My grandson cried every time we brought him to that place, and we finally had to pull him from that school because, after 8 months, nothing was done and I was a witness to the same boy taking his closed fist and hitting another child in the face RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! I actually should have filed a police report at the time because the school was knowingly allowing these incidences to occur in their classrooms with no repercussions. By the way, I called the Regional Director of The Learning Experience and she assured me that the owner of that location would be calling me to discuss this. It's been over 2 years and still no phone call or message!!!

Open gym is a winter time saving grace. This is two hours of play time on huge trampolines, a foam pit, a huge floor, a bunch of traditional gymnastics equipment. Kids are safe to play under the careful watch of instructors. The instructors are keen on the rules and very attentive. I have also notice attendance is capped to prevent chaos. Going deeper, my crew checked out the classes. WOW. Here priceless confidence building, self esteem, and motorskill development are taught. Oh yes...and gymnastics too!! The classes are taught to constantly to take children to the next level, helping them reach their full potiential. Born a COVID baby, he has always loved to play independently, but struggled in group situations. The staff and owners are incredibly compassionate and caring -- encouraging our son to play with others, but at his own pace. He has completely come out of his shell over this school year. It has been a joy to see the daily updates on the Brightwheel app (which teachers update during the school day), so that even when I am at work, I can relish in the absolute joy of a time our son is having at school. Time spent outdoors and with the animals is not only great for our high energy boy to blow off steam, but teaches so many life skills (outside of a classroom) that are so necessary to early childhood development. Their approach to early childhood education is incredible -- keeps all the content fun for kids, but with incredible impact. To compare his self-portrait and handwritten name from the beginning to the end of the year is insane! His end of year book brought me to tears -- and made me feel even more blessed to be a part of the Canterbury Creek family. In fact, this morning on our way to drop off, he told me he was so sad that school was over and that he would miss it over the summer. Good thing we will be back for Summer Camp and next school year. They're always communicative with any behavior issues that pop up and eager to collaborate with me to find the best way to address them. I have always felt that they genuinely care for my kids and both of my kids love it there. I also love their summer program, they find creative ways to keep the kids busy with field trips and STEM projects. Even letting the kids experiment with taking apart and rebuilding old electronics to see how they work and what else they can create with the parts. Wish I had the opportunity to do that when I was a kid!

The owner claimed that each family that joins becomes part of HER family, and she really becomes involved with each one. About a month after our children began attending Discovery Days, I began to feel just the opposite, that my son was not welcome there. My one-year-old son entered his "biting phase," and the owner and her staff had no idea how to handle it. Instead of adopting new and innovative philosophies to keep my son engaged and moving forward in his development, the owner threatened us with complete expulsion if his behavior did not improve within one week. To underscore her intentions, she sent him home for two days without prior notice, causing us to scramble for alternate care. When she met with us and devised a strategy for his return that we could all agree on, she later decided to renege on her own protocol without warning and removed us from the daycare permanently without just cause. Her explanation was that another family was threatening to approach the licensing board, and she was not interested in being investigated. Consequently, we had five days to find an alternative daycare. I now see that the owner possessed neither the knowledge nor the temperament to cultivate a positive experience for our children.
