I can't speak to all the other bad reviews but I had a good experience with Appliance Repair Center coming out to Quincy to diagnose my issue of water no longer coming out of the refrigerator dispenser. Scheduling a time was easy and I had text and email reminders. The technician also was willing to wear a mask when I asked him to. Matt was able to talk me through all the steps he was doing to figure out the issue. He didn't pressure me into buying a new part or any unnecessary services. I only paid the diagnostic fee and not any additional service fees because he felt it was unnecessary to do any further work until I saw how the fridge worked with a new water filter which I was able to order off Amazon instead of going through them. Matt walked me through all several options of what I could do with the problem from completely replacing the faulty ice maker to keeping it off and only replacing the water filter. The pricing for everything was very transparent. I did ding them a star because I didn't realize the repairman arrived because there was no company name on the car and there was no uniform. I don't believe the guy had his refrigeration license either because he mentioned he would have to send a different guy in to do any major work. That said he knew enough to get the job done and didn't overcharge me. read more

July 15th-back with the wrong part for refrig Aug 7-replaced another part, I can't tell what because of the vague billing Aug14-replaced some other part, I think, called COD-2C-INSTALL AUG 22-back again with COD-2C-INSTALL AUG 30-ANOTHER COD-2C-FOLLOW UP. I reached out to the Appliance Repair Center back in November 2023 to assist with a repair for my mom's stove. At the time, they were very attentive and scheduled an appointment to check things out. They were able to determine what part was needed and placed the order. They were honest in letting me know that there have been some delays in getting parts, but that they would keep me informed as to the progress. To date...I have heard nothing from them. To make matters worse, I have called their office SIX times to inquire as to the status of things. Every time it has been the same thing - the person answering the phone tells me that they will have someone get in touch with me and NO ONE ever calls back. Highly disappointed by the lack of communication. Unfortunately, my elderly mother is screwed out of the money because their policy is that once parts are ordered....no refunds. I was referred to this company from lowes warranty department. They came out quickly. Repair guy was nice and explained everything fully that was wrong to me and my husband. He took pics and said the compressor was gone in our fridge which was why freezer was not working. He said he would put in repair order and come back to put new parts in. I called today a week later to check the status of the parts and the rude lady that answered the phone told me my fridge was fine and my claimed was closed and she didn't know what else to tell me. However, it is now March 2021 and still haven't heard back from anyone at the company on the status of the part and every time I call, they just tell me they'll call me back. It took them 46 days to fix my refrigerator not because of my warranty company that took 4 days. Not because of parts they called me 3 1/2 weeks before my appointment saying my parts were in. They did show up at the appointment time and fixed it. Then 5 days later I had the same exact problem (completely broken). I called them and they said I had to put a new claim in with my warranty company. I guess they do not stand by there work what soever. Did not have a good experience. I actually feel like I dodged a scam. my appointment window was 1pm-6pm. The tech was a no call, no show. A little after 7 the tech called saying he would be by in 30mins. I said no thank you. He stumbled with his words. Asking don't you want me to try and get it going? I again said no thank you. He hung up on me. I then received a text from the company stating do not contact us for any further services. I thanked them and asked please don't harass me because of poor service. I refused because he would have come here at almost 8pm at night and charged me 125 to look at it, but if I needed a part it would have required another visit and he would have left here and my fridge would have not gotten fixed. And before this company comes back with "that's not the whole story which is how they address every poor review. and there are a lot of poor reviews. My only suggestion is for the scheduler to allow the repair person time to travel between jobs. I was given a window of 9:00-1:00pm and because of the distance between jobs, he let me know that his ETA would be 2:30 pm which meant I had to arrange a ride for our grandson at the last minute. read more

