Appliances R Russ was recommended by two of my neighbors and I was pleased with the service. Russ checked my washing machine and found coins that may have been blocking the drain. He also serviced my dryer and suggested that I rinse the condenser monthly, until light is visible through it. Russ recommended that I refrain from using pods since they're sized for regular washing machines, not my small washing machine and soap may prevent the spin cycle from working. He shared that he works on all appliances except for fridges. Russ was personable and only charged me for one hour of service. read more

Russ came by for a washing machine that wouldn't drain properly. No one else seemed to have availability but he fit me in and worked around my schedule. Once he came by, he worked on the machine for a few minutes, left it draining properly, and fully waived his fee given how easy of a job it was for him. This is the second time that I have used this great company. The first was about six yers ago when our washer was still under warranty. This time it was our dryer. The necessary but complicated paperwork that our Manhattan building requires was completed and submitted, appointment set up for two days hence and Matthew arrived on time. This is the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. First appointment in which I took the day off of work, they never showed up, they didn't call or text to let me know. Vicki called the next morning to reschedule. She had an attitude with my annoyance of the lack of communication and blamed it on Covid. She said they are all vaccinated, so, someone could have called. I have a feeling Russell or whatever Techs they do have aren't vaccinated so I wouldn't want them in my home anyway. The second time the guy came unexpectedly since Best Buy said I didn't have another appointment so I went to work. My husband happened to be home and stepped out. I should have had him wait 10 minutes but he asked if he can go to another job and come back. He never came did! I tried to call Russell and he didn't answer and I called the office and Vicki said that he had multiple jobs on the Upper West Side, so he had no intention of coming back! Now they don't answer the phone and Vicki isn't returning my call. She must be Russell's wife so she doesn't care either. I don't get how they can just treat clients like this! Several appliance companies were referred to me by the manufacture of the brand that I own. The brand I own is Asko which is made in Sweden. This is a specialized product and not everybody can fix it. I spoke to every company that I was referred to but the customer service at Appliances R Ross was the best. The person I dealt with was named Vicky and she was very helpful and very kind. Then on the day of service everything went amazingly well. Russ fixed the product very quickly and then tested to make sure it was running perfectly. I then had another issue with another appliance and he took a look and even though it wasn't a simple fix he stuck at it for a good 15 to 20 minutes to fix it and didn't charge me anything extra. Who do you call when the man who's been repairing your appliances for 15 years stops answering his phone? For my broken gas wall oven I'm lucky I picked Russ from the myriad of repair companies. The oven was completely dead. No electric power at all. Russ diagnosed and trouble shot the wire that was shorted. As a phone technician I know it wasn't an easy trouble to diagnose. Joe called to say he was running a few minutes late (which I can't blame him for with this weather). He arrived a short time later. He was friendly straight forward and efficient. He came in with some "just in case" parts (some of which were needed), diagnosed the problem and solved it quickly and effectively. TERRIBLE COMPANY AND SERVICE***** your receptionist/admin named Iggy is one of the worst and most rude representatives of your company that I have ever come across. Telling a customer that she doesnt need my business is is disgusting and you should train your workers to be polite. I had a scheduled appointment for today between 8am-12pm and when 12 came no one showed up. I called and she told me 1-3pm. 3:00pm comes and she tells me that she called once and if she doesnt get an answer she will not send anyone. Also, very little effort on trying to reach me. Despite the fact that I called this morning and i said our office hours 9-5 as this is an office. Then when I tell her we are here to send someone she tells me she needs to talk to you tomorrow. Like wth, you are hours are not closed and she could have called you but decided to dismiss me until tomorrow and not even have a confirmed schedule. I had this appointment since last Friday and have no stove in an apartment that a family with two children live at. This isnt fair and is a total mistake on your part. Terrible !!! Did not keep the first appointment, so my wife waited around for them not to come. Even after I called on the morning of the second appointment, they showed up 1hour and 15 minute pasts the window. They sent a "technician", a kid who did not even know that on a LG washing machine the special cycle "Spin Only" the machine is not supposed to fill up with water... He also confused the machines "load sensing" action (a erratic series of low speed spins) with a spin cycle. Obviously he has never done his own laundry, and certainly he has never fixed a washing machine in his life. This company is a joke. Anyone who rates them highly is probably on their payroll. read more

Horrible with scheduling. Given 8am-12pm window through my warranty company. Called Appliances R Russ directly and person I speak to says that someone won't be coming till after 1pm. Excuse me? And by 3pm their office is closed. Horrible customer service - maybe their technicians are good but the staff in the office should be fired. And at the end of the day they were a no show. Called Appliances R Russ as they were listed as a authorized servicer for the Viking stoves. (There were 6 companies listed in the NYC area for Viking. The top 2 on the list -- i've used b/4 for my fridge...WORST EXPERIENCES EVER. Those companies did a $hit job. The other 3 on the list did NOT have good revies. Appliaces R Russ had the most good reviews across multiple search sites.) Just as the other review on this site stated - they were pretty much ON TIME or let me know how far out they were. The first guy (had 2 guys come out on the same day as it turned out to be more of an electrical problem than a parts problem) brought the "just in case" parts as well. Within half an hour (that includes the time it took to pull the stove out from the counter space), they were able to test/determine the electrical issue. So the owner Russ was called in -- who happened to be close by finishing up another job. Fixed/completed and back to working condition. They were quick and efficient. I will use them again for ANY appliance issue I have (hopefully I won't ever need them). I will also recommend them to anyone. read more

We have a Capital gas range, which is a great appliance, but not very many technicians know this product. Russ was one of a handful of appliance services on Staten Island recommended by the manufacturer. Was very pleased with his work and called him another time to repair our Bosch dishwasher. Called to have my brand new Asko Washer fixed (Asko btw is the absolute worst. Don't ever buy one). 1) They were very flexible with timing - they gave me a 4 hour window, but when i said i needed it early in the window they called the repairman and he re-arranged his schedule to oblige 2) The repairman, Joe, was an all-star. First he called me directly to give me a precise arrival time. Once here, he fixed the unit AND took some extra time to show me some troubleshooting tips and ways to avoid future problems. Honestly, one of the best repairman experiences i've ever had. I would recommend these guys to everyone. NYC is full of repair companies that are pretty indifferent to customer service since the population is so big they can survive w' out repeat business/word of mouth - not these guys. Per my building Super, I called Appliances R Russ to have my Asko dryer repaired. Got voice mail, but a return call within ten minutes. The woman was professional and scheduled me immediately in a time window that worked for me. The repairman, Joe, came within the time window, introduced himself, ensured his feet were clean before coming in (which is important to a lot of people). He quickly diagnosed the dryer problem as a broken pump, but went one step further and did a test to prove that was the issue. He had the part with him. Reviewed pricing with me (ugh. $325 for parts and labor), and asked for my sign off before proceeding. Voila! Fixed in 20 minutes! Joe told me his work and the part have a 90 day guarantee on them, gave me a business card and receipt on the spot. Very professional. The only downside is the price....but I guess it is good for NYC. Will be the first call I make if another appliance needs repair in our condo. read more
