I've taken a free craft class here and have send signage for plenty of kid & family friendly free events. The kids section looks large and there's rarely been a visit where I haven't seen some kind of family or kid event going on there so probably a great destination option. Librarians and staff are friendly and helpful and any checkout lines move very quickly. Pro tip: Sign up for their newsletter and you'll get a consistent reminder of all the events they have going!

Not as big as northeast and not as much to do but still fun and something free to do. We have also been to Chesapeake city and rising sun. All great places to take your kids! A good selection of titles with various formats available although CDs are no longer available at this branch. That said, you can request a CD hold for pickup at the Abingdon branch. They will also order/request items they don't carry in the Harford County system from Baltimore for example. Also nice to be have the option to pick up your reserve items at the window. Most of the branches are open Sundays from October to April. I've always had a great experience with all of the staff at the various branches.