The guy they recommended us to came out but appliance repair center never communicated to him what work he needed to do. He reviewed our receipts and then took a look at the fridge and let us know that from what he could see, the compressor we had paid for was never installed. We tried calling appliance repair center almost daily for months to come to some sort of resolution to complete the work, refund us, or provide the parts to have someone else complete the work.The owner Troy uses call centers to avoid having to take calls from customers he's ripped off. While trying to communicate with him, one of his call centers actually refused to continue working with him because he would not return any of our calls. So then we had to start over from square one with a new call center. Do yourself a favor and just find a different business that won't take your money and run. Appliance Repair Center was sent by our LG Extended Warranty Service to repair the computer components of our dishwasher because it was beeping throughout the wash cycles. They came and diagnosed the issue and then came a second time with the parts to perform the repair. They replaced the necessary parts covered under the warranty. However, when the technician opened and took the dishwasher apart, he did not put it back together properly because he left a rubber piece hanging out along the bottom of the dishwasher like an apron. It was not like that before he took it apart and it looked terrible hanging out of the dishwasher. I asked him to put it back the way it was supposed to be inside the unit. He told me that it is a part to protect the interior components of the dishwasher from dust and pet hair and that he could skip putting it back in. I told him we have two long haired cats, so it is a necessary component to protect our expensive 2 year old dishwasher and I asked him to put it back in as it was before he took it apart. He shoved it back in and as he was leaving, it flapped out again as soon as I opened the dishwasher. I asked him to try again, but it seemed as though he didn't know how to install it and just shove it in incorrectly until it was no longer visible. I showed him that it seemed to be rubbing with the door hinge because you could feel the tension when opening the door and the door did not open all the way down. He said it would probably smooth itself out with use so he left it like that. About a week later, the part flapped out and was hanging out of the dishwasher again. I called Appliance Repair Center and they told me that they had closed out my warranty claim and that I needed to file another claim with LG. I called LG and they told me that the warranty covers the mechanical components and not a rubber flap that was installed incorrectly. They advised me to call Appliance Repair Center again and ask them to come back out to install it correctly and fix their mistake. When I called back, the woman on the phone (I believe her name was Katie, but don't remember for sure) told me she had to speak to the manager and would call me back. When she called back, she told me that I would have to pay a fee just for a technician to show up and then another fee for the repair. Overall, it was going to be over $200 for them to repair something that they incorrectly installed or broke in the first place. I told her that was ridiculous and why should I have to pay for something they caused by their mistakes? She said that was their company policy. I asked where it was written in their company policies that the customer has to pay for them to fix the mistakes or damages that their technician caused? It was installed correctly and had never had an issue with it hanging out of the dishwasher in the two years we've had it. This issue was caused by their technician and they should fix it. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me she was the manager. I pointed out that she had told me she needed to speak to her manager in our previous phone conversation and that I wanted to speak to her boss. She said she would have her call me the next day, but it has been 15 days and I have not heard back from anyone. A yound repairman came out, said he got a code which corresponded to a leaky intake valve. Gave the $95 diagnostic fee and he returned to replace the valve to the tune of $360+, left and leak continued. Second repairman came and said it was the internal pod dispenser and that Electrolux was aware of the problem but because my washer was over 2 years old the dispenser was out of warranty. They took the deposit, came in on Thursday, said they replaced the part but during the very next wash it leaked again. Called immediately to complain, they said they would send another repair person out on Monday BUT Monday morning I got a call that they were not coming out because they didn't know what was wrong and could do no more. Called and asked what about the $413 spent for nothing and was told NOTHING is going to be done to mitigate this issue!!! Stay the hell away from this company. If I could give them zero stars I would. DO NOT do business with this company. My refrigerator and dishwasher needed repair on July 11th. They did fix my dishwasher, but after googling the error code I found out that the repair was simple. But the refrigerator is where things go terribly wrong. After $600 for just the refrigerator repair, 7 (SEVEN) visits and 3 (THREE) months my refrigerator was not repaired. It was actually worse than when they first visited for lack of cooling. To make matters worse I was told to "stop pestering them with emails" After I sent 2! Asking about scheduling for a return visit and then they