I've been coming here for years, and it's always a place we look forward to visiting whenever we're in Bridgeville on our way to the beach. We used to stop at Jimmy's Grill, but after it closed in 2018, we started coming to Jeff's Taproom & Grill and have been enjoying it ever since. The food is consistently good, and I usually order the cheeseburger or the steak and cheese--both are delicious. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and provides great service. We typically stop in for lunch, either on our way to the beach or on the drive home from vacation. It's become one of our favorite traditions, and I highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the area. read more

Went here Sunday at around 7 pm for dinner. We sat ourselves and were finally greeted by our server who was very unenthusiastic about our presence there. We wait for about 20 minutes and finally get our order taken. Everyone had ordered burgers, thought we would keep it simple. Our server comes back about 20 minutes later and informs us it's the late menu now and that they're only cooking from the fryer. So we all decide to order wings and fries instead. About another 30 minutes goes by, pretty sure the server forgot our order because I could see her hanging outside. Eventually our food comes, all of its cold, tells one of our party members that they had to cancel their order because they turned the friers off for the evening. We complain about the cold food that's brought and they offer to "microwave" it for us. Meanwhile they're cleaning up for closing. The server didn't offer a discount, comp wings for them being cold or anything. 90$ for cold wings and fries, had to get up and get my own refill of water 40 minutes into the service. Great place, awesome atmosphere. Came in with my husband last night. We played some pool and had a beer with our meal.

There are just a few things that would take Jeff's from a 4-star, up to 5... Actual plates real silverware instead of plastic and styrofoam, and a few tables that are NOT high-tops or booths (both of which are a bit difficult for people with mobility problems). Service is friendly and attentive. Wings are probably some of the best I've had in a long time - crispy AND well flavored, which is a combination hard to achieve. Best burger around, bar none (pun intended) - cooked CORRECTLY to order, good quality, and HUGE. Go in knowing what this is - a billiards bar that serves good food. It's BRIGHT inside, without much fuss made with respect to "ambiance" (of which, honestly, there is NONE)... but people going here aren't looking for any of that, which is fine by me. Give me good service, good food, and and a killer burger, and I'm golden. read more

Just a bit of history I found out! George Jefferson, owner of Jeff's Taproom and Grille operates the business with his wife; originally opened by his parents and has been in existence for 52 years. Jeff's is now open to all ages, and it is the perfect place to eat good food and grab an adult beverage. We met friends there recently for the night out. The waitress was friendly and had a good sense of humor. Good thing since she only came around every 40 minutes. I ordered the chicken slider basket. What I got was 2 chicken nuggets on a roll. Hell, my kid could have made that! And, the french fries were undercooked, you know the raw tasting way. I didn't send it back because we all know how that ends.... Plus, the whole night, the DJ only played 2 songs that people got up to dance to. The rest of the night he played stuff that NOBODY wanted to dance to. C'mon! Why was he so was out-of-touch with the crowd? Can you get your head out of your a$$ and see that? Our group left a lot sooner because, in addition to the sh!tty music, he also wanted to see how LOUD he could play it without violating the town ordinance. We were sitting a ways back and couldn't hear the person next to us unless they screamed at us. The 2 of us dropped 50 bucks for a couple hours out. Our friends dropped over $100. Jeff's could have gotten more $$ out of all of us if we stayed, but they won't get any more since we are not going back anytime soon. read more

Is all the food at Jeff's 5 star level? no... Everything we have tried has been good to very good. But what is truly 5 star is the top notch burger. It is a Michelin star burger! Beautiful quality meat, beautifully cooked-it doesn't get better. But wait...yes it does...Today I asked them to make me a Cheeseburger Sub (it's not on the menu) And in true Lower Slower hospitality, they did-- with sauteed (caramelized) onions (delicious!) shredded iceberg (perfect!) and mayo on a nice sub roll. I was in heaven! I have not had a cheeseburger sub this good since the 70s. Wow. And service is 5 star too! Went with pre-Covid gift cards. Told the waitress ahead of time. She said no problem. When it came time to settle the bill, the manager on duty refused to honor them. She said she couldn't be sure they belonged to us. I had the original receipts wrapped around them and everything. BOGUS! At first the service was kinda slow, but she quickly made up for it and was right on top of our needs. We had the jalapeño poppers and the wings/crab ball appetizers. The poppers were good and the wings (Chesapeake style) were excellent. The crab balls were a little salty and "well done". We've been to Jeff's several times. The food and service has been satisfactory in the past. However, our last visit was not enjoyable. I always got a burger on previous visits, which was pretty good. This time I ordered the French Onion Soup for a change of pace, but it was not very good. I did get a metal spoon with my soup, but the other cutlery placed on the table had been downgraded to plastic since previous visits. I would expect that for takeout orders, or at a fast food restaurant, but not at a restaurant like Jeff's. Service was extremely slow and inattentive. When we tried to get the server's attention as she was passing us by, she looked like she was on the verge of giving us attitude. I wanted to express my disappointment with our last visit, and ask if Jeff's had changed ownership, so I contacted them directly through their website. I did not receive the courtesy of a reply. As a result, it is unlikely that we'll be going back. It would have been nice to know that our last experience was not representative of what they hope to offer their customers, particularly regarding the poor service. read more

I'm not even gonna assume it's a racial thing, although I have my suspicions, I had just gotten off work, and was looking forward to this meal. What surprised me was that the person who served me was different than the person who served me at Apple Scrapple. So is this some unwritten policy? I was pretty tired, so does the staff try to pull a fast one on 'drunk' customers hoping they won't notice? Stopped by on our way home from the beach because the reviews were so good. Clearly some of the reviews are fake. After having dinner, I will never be returning. Rockfish sliders were a joke. A small piece of fried fish ( didnt look like rockfish either ) on a white bun. No condiments. No lettuce or anything. Boring and tasteless. Steamed shrimp were tiny and over cooked. Drinks were $12 for a Crush??! I have never paid that much for a Crush at far nicer restaurants at the beach all weekend. Stopping to a this dive bar tavern in sleeply ole Bridgevile, I would have expected much more reasonably priced drinks. We must have gotten the out-of-town pricing since we were not local. Service was bad as well. Our waitress was never around. We had to go to the bar for our second drink. Don't waste your time or hard earned money. Try Jimmy's down the road. Waayyyyy better..... PS. After all the rain recently my friend and I asked to sit outside. After about 30 minutes I was told they only had breaded wings which told me they are frozen . So I changed my order to steamed shrimp. After we got our food about 20 minutes later the lady asked if we needed anything else. I asked for a refill of my tea. She came back out about 5 minutes later to tell me they dont serve outside. This after they served our food and all we went through. Very rude.! Definitely the best bar and grill in the area! Much larger than it appears from the outside. Has been enlarged and updated with a clean and casual atmosphere. All of the locals know that this is THE place to grab a burger! Many other things on the menu I'd like to try. So enticing! I recently had a friend take me there for lunch. We ordered shrimp after we had a mixed drink. We enjoyed both immensely. As we were leaving out the door, our waitress ran us down. I am a local and used yo live this place. Their food is awesome and its 9 minutes from my house. However, now that they have opened their second side and have live music they charge $10 to get in...STARTING at 630pm. Thars way too early for a band that starts at 930p. If I want to go to dinner, Im not paying $10 to eat and if Im in there eating, I should be allowed to stay for the band. It used to be my favorite place and I was in there once a week. Now I refuse to go on principle. If you want to charge a cover, you need to start it later on in the evening, closer to the band start. read more
