Came for lunch today with friends. Cobb Salad was huge and didn't need any meat to make it a great choice. Reuben with onion rings looked great and the wings were a hit. Buckets has greatly improved. I've been visiting them for years (when it was CJ's) and the food is so much better now. Not a fancy place, but cozy, with a community vibe. Went on a Tuesday night which is trivia night. I must say was extremely fun and would recommend. I got the Cali Burger medium rare and I have to say it was juicy and had tons of buttery flavorful taste. The homemade chips were great as well a little over seasoned for my taste but still extremely good. They have tons of drink choices and great selection of on tap choices as well. The service was spot on making sure we never skipped a beat. It's a sports bar/restaurant so it does get relatively noisy nothing crazy though. Also if your looking for a sports game (MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL) they probably will have it on as they have tons and tons of large screens for your viewing enjoyment. 07.08.23 Brought my wife in for lunch and we sat at the bar, wife had the club sandwich with fries and I had the crab cake sandwich special with chips. The car tender was great very friendly easy to talk too, everything was very good I would have gave 5 stars but I thought there was too much bread need to be on a roll that is soft and just don't think those chips are very good. Today I had some that were hard to eat, they need to be thinner I believe they would taste much better. We will be back the food is really good other wise. Looking for a clean dive bar? This is the one for you. Our Uber driver asked us if that was really where we were going. Seriously, the pizza crust was delicious and the beer was cold. This was the first time visiting this bar. The front of the building is a liquor store and the rear is the bar. The food was very good! The service was awesome and the ambiance was what I would expect from a local sports bar. Monday the wings are 1/2 price. The honey old bay was sweet and the old bay dry rub was just right. We got 10 wings & they came out fast and HOT. We ordered the Cuban panini. It was big enough to split and was wry good. The place has good TVs and darts. There's an outside area too. read more

The first time we came here it was on a Friday around 4pm and it was so busy there wasn't any parking, so we decided to come back for lunch on a Friday. For an appetizer we had the loaded pierogies. I was super excited they had pierogies as I haven't seen them on any restaurant menus in the area. For mains, I had the dirty Hawaiian pizza. In addition to ham and pineapple it had jalapeños, bacon and hot honey. My husband had the crab cake sandwich. We've both eaten a ton of crab cakes and he said it was one of the best, if not the best he's had. My pizza was great as well. For drinks we each had a Bloody Mary. I'm pretty sure they used zing zang, which we have no complaints about because that's our favorite mix. We also each tried a speciality cocktail on their holiday menu. Both were very good. Our server was friendly and everything came out quickly. We will definitely be adding buckets on our regular rotation. read more

I've been here a bunch of times. Food is usually really awesome! Service is ALWAYS awesome: Judy, Chris, Sam, Ellen, Steve are all exceptional bartenders! Tonight I had the buffalo chicken salad. Looked delicious, but way too salty. I only ate half of it, and I'm trying to figure out if the salt was on the salad or in the Ranch dressing. I got it to go, and ate it at home. It was delicious, lots of great flavor with the cucumbers and the bacon and cherry tomatoes. It was just really salty. Next time I'll get the brussels sprouts. -Next day- it was the salad dressing. I used my own ranch and way less salty...actually delish! read more

So, my super valid reason for this review is strictly based on the owner and is actions. Which if an owner acts like this then we should not support this establishment. We (2 families - 4 adults 4 kids under 18) went to Buckets after a day of family golfing. We sat at 2 tables, 1 for the adults and 1 for the kids. We had a waitress where we ordered our food and drinks and the waitress knew we had our minor children at the table behind us. Our 14 year old daughter wasn't feeling well after golf and pretty much sat the entire time with her head down at the table of kids. We paid our bill of over $250 and were finishing up our adult conversations. One of the kids came up to us and said the owner came to their table and said the girl needed to leave because her head was down and was overserved and the other kid said she was 14 and didn't drink. We approached the owner and inquired as to why and he said because she had her head down and appeared to be overserved. He said because his liquor license was on the line. I told him she was 14 and was only served a Dr. Pepper and never drank any alcohol. He said well she shouldn't have been served. I am not sure where he didn't understand she was never served alcohol nor was anyone at that table. I told him to ask the waitress that waited on us she would verify. Needless to say we left after that and the owner was absolutely ignorant and failed to do the right thing. He should have asked where are your parents immediately after knowing she was 14 and had a discussion with us. Would have solved and clarified the entire situation but he took the unprofessional way out and assumed a 14 year old was drinking. Furthermore, if you are saying she was overserved then your establishment would be culpable for serving her (which never happed and she only drank a Dr. Pepper). So to the owner who we tried to have a conversation with, you are 1000% wrong and failed to own it. We will never again support Buckets, which we go to once a week, again. We will also never recommend this establishment either. You really messed up here and you need to own it. read more

Almost didn't want to review because I would rather selfishly be a gatekeeper but this is one of the all-time favorites in the Solomon's/Lusby area. It's quite unassuming from the front as it looks like a gas station and the inside looks like a dive bar, because it kind of is. BUT, Buckets has the best crab cake in the area, hands down. No fillers, just delicious crab. The fried chicken sandwich is also incredible. Anything here is incredible really. Just order it. The drinks are equally amazing, especially the crushes. It's not really quite a common crush choice, but I asked if I could have a lemon crush and I will never order anything else BUT a lemon crush. Our server/bartender was happy to make it for me, explained what was in it, and made sure I enjoyed it. Speaking of service, everyone here is so kind, caring, and treats you like family. Carry-out is definitely not something to try here. Over a month ago, this restaurant was great and made very few mistakes with the orders, the food before was delicious and exceeded expectations. As the restaurant became a bit more popular, it went severely downhill. The staff preparing one of the orders forgot to pack a key ingredient to one of the dishes I ordered, the bread that is normally used to scoop the dip out of the bowl. Another dish was just completely forgotten about, even though this item had been ordered numerous times before by me, all of those times before I had no problems at all. read more

