This has got to he the worst Applebee's ever! I walked in to order food to go because it was the only thing open that wasnt fast food and I don't know the are at all and I am in NC for work. This location should be shut down. You all should truly have someone come in and do an overhaul or just shut it down. The restaurant is filthy! The staff all need to retrained. I went to the restroom walked out and just left. When I walked in the staff just looked at me no one said anything......I stand by staying away from applebees!!!! read more

This Applebees location is a place my wife and I wanted to like, but have long since given up on. The problem is the food, it's never good. Hot chicken bites are never coated properly, and the steaks are of poor quality. My wife once ordered a salad that was so bad the leaves were turning translucent and slimy. We don't normally return food but we made an exception. The replacement salad looked better than the one on the menu - it's not that they can't do better, they just don't want to. Out of probably ten visits between 2008 - 2010 it got worst and worst to the point we just don't go back. I'm convinced the problem is the management. It's not that they don't have the means to be a great restaraunt; they simply choose not to be. read more

Staff is friendly. This particular location is in desperate need of renovation. I have been to numerous Applebee's up North that have received the new redesign, and this place just feels dirty and decrepit. The music is playing WAY to loud, to the point that the speakers are experiencing distortion, it's very aggravating to the ears. Worst applebees i have ever been to, passing through from South Carolina and just stopping for food. Had 4 table still dirty that needed to be clean off and Richard the host told people it would be 20 mins, which lost a lot of business then we sat and had 3 different waiters. Then our food went "bad" so they have to remake it. Richard told the one waitress to clean off tables slowly because people were complaining. Everyone there should be fire especially Richard. We came upon Applebee's of Wilson, NC on our way back from a beach friends weekend. We forgo chick fila (a huge mistake in retrospect) when we saw the Applebee's off in the distance, thinking it may cure the last day of trip blues. Little did we know when we entered that our world would be flipped upside. First step in we hit the restroom. There was explosive "goo" all over the toilet. Not a good first sign. We then sat and placed our order. Three of the five of us ordered the chicken bacon grilled sandwich, what we thought was a safe pick. We sat and waited. And waited... then they arrived. Two of the group received theirs. The second waitress with the 3rd sandwich ran off in a hustle. "Where did my sandwich go?!" I remarked. It appeared as if they were trying to hide something. A few minutes later the first waitress came and said "we think we saw a hair or something or cheese" on the sandwich. "You know what, I think I'm gonna pass" when they asked if i wanted a remake. I quickly got up and left for Jersey Mikes. The other friends continued eating out of pure hunger. The 4th mac n cheese meal was pasta with a dry, sporadic sprinkle of cheese. The 5th meal, crusty chicken tenders, could've been bought at the nearby convenience store. Over an hour later when the nightmare was over, we received our bill and were told the card didn't go through. My mac n cheese friend was charged TWICE for this CRAP! We left and headed 4hrs back home with even more blues than before. One positive note- Applebee's only pours double shots. My friends had to start drinking again during the experience. read more

I ordered the 4 cheese mac with chicken and bacon. It had NO cheese on it. It was literally just noodles and chicken. It's also supposed to come with a breadstick, but I didn't get that either. It took forever to get ready, so I didn't bother trying to wait for it to be fixed. Portion size was good. I had leftovers for the next day. We had a less than favorable experience dining at the Goldsboro, NC... location last night. We got sat relatively quickly, however, the AC vent was above us, and running full blast, I did ask for it to be changed, really couldn't tell a big difference. Finally got a waitress, who took our drink order, we then went ahead and put our older in...... and our order was loaded steak & chicken fajitas, rice on the side, husband is a diabetic and watches his carbs. We also ordered the spinach and artichoke dip.. 30 minutes later, no food, not a sign from our waitress, she seemed to be working the whole other side, then only us, on the window side. Finally.the fajitas came out, they were not hot, or sizzling, the steak was pretty rare for the most part... the chicken was at least done, and it was lukewarm at best. Still no appetizer, the waitress finally shows up, and then goes to check on the appetizer. It finally makes it to the table, the manager comps the appetizer. We were very disappointed in this dining experience. It's not the first time we have gotten poor service at this establishment, and one of the reasons it's been 2 or 3 yrs, since we gave it another go pretty sure the $30.00 we spent, will not be wasted on another trip to this one. read more