ultimately ghosted me. I then had the manufacturer's technician come who was able to successfully fix it after just one visit. I wasted time, money and 3 months of living without a refrigerator dealing with this company! My biggest complaint with this company is not that the repair of my washing machine had problems right from the start (some out of their control) but their total lack of customer relations and absence of any desire to correct the mess and make me whole and happy. It would appear that customer satisfaction is not their number one goal. My first repair call was around January 25th. When the technician ran his diagnostics, he stated the washing machine needed a new motherboard. Upon checking with his parts department, he stated that they had a rebuilt one in stock, that because of the age of the washing machine LG was no longer making new ones. Came back a few days later and installed the rebuilt motherboard and left. The washing machine still had the original problem. Scheduled another repair call. This time said the drainage was clogged, fixed the problem, and left. Washing machine still had the original problem. Scheduled another repair call. This time the technician said the wrong motherboard was installed and ordered a different rebuilt board. This time the board was not in stock and had to wait two weeks for one. Technician came out and installed the different rebuild board, tried to run a wash and the machine still had the original problem. Now they said the first motherboard was correct but defective and needed to be rebuilt again. They had to send it back to the supplier and have it rebuilt and that they had no idea when the supplier would be able to rebuild. At this point (probably six weeks into the saga) I said that I had no confidence that this next step would repair my washing machine and let's declare a "mulligan" and just give me my money back and when the rebuilt motherboard comes back just put it back into your inventory (where it was in the first place). Everybody would be in the same place they were before my first repair call. I would be made whole (I was charged over $400 for the repair) and the company would have the same part in their inventory that they had before the repair call. The company representative said "No". I asked to speak to the office manager/supervisor. She said "no" to my proposal without a good explanation so I asked to speak to the owner because their response made no sense to me, in my mind no one was harmed. Yes, the company had an unreimbursed repair call but other than that everybody was whole. Despite my request the owner never contacted me, just hid behind the office manager. He/she made no further attempt to right the situation and solve this customer relations nightmare. On April 18th I was scheduled to have the new "rebuilt/rebuilt" motherboard installed. It was not convenient for me so I scheduled it for April 25th, approximately 90 days from my initial repair visit. When technician arrived, I just took the board and said thank you - I replaced my washing machine 60 days ago. Now I will be reaching out to other appliance repair companies to see if I can sell them my rebuilt LG motherboard. read more

I had them come to fix my dryer and after 3 appointments and $700 it was still broken. This was over a 3 months of them ordering parts and coming to fix it and then telling me there was something more wrong with it. Immediately after the last appointment my dryer started smoking, my house was filled with smoke from the dryer, I called the repair man who just left my house and he would not come back to look at it. I called to store and they were no help. I called them multiple times to address the fact that my dryer was still broken and they never replied. The phone number I had for them stopped answering calls altogether. I had to call another repair company to come and fix my dryer that cost me another $500. The new company said that the problem was that Appliance Repair Center did not fix it properly and that's why it was smoking and still not working. I would never use them again! We requested a technician to come out to come service our washing machine. Two young men show up in, what looked like their own personal vehicle, without masks. They could not take a part off the machine to service it, so they tried to use more force and ended up further damaging the machine making it completely unusable. They left, not telling us it had been damaged, of course. We later saw when we went into our laundry room. Had to have money to order parts....Gave 95.00 for the diagnostic consult and gave another 105.00 for them to order part. Was told it would only be 7-10 days..... it was a month. Same guy came out and told me its not the mother board its my electricity. So call your electrician. Then he said he wanted another 215.00 for the repair....I said WHAT????? the dryer is NOT working. He said you have a brand new mother board.....I said its NOT working......I said you will get the balance when the dryer starts working. I called my electrician, NOTHING wrong with the electricity, its the dryer he told me. Now I am trying to reach out to them and i cant get through, not accepting my calls. Calling BBB to report them.