Even with the new owners the food is still really good. There is also a beautiful update to the restaurant/bar portion as well. When it comes to taking precautions to the pandemic there is none. Customers walk around without a mask and it is not 50% capacity. While trying to close my tab around last call I was surrounded by over 10 people without masks on. 3 of these people not even having masks in sight, many others having them under their chins, and even the owners not having theirs on. I get that going to a bar is risky during a pandemic, but sometimes you just need to have a draft beer. Moral of the story, unless you want arrogant drunk people around without masks on, don't come here for that draft beer. read more

My wife found out about Buckets from a friend who said they went and thought it was a nice local bar so when we were in the area we decided to check it out. It's a bit off the beaten path and if you're not looking for it you'll miss it. It's a bit tricky parking because the front is a liquor store and Buckets is on the side in the back. When we arrived around 1230 there were a couple of groups and about 4 couples in the pub. We found a table and was greeted shortly. The waitress told us of the special and took our drink order, the menu is what I would expect in a pub bar but there were some nice choices not usually seen. I ordered the Ruben and my wife the Cuban panini both were good. Talking with the waitress I found out that this is not a new place but has changed owners over the years. The current chef does weekly specials to add to the daily menu. Cost was reasonable service was good and the atmosphere was friendly, we will visit again because we like and support local establishments versus the chain eateries. I told the hubby, let's try it. very friendly, drinks right away with menus served. regular patrons spoke to you, great atmosphere. the food for a bar is top notch. my hubs had the soft shell crab sandwich. came with 2 soft shells on a brioche bun with handmade salt and vinegar chips. Delish. I had the mushroom and Swiss burger with onion rings. Best wings around, hands down! So glad we tried this place, we actually tried to go on a Saturday evening but it was completely packed! So we came back on Sunday for lunch and walked right in-inside isn't anything fancy but is clean, has a friendly atmosphere, good beer selection and the food was absolutely amazing. The staff was super nice and helpful. We ordered the mild wings with blue cheese and ranch. My husband said the blue cheese was delicious, the ranch was good too, both tasted homemade. The wings were very crispy and also had a char to them like they had been fried and then put on the grill-amazing flavor!! This will be our go-to wing place forever! Since we were trying out a new place, we wanted to try some of the other menu items, so we also ordered the buckets burger, which was so good-very flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried their pizza, it was pretty good. The crust was a little bland, but it was still a good slice of pizza. Lastly, we had to try the desserts we had heard about, we ordered the peanut butter pie and the smore's cheesecake. WOW, these were incredible. If you have room after dinner, order dessert, you won't regret it! We can't wait to come back to Buckets to try the other food on the menu, I wish I had remembered to take pics of what we ordered! Friends and I stopped by this afternoon and had a good time but service left much to be desired. After realizing we had moved friends joining we moved from the bar to two low tables. We pulled two tables together as we anticipated a few more friends and the table remained uncleared until I moved it to the bar when our friends arrived. The food needs some help also. The cheese that came out with the pretzel rods was not good at all very clumpy and not what you would expect for a cheese dip. Especially when it came out in a small plastic container. We did not get checked on for refills we had to always ask someone to come over. We weren't ever offered napkins or asked if we wanted to order something we again had to initiate conversation with the employees to get things. However, on this one day I found myself so hungry and so tired that I had to eat and didn't want to cook! Buckets is literally two minutes from home, so I decided why not, if it sucks I will do my usual and take that crap back!!! Not!! I ordered the Chef Salad..no pun. With extras of red onion and avacado, which was individually wrapped and fresh...classy move! And of course extra Blu cheese dressing! Received my salad paid almost 10 bucks Because of the extras picked up the bag and instantly notice how heavy it was, hmmm might have something here... Arrive home haul my azz into the house open up my salad and BANG!! The salad fit for a king. Artfully assembled, fresh greens fresh everything with a sushi style roll up of ham turkey an provalone sliced* And two huge side of the most amazing Blu cheese dressing, not sure it could be called dressing because it's loaded with cheese so thick you couldn't shake it of a fork... heavenly!!! Needless to say I order it three more times that week!!! I won't even go into the Crab Cake, I don't think there enough space I'll just say pricey yes, worth it, hell yeah and if you splurge get two share one and you'll have a friend for life!!!! read more

Buckets has become a place that kicks you out for any little thing. I had 2 1/2 drinks there & was cut off bc I spilled my 3rd drink. I spilled it bc I'm a clutz NOT bc I drank too much! The owner refused to have a decent conversation with me about it & kicked me out. They were so nasty & would not hear my side at all. It was crazy since I'd been there so many times & had no problems even when I drank more than 2 1/2 drinks! It was unreal! Several other patrons there were shocked that I was asked to leave. Terrible service, even worse management. Don't waste your money there. There are better restaurants that will make you actually feel valued as a customer just down the road in Solomons Island.
