at the guy who never made eye contact. Prior to this experience, we were there at least 5 times and was pleased with the service. We always tipped well and spent an average of $65 per visit. Unfortunately for Applebee's and because of this experience, we found that across the street, Texas Roadhouse was much more pleasant, the food is WAY better and the prices were very good. Too bad the experience at Applebee's made us feel Jeff didn't want to serve us even though we patiently gave him every opportunity to do his job. But when it became blatantly obvious that he did not want to acknowledge us after being right in front of him and as he was facing us, we decided our money can be spent at an establishment where great customer service is a company goal that should be experienced consistently and not dependent on who is the bartender working at the time of our visit. Last night's dinner experience was the worst we've had at Applebees! Our waitress seemed unfamiliar with the menu choices, such as substituting shrimp for chicken in an Alfredo dish. I was brought chicken and broccoli Alfredo with a tiny bowl of 5 small shrimp on the side. Lol I returned it, and my fiance's dish had already been brought to him. Thus, we couldn't eat at the same time. We had ordered second cocktails, which were brought at the end of our meal. Unbelievable. I had asked for parmesan cheese, and received a bowl of parmesan SAUCE!! REALLY? In keeping with the delay theme, it arrived near the end of my meal! Who puts parmesan sauce on top of Alfredo sauce? Not me! Our bill was brought while I was still eating my meal and when our second drinks arrived, which is always a nice touch. Hurry up and get finished so I can get my tip! Not good, Applebees! Ok so the place wasn't bad. I don't know if it's because we told the waitress people in Yelp had given it bad reviews or just that we went their on a good day. My friend that I'm on a road trip with is a manager at a corporate restaurant. We were starving but she didn't want to stop at Applebee's but it was the only place around. Boy, I wish I would've listened to her. It's like there is a lack of service culture around here! The hostess didn't even turn around to greet us! Isn't that her job?! We got seated and had to wait 15 minutes until I flagged down a waiter who said he didn't know who our waiter was, but would take our order. They seem very short handed. Took forever to get anything. And the place wasn't even busy. Management at this restaurant is a joke. I asked for something to be discounted since we had to wait. Got no apologies, and was offered a free appetizer on my next visit. I had horrific service the last time I was there. I am absolutely never going to another Applebees ever again!! I would definitely recommend Texas Roadhouse across the road. Always fast and fantastic service there. And the food portions are bigger and better tasting. read more

My husband and I went out Tuesday night 2/11 for our anniversary. We were seated at a booth. The waitress came over after 10 minutes and asked if we would like a drink. My husband order a Manhattan and I order a 7 and water. After another 10 minutes she brings his drink and me a glass of water in a small glass. I asked her where the 7 was in the drink. She took it back to the bar and waited another 15 minutes for the drink. Then she took our order. The food came out cold and there were no knives and forks on the table. I asked her if we were suppose to eat with our fingers. She then got the manager, we asked for our bill for the drinks because we told him we were going someplace else to eat. We did not want to eat with our fingers and wanted drinks we knew we ordered, and not cold food. Wait times for food to arrive are always long, even when there are only a handful of people dining. The typical scene are the very young staff just hanging out around the bar, discussing their personal issues, not checking on tables and certainly not looking busy. The food is okay, nothing the rave about but not bad. The 2 stars only is due to the staff, some unpleasant to deal with, others you only see once they take your order, then when they bring the check. Most often we have to flag down another staff member for help. This would be a good place if it was managed correctly, and not like some comedy offshoot place to eat with drama teens. Horrible wait time and customer service. My family and I went in and got seated right away in the bar area. After almost 15 minutes the waitress finally came over and told us she didn't know she was covering out table. We placed our food and drink order and a couple minutes later she brought out our drinks. After another 10 minutes or so she came back by with an appetizer that wasn't what we ordered. She apologized and said ours would be right out. Another 10 minutes later she brings out our appetizer and refills our drinks for the first time. After almost an hour and watching 2 different groups of people come and go from another section, our food finally arrives. None of our steaks are cooked as we ordered and the other food was dried out probably due to sitting under a heat lamp for so long. The manager comes over and apologizes and says our meal will be comped due to the wait and quality. When the bill comes nothing is taken off and is full price for everything. Never again will I eat at another Applebee's. Having worked in the restaurant business for many years I understand there is a few occasions where things get messed up but the level of carelessness and lack of quality or the drive to makeup for mistakes was completely unacceptable. If you want a decent meal and quick service. Skip Applebee's and go to outback or chili's. read more

After 1 bite the gal took it back n called a manager who came to the table saying "I hear you complained?" I laughed in his face n said "so much for customer service but seriously that was the worst steak I've ever tasted. Go look at it and come back and tell me that's what's on the menu and what you are to serve. It was microwaved". He said "I'll take it off your bill" and never came back. We sat there for 10 minutes with no drinks nor did we ever see our waitress again. There were other waitresses and employees milling around, but ours never reappeared.
