Ever heard of the old adage like trying to pull chickens teeth, this guy was the reason that saying was invented. He wouldn't answer questions, you had to fish for information during the entire conversation, he answered with one word responses, it's literally like this guy did not want to sell anything? We really wanted to try to do business locally rather than give our money to a big box store like Home Depot or Menards, however, this guy made that impossible. They charged $85 to come look at a repair and told us they could not get the part. My husband went on line and found the part on amazon. So he went back and told tgem and all they would do is give us a credit for future. We fixed it ourselves with the part they said they couldn't find. Strange way of doing business. A repair person came out to look at my dryer that was taking 3 rounds to dry. He immediately said it was my vent and wanted to look at it outside. We walked to the back of the house and he said yes it's your vent, and we don't work on them. So, came back in house and I asked what I owed him. He said $80, that was a house call. Mind you he did nothing, and was here less than 5 minutes. I don't mind paying for his time, but that is ridiculous. Will never call them again. read more

On 8/14/2023 I went to the Appliance wizard in Marion IL to shop for a washing machine. Went I entered the store several employees were assisting a female customer, as I inspected the inventory and took down model numbers and prices I expected a salesperson would ask to help me, this did not happen. As the inventory offered a small collection of washers, I felt it would be best to move on. The first impression of this store persuaded me to shop elsewhere, because if the sales staff ignores walk-in customers what could I expect from them when it came time for service or repair. read more

Beware of this place. very shady and the price kept going up plus they broke my dryer then charged me to fix it! all i needed was the heating element replaced but by the time this place was done my dryer didn't work for 3 weeks and the price was more than double of what they told me it would be. Call anyone else but please don't call them. I used the one in Marion but im telling anyone who will listen not to trust this place, unless you like getting ripped off by con people. read more

Bought a used fridge (for garage beer use) and a new microwave. They swore it was fine. Immediatly found the freezer worked fine but the lower refridgerator wouldn't get cool. Called and called for a remedy, either new fridge of send a repairman to fix it. They were booked and no used fridges to swap out. Worked with Carbondale and Marion stores. Worked OK through the winter, but got it quit cooling above 80 deg again. Called again and this time they said it was too long since I bought. Was I supposed to call every single day? I diagnosed the problem myself and fixed the refrigerator myself with a new 12 dollar part from Amazon. If you go to Appliance Wizard be prepared to become a small appliance repair person. They just want your cash and to never see you again. Trust Craigslist more. read more

Hello, your technician NomanDown to that@ 7034736879 charged me for a part that did not rectify the problem with my washing machine. He missed diagnosed the issue and ordered a part that did not fix problem. He then charged me $45.00 for a part that didn't fix the problem and my husband later discovered Noman took the part with him and left the old part. He stole the new part. I don't recommend anyone to have Noman come into their home because he incompetent and a thief. I tried to resolved issue via my bank but he claimed charge was valid. He took advantage of me as a woman. Appliance wizard Noman deserve no stars. I can't get that star to remove. Puls sent someone out a week later and rectify the problem with washer in less than 10 mins. read more

My story. My sister in law was moving to southern illinois . She is on social security( fixed income) we purchased a used washer/ dryer may 11. She moved in June 1 by July 21 the washer was not draining i called they said I was out of the 60 day in-house warranty i asked if someone could come out , they said $80 service call and parts - what happen to 1 year warranty . We canceled the appointment - the lady said she would talk to the manager. No return call. Now we still have a broken washer and no service call back. Finally got my electric range after waiting for a month after ordering it. Absolutely no communication from the staff about the status of my order. I was told at the time of purchase that it would take two weeks. I talked to the twice (I had to do the contacting) and was told each time that it would be here the next Friday. Delivery charge is $70.09. They did deliver and install it free for the inconvenience and the delivery men were very kind and professional. The staff needs to learn that a little effort on their part to communicate with customers on any problem would go a long way to customer satisfaction read more

Appliance Wizard, The Short Version: They are slow to repair your appliance and are money grabbers that will pick your pockets along the way. The Long Version: This is our typical experience with the Appliance Wizard. An appliance stops working, we call Appliance Wizard to come out and fix the broken appliance. Appliance Wizard on average takes at least one week (sometimes longer) to schedule a date to come out to repair our appliance. Appliance Wizard does not schedule a specific time but a timeframe instead, so you get to waste a period of time from 1-4 hours of your day waiting on Appliance Wizard to show up. Appliance Wizard typically shows up, looks at the appliance, tells you it's broke (as if you did not already know that), they have to order the part(s) that usually take a day or two to arrive. They then charge $100-$200 for showing up and not fixing the appliance. Appliance Wizard then schedules you to wait another one-two weeks before they come out to finally fix the appliance for another $150-$300. If you have other options other than Appliance Wizard I would take a chance with them. Unfortunately Appliance Wizard is one of the few if not only companies that repair appliances in the Marion IL area. read more

A repair person came out to look at our oven Dec 22nd. He appeared to be new because he kept calling someone with questions. Finally, he said he had to order two parts. After a couple weeks my wife called to inquire about the status. She was told they would check and call us back. No call. Two or 3 weeks after that she called again. She was told they would check and call her back. No call! The second week of February I called and was told the parts were evidently on the way because the supplier showed in-transit. We set up an appointment and I requested a different repair person since the first one was so unsure of himself. The same repair person showed up. After an hour of working on the oven he told me that one of the parts he received was the wrong part and that it would have to be reordered. But, he thought the part he installed might fix it. I asked if the wrong part was being reordered and he said yes. About a week later I got a survey about the service I received. I called Appliance Wizard and asked if they ordered the part. I was told no the repair person thought what he installed would take care of the problem. They asked if I wanted them to order the part. I told them no, if I had any additional issues I would contact the warranty company and ask for a different repair company. read more
