Unfortunately, that was not the case. After multiple phone calls and emails, I received no response. I eventually realized that the primary focus of Innovage is to enroll people into their healthcare system and to make money rather than help families navigate Medicaid assistance. I felt like my questions about Medicaid is why I got no response. This was not only a complete waste of time, but also an emotionally difficult experience. I truly believed there was a path to getting my 95-year-old mother into an assisted living community in Golden, only to find out that the assistance I was told was available wasn't actually being provided. Families facing these difficult decisions deserve clear, honest communication from the beginning. I hope Applewood improves the way they set expectations so others don't go through the same disappointment and my advice is steer clear of Innovage!!

When my wife needed memory care, we visited some facilities in Lakewood that were a reasonable…read moredistance from our home. The last place we toured was Crossroads Memory Care. The contrast was palpable. I realized how sterile and commercial the other places were. Sure they were new and fancy, but Crossroads is also beautiful and less than nine years old. My gut said that Crossroads was warm and caring, and I couldn't have been more right about that. The staff are amazing. They genuinely care about every resident and treat them with respect and kindness. They are never too busy to talk with a resident no matter how illucid that person may be, and they make them laugh. The caregivers go out of their way to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable, and they know the name of every resident. Crossroads provides lots of fun activities and serves delicious meals. The place is very clean and nice-smelling. It's also telling that the Executive Director's office is in the same area as the residents and that she keeps her door open for residents to drop in anytime. I feel so lucky to have my beloved wife in their excellent care.

Then finally interacting with Deigo he looks at you with a discussing look on his face and is very short with you like were bothering him. The reason why I hadn't gotten her into her own "apartment" or facility, is because of what my mind thought an assisted living facility was going to be. I didn't want my Grandmother to be in a place that wasn't well maintained, or where the staff were abusive in any way etc etc. All the horror stories that one hears about pertaining to elder care facilities. Well, The Granville is ANYTHING but! From the second we toured the location right before the pandemic, I was put at ease. The residents seemed happy, the entire place was decorated just beautifully and extremely clean, and the staff was just so nice! It really felt like home! The help and expertise that they provided to me in getting my Grandmother approved was also a Godsend, because all of the paperwork can be tricky for someone not familiar! My Grandmother's apartment was just so lovely too! She was able to decorate it how she wanted, and there is a little kitchenette area with a fridge and microwave so she can have her favorite snacks. She has been there over a year now and I couldn't have asked for a better location to have provided the utmost care during the pandemic. They even took the necessary precautions one week ahead of time before the Government shut everything down. To accommodate all the residents who now were unfortunately unable to leave their rooms, must have been such an undertaking!! But the staff still made my Grandmother and the other residents not feel neglected and forgotten about. Making little crafts and spending a little more time with the residents so they didn't feel so alone during this scary time. They went above and beyond making sure everyone was kept safe and stayed healthy and just did an incredible job and am so grateful to everyone at The Granville. I could go on and on about the staff being just perfect and everything I could have ever hoped for, for my Grandmother. If you have a loved one and you are feeling apprehensive about locating a place where you can rest easy at night knowing they're being cared for properly and with respect, then look no further. My Grandmother absolutely LOVES living at The Granville! She has made friends, still has her independence and adores the staff! I am eternally grateful for finding the Granville and cannot thank Sara, Joe, Kathy, Jamie, Mary and the rest of the entire staff for providing this location and the care that they give to someone that means SO much to me!

He was in a couple of other facilities that were below par before we found the Granville. From the moment we walked in, we felt that this was home. Sara, the executive director helped us with the transition paperwork and made it totally painless. The employees really make you feel like they are part of the extended family. Joe, Donna, Alicia, are just a few of the great "family" members that always have a friendly smile. I could go on and on about all of the wonderful things about the Granville. Since dad moved in I have had to move about 60 miles away and I would love to have him closer, but I haven't found any other facility that can match the Granville. For me, the drive is more than worth it to have him live here. The Granville is always clean, the employees are warm and friendly, activities are available, the meals nutritious, meds are accurate and the apartments wonderful. Since dad has lived here they have spent money on capital improvements to keep the facility in top shape and comfortable for their residence. I would and have highly recommended the Granville to anyone that is needing a place to LIVE and add to their extended "family"!
