    Kale Caesar and house lager.

Thanks to other reviews, I wanted to try out the Pumphouse and with it being First Friday, we had the perfect opportunity. Greeted right away, led to a high top table near the bar. Was hoping to sit at bar but it was full. Given menus right away and glasses of water. Super sweet server told us what beers were on tap, we ordered light lagers. Asked about kale salad I saw on Yelp but they no longer had it so asked for her pick, went w what she suggested, the Caesar Kale, super yummy but kale could have been cut up more, kind of big pieces. Also ordered the Vin Noddles, really good flavor and portion (they split both dishes which was super nice!) Fun vibe, great service & tasty food!

    Old pumphouse machinery

This is an interesting bar/restaurant built into the old pumphouse. The machinery has been refurbished and there is a lot of historical artifacts and souvenirs all over the restaurant. Food (4.25/5) - the menu has good variety and a bunch of gluten/veg options too for those who seek that. - XL Perogy - was very good! one large perogy about 7 inches wide with gouda and potato filling, pieces of fried kielbasa on top with onions and dill. It was cooked perfectly - just right firmness and great taste. - Chili Coconut Mussels - pretty solid dish with an interesting Thai inspired broth. Curly fries on side with some average tasting naan. - Drink menu has good choice and some interesting cocktails. Service (3/5) - our server was great - very friendly, knew her stuff and checked in on us. However the petite blonde hostess was a real downer... serious ice queen stuff. Not friendly or personable at all and it wasn't just us... she did it with two other groups/couples that came in right after us. So... 5/5 for our server and 1/5 for the hostess. Atmosphere (4.5/5) - it's a cool place... casual dining tables and bar area, good clean washrooms and glass windows and viewing areas to see the old pumphouse. Neighbourhood is not bad too seems to be up and coming. Overall (4/5) - it's a good place for some after-work drinks/appetizers or a casual dinner or drinks. Worth visiting.

Right off the bat appetizers and drinks were great and came so fast. Our server was friendly and it wasn't too busy so we enjoyed our dinner. The building is so cool and a must try if you're visiting Must try the mussels-pictured

Chicken Chickpea Curry !Excellent! Very flavorful!

Fantastic! Chicken Chickpea Curry was packed with flavor! Great beer list and cocktails. Unique ambience for a date or a business meal. I'll be back.

    Med Bread - flatbread pizza

We booked a high top table which had us seated in their bar area. The atmosphere was good and it was cool to see the old Pumphouse machinery as well as all of the heritage touches to the space. It was a Monday evening and the place was packed. The location of the table had us right in the path of the servers which continually rocked our table with the bounce in the floor. Both Pumphouse beers were good as well as the specialty cocktails. The Med Bread was loaded with toppings and flavour and so were the braised beef tacos. The mussels were so tasty and the naan dipped in the sauce was good too. The side of fries was a bit odd (would've preferred them as Belgian style frites).

Made it to this new restaurant on the waterfront. Great location. Parking can be an issue but we lucked out and got parking right next to it. Great atmosphere, fantastic cocktails. Started with the TNT prawns and the Perogy. Mains - Detroit style pizza, glazed salmon bowl and the California chicken club with a side of the Hot + Honey greens. Everything was tasty. Faves - prawns and the greens. Loved the nice kick. Cocktails were fantastic and so good they were dangerous. Could easily have one to many. Worth a visit.

    Drink #1 - I'm in luv Drink #2 - Tropic like it's hot

Cool bar that distills their own vodka and gin in a space from the salvaged St. Regis Hotel. The…read morespace is on Alexander where it's part lounge/bar and part distillery. It's located in a slightly quiet area but despite walking there around 9 and leaving after 11 on a Saturday night there were no issues. No coffee, wines or beers here but there are non-alcoholic drinks and of course loads of cocktails. Most cocktails are $13 and they even offer old school punch bowls (recall the ones our parents owned) except these are smaller ones and need a min of two people for $15 each. Food was just a few cheeseboards - one is a vegan cheese board too. Loved all of the cocktails we tried: - Golden bird - patent 5 vodka, apple jack, golden apple syrup, green strawberry bitters, Malic acid - espresso martini - patent 5 vodka, dogwood neon espresso and Kahlua - Long Island gimlet - patent 5 gin, rum, tequila, house cola cordial, citric acid. This was my favourite - maybe because it has a lot of liquor. Service was laid back yet helpful. Vibe was relaxed and welcoming. Just people having a cocktail and a good time. No pretension. Loved it. I will be back!

A beautiful space in the historic exchange warehouse district nestled into a building that's easy to miss so it gives the feeling of a speak-easy when the giant garage doors aren't open into the street. There is free street parking after 530 but it's in a very walkable neighbourhood with transit nearby. The menu of original drinks is quite extensive and surprisingly reasonably priced for such carefully crafted concoctions ($10-$15 for most drinks). This place doesn't have beer (you can get that around the corner at Nonsuch) and it doesn't have wine. All it has is beautiful cocktails and small plates of food. The atmosphere is super romantic and dark so you'll need a flashlight at night to read the menu. There's really no complaints here but just a comment about the cheeseboard. At $26 it's slightly more than what Peasant Cookery and Smith charged but still a fairly decent amount of cheese. The only thing we would change is the crostini it comes with. It almost doesn't suit the fun cocktails so it would be nice to see them replace it with something thinner and not so hard.