I don't really ask for much from a chain restaurant like Applebee's. It's not fine dining, it doesn't try to be, and I'm okay with that. But somewhere, you just have to draw a line, and this particular Applebee's crossed that line. I went there for lunch a few weeks ago and ordered a quesadilla off of the healthy choice menu. In retrospect, I probably should have noticed that virtually everyone else in the restaurant was eating something fried and gone with a more popular pick. But I figured 'how badly can they possibly mess up a quesadilla?' Well, the answer is 'surprisingly badly.' The trick to making a really terrible quesadilla is apparently letting the vegetables in it (this being the 'healthy' quesadilla, it had some sort of vegetables in it, mostly carrots) go spectacularly bad, just barely warming the thing up, then slathering it with sauce in order to disguise the bad veggies until the unsuspecting recipient is a few bites in. My suspicion, admittedly unproven, is that the quesadilla had been made up in advance -- waaaay in advance -- improperly stored, and just dropped into a skillet and reheated when I ordered it. But that's really not the best part: when I pointed out, politely, to the waitress that they had just served me bad food, there wasn't any attempt made to do anything about it. No offer to make another one (not that I would have taken them up on it), nor to take it off the check. She just picked up the plate and wandered off, bringing me the check with the entree still on it a few minutes later. That pretty much sealed the deal. Although I suspect you'd probably be safe eating there if you stuck to eating nothing but fried foods, you won't catch me there, ever. read more

Strike 3 and yourrrrrrrr out! This particular Applebee's has always had issues in the past and yesterday's service has proven my hypothesis through and through. This store is the worse excuse for a restaurant in Wilson, NC. Me and my husband ordered the 2 for $20.00 menu. The salads were awesome, I won't lie about it. They were fresh, crisp and delicious. I ordered the quasidilla burger and my husband ordered the Bourbon St. chicken meal. His food came out yummilicious, but mine, not so great. I ordered my burger plain. Meat, cheese, and bacon. When it got to the table it was covered in the mexi ranch sauce, so I asked the waiter to take it back and bring me another one. He assured me he would get me another one as quick as he could. When the burger came out, after 10 minutes and my husband was finished eating, it was burned to a crisp. Black as tar. I could not eat it, and I had to be at school so I did not have time to order something different. I was a little offset by this, and then I found out that the waiter himself had cooked the hamburger! What?? "I wanted to make sure it was right for you", ahhh how sweet. No. The manager did the right thing and did not charge us for any of our meal, but I can let you know that I will never go back to this Applebee's and I would recommend that you don't either. read more

I love Applebee's but not this location. I have given this place many chances but nothing ever seems to change really. The food is acceptable but the majority of the wait staff suck at their jobs. They hardly ever get the orders correct. I also hate receiving a glass or utensils that have remnants of left over food or lipstick on them. read more

This is probably the worst applebees I've ever seen. I don't ask for much, just a cheap meal. However, the wait staff are so slow. It took 10 minutes just to be seated and another 10 to get drinks. Horrible! !!! Our waiter jordan...was rude and more concerned with twerkin to drake hotlin bling than serving us lunch. We waited over an hour for some wings and 1 burger. Jordan offered no solution to my friends complaint about lack of bacon on her Bacon burger. He was rude and incompetent. Worst part the lazy manager knew what happened and did not even come over. She was too busy watching other employees shake their @$$. This place is ratchet and customer service is nonexistent at least from 12 to 2 when we went. Don't waste time or money. Came here with my husband. We decided to over look past experiences with this place and try it out since it has been over 2 yrs since we last ate here. Won't make that mistake again. It took almost 10 min for waitress to come acknowledge us and ask for drinks. The restaurant was only half full (or empty depending on your view). When she came we ordered our food at the same time. Appetizer of boneless wings. They were so-so. Nothing to write home about. Entrees were little to be desired. I got the chicken tenders and fries. What was brought to me should hardly be considered an entree as it looked like a child's plate. Four tenders and a half handful of fries that were COLD. couldn't eat them. My husband got the grilled chicken covered with cheese and rice (can't remember the exact name of this dish) and he said the rice was cold as if it had been sitting a while and the chicken was "mediocre" (his word). We paid at the table so we didn't have to wait for waitress to come back which was the only plus as she never seemed to be in a hurry the whole time we were there. Overheard her taking order from table behind us and she left the table to enter it in the computer and then came back asking each of them what they got again bc she "forgot to write something down". There was only 4 of them at the table and two of them had ordered the same thing. It's not that complicated when you only have 2-3 tables to wait on. read more

My Dad who is 77 was approached in the parking lot in broad daylight by a light skinned male approximately 20-30 yrs old with big hands. He told my Dad to give him his money. My Dad did not so the man punched him 3 hard jabs to his face and broke every bone in my Dad's face. I notified the Wilson Police Department. There are NO Surveillance camera's anywhere around Applebee's. I think the employees should be scared and be on the lookout for this person. So word of warning be careful if you dare to eat here! read more
