One thing to note is that while they open at 3PM, they do not start selling food until 4PM. The first hour is bar only. The appetizer of Taco Cheese Dip is like homemade Rotel dip with good taco meat. We loved it. I had the country fried steak with two sides of twice baked potatoes, which are mashed potatoes with cheese. Both were super flavorful and delicious. My wife had the New York Strip, green beans, and mashed potatoes. She said the steak is cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and is delicious. The mashed potatoes are seasoned really good and not just dry old mashed potatoes you'd get at most places. She said the green beans even have flavor and seasoning that makes them really good. We would definitely recommend this place again

The food was a huge portion and tasted pretty good. The next night I had the pork chop. It wasn't as great. A little fatty. Cocktails were okay and the beer selection was decent. Stephanie might be one of the most pleasant servers I have ever had. When in Rome go to the only Roman restaurant.

I went here with some friends a couple months ago on a night that was fairly crowded (it looked…read morelike a wedding party was there) and received terrible service. I realize that wait times can be longer on crowded nights--this is not because of that. Our server, Ivy, was incredibly rude and completely ignored us. She served all the tables around us, even sitting and chatting with customers or friends numerous times, despite the restaurant being packed and tables not receiving service. My group wanted to get food and drinks. Since the restaurant was crowded and our server hadn't come to our table for around 10 minutes after we sat down, we ordered our first round of drinks at the bar. No big deal. What frustrated us was when the server completely ignored or disregarded us MULTIPLE times as we politely tried to get her attention to order food. Ivy would walk right past us when she could clearly hear us trying to get her attention, or she would just look at us and then look away, as if doing her job wasn't worth her time. My friend went up to her to ask if she could take our order, and Ivy only told her something along the lines of "not right now." After around 30-40 minutes of sitting at the table, we realized we weren't going to get food from Ivy, so we moved to another server's section. I wish I could remember our second server's name, because she came up to us within maybe 1-2 minutes to ask for our orders and was genuinely so nice to us!! We told her about how rude Ivy had been, and the server apologized and said that apparently Ivy was like that a lot. My friends and I literally did nothing that would have caused Ivy to be rude to us. Ivy just decided that she would rather sit and talk with friends while on the job instead of serving us, then treat us like dirt on her shoe when we ask for food.

Hideaway Restaurant - First Taco Tuesday Under New Ownership…read more I genuinely wanted this place to succeed. The Hideaway has one of the prettiest locations in the area overlooking the golf course. Scott and Susan Pennington recently took over ownership, and tonight was their first Taco Tuesday. I was excited to give it a try. Unfortunately, the evening never found its footing. The restaurant wasn't busy. There were only a few occupied tables inside and a couple outside, yet the entrance was completely blocked by a standing happy-hour crowd. They were friendly people, but customers had to squeeze through them just to get in. That's a management issue, not a customer issue. Don't host a happy hour in your doorway. Then came the first surprise. No hostess. No greeting. No explanation that this is an "order at the bar" restaurant. We sat outside for nearly 15 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us before finally going inside to ask for service. Only then were we told we had to order at the bar. That's perfectly acceptable--many pubs operate that way--but someone needs to tell customers when they walk in. A simple sign or a quick greeting would eliminate the confusion. The bar itself was another challenge. People were lined up on both sides under "Order and Pay Here" signs with no clear indication of who was next. The lone bright spot of the evening was Alysa behind the bar. She was taking orders, making drinks, answering questions, and trying to keep everything moving while wearing far too many hats. She wasn't the problem--she was doing everything she could to hold the operation together. Our party of six ordered together. Four meals arrived. The other two didn't arrive until another 10 to 15 minutes later. Keep in mind from sitting down and waiting till going to the bar and ordering and actually getting our food was 45 minutes and only 4 of 6 got served. A table should be served together whenever possible. Watching half your party eat while the other half waits isn't a great dining experience. The drink service created another problem. Since there is no table service, every refill meant leaving your table, standing in line at the bar, waiting to order, waiting again for the drink, and carrying it back yourself. Each trip took around eight to ten minutes. On a beautiful outdoor patio where people come to relax, that simply doesn't work. One server dedicated to the patio would dramatically improve the experience. Now, the food. The corn salad was honestly excellent--sweet, creamy, and easily the best thing we ordered. Unfortunately, the tacos didn't live up to the setting. The pulled pork tasted like pre-packaged food-service pork, the shredded chicken was bland and forgettable, and while my mother enjoyed the shrimp taco, nothing on the menu felt unique or memorable. With such a beautiful location, why not feature Arkansas flavors? A catfish taco, grilled steak, smoked brisket, or house-marinated chicken would give people a reason to come back instead of serving tacos they could find almost anywhere. The good news is that every issue I experienced can be fixed. The location is outstanding. The patio is beautiful. Alysa is the kind of employee every restaurant hopes to have. BTW, I never met her before tonight. What this restaurant needs now are systems, training, and experienced restaurant management. In hindsight, this probably should have been a soft opening to work through the operational issues before inviting the public. Restaurants aren't just in the food business--they're in the food service business. People don't always remember what they ate. They always remember how a restaurant made them feel. I sincerely hope Scott and Susan succeed because this community deserves a great restaurant in this location. I'll gladly return in a few months, and I'd genuinely love nothing more than to write a glowing five-star follow-up review once the growing pains have been worked out.
