Well I started with a Caesar salad which was a bit bland . m wife has the French onion soup which was really good. I ordered the bourbon 9 oz steak with mushrooms and onions. I asked for medium rare and got more a of a medium well done . The steak was tender but lacking flavour. The garlic mashed was ok . My wifes meal was a rack of back ribs with fries. The ribs were very good and tender. Fries were alright. Over all, while the meal was alright, I was underwhelmed with the overall quality of my meal. The server was pleasant and helpful. Hi was at Grant Park this evening for supper usually a place we love to go. Unfortunately we had the worse service ever. The food was good as usual but the service was terrible. Our waitress never came back to see how we were doing had to stop the hostess to have him get our waitress to bring a second coffee refill and even at that we ordered a sundae and waited ten minutes to get the coffee refill when the sundaes came they obviously had been sitting for awhile as they were very soupy and that was then when she brought the coffee refill as well. After that was when she offered more coffee when we were finished it will be a long time before we go back to Applebees. read more

We were a little concerned after reading some of the other reviews. We are traveling here from Utah and wanted to eat a nice dinner. We had a number of bad experiences trying to find a good restaurant here in Winnipeg. So even though this restaurant didn't have great reviews, we decided to try it out as every other thing we tried didn't turn out well. Things that had good reviews were not so good. So we decided we had nothing to lose. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent. And the food was superb. We couldn't be more satisfied with our dinner. My first visit to an Applebee's was at this location many moons ago. It was the closest one by my apartment. The restaurant looks the same as I recall it to be structure-wise. Naturally, the menu and free wifi are different! I had my last lunch on my trip here before heading to the airport. I ordered chicken fingers with a smaller portion of fries. Thank goodness for this option! For someone like me who does not like a ton of fries, this meal is perfect. I had stopped getting the chicken fingers in the past when honey dill sauce for dipping was removed from the menu. It is my favourite by far. I am simply a lover of anything dill. If dill were a perfume, I'd wear it! I loved my lunch. The chicken fingers were juicy and yummy. The dill dipping sauce was yummy. The fries tasted better in the dipping sauce. I washed it down with a Diet Coke. I then ordered the maple walnut blondie, which is my go-to dessert. The unfortunate part was that I didn't get a spoon to eat it. I had to wait nearly ten minutes for a utensil. Dessert was food, but the plate wasn't as hot as it could have been. I'm glad that I revisited this place. These days, the closest Applebee's for me is in Whitby. It was great looking at all the Jets memorabilia and reminiscing. (163) read more

+.5 for service Oh Applebee's...I don't expect much out of you, but at least I know what I'm getting in terms of quality when eating here. I ate here recently with some friends, and it was really busy for a Saturday early evening. However service was still great despite the busy-ness of the place. I had the 9oz Canadian Top Sirloin, which was about what I expected: Average quality and overcooked. Luckily I was smart enough to go one level lower than what I wanted (medium, asked for medium rare). My table also shared the apple chimicheesecake, which tasted really unique. Funny how the dessert tasted better than the main course, haha. In a city like Winnipeg, there's obviously better options than a chain restaurant like Applebee's, but if you have friends or family who insist on dining at Applebee's...this branch isn't that bad at all. read more

We ordered the Oriental salad with chicken. Three orders. In all three orders, the chicken was very dry, and, in two cases, burned. We informed the manager. We were also concerned about the special menu, which had a large $19.95 sticker on the front but in a much smaller print, it said "starting from ". Applebees should be smarter than that. read more

I would not recommend this place whatsoever....the server was very slow and so was the food. I took my mom here for supper and some of the staff were sitting at a table next to us polishing silverware and they were saying some pretty disgusting things. For example they were talking about what clubs/bars ID as well as taking this 17 year old to the bar. They were also talking about how "90% of the people who go to the bar are there to hook up with someone" again keep in mind they are saying this to someone who is underage. Some of the things I don't even feel comfortable typing because it was so inappropriate. The steaks were over done and the spinach dip was very runny. My mom had orders a coffee that took 20 min to get out just to have Burnt/stale coffee. Please save your self and do not go to this location. read more

Good service, food came fast, good for families- but no good for people who want vegetarian/healthy options. I was shocked at the prices! They have a very limited 2/25 deal, but all the healthy meals are around $15-17. This is a family restaurant. I could get a really nice organic meal somewhere fancier for that price. We have been going to Applebee's for a lot of years and always experienced the best service, servers very hospitable. Once in awhile we would get a tough steak but they would try to rectify. We always walked away satisfied. Last night was a different matter. Waited for 20 min. before the server approached our table. We ordered wine. we asked for cocktail napkins to place the glass on, the server got them but threw them on the table. We asked for a glass of water at the same time as the wine. Had to ask a second time and that was when we were just about finished our meal. It did arrive. Then the server asked if we were going to finish our wine. Like excuse me ! ! ! ! ! We have never been asked that question. We waited for sometime for the bill then finally got up and went to the front to ask for the bill. She did not get a tip and I assume she wasn't happy about it. She didn't really deserve a tip, that had to be the worse service we have ever had. The server then approached the hostess who was a very pleasant young lady and poked her on the arm and said "If I have anymore walkouts you are going to be sorry". The comment was made loud enough that customers that were waiting to be seated could hear it. We weren't walking out we just wanted to pay the bill. It will be a long time before we enter that place again. I have never encountered such rudeness before in my life. This all took place at the Grant Park location. It had been years since I've eaten at an Applebee's. I went with some of my extended family and was really surprised at the improvements. The food was really quick and the shepherds pie was pretty good. Our server was friendly and always there with drink refills and to check up on us. read more
