Terrible customer service. It has taken me 6 months to get my medical equipment. When I finally got it, they left it no where near my house and out in the rain. The unit was soaked. When I asked them to send me a new one, they told me wait a week and let it dry. It didn't work. They told me if I want a new one to drive out there. I can't drive. read more

So I've been a patient of Apria Healthcare on and off for many years now. I had the BEST phone experience when ordering supplies from a wonderful customer service rep named Ashley C. Ashley was so informative about everything that I ended up buying the proper cleaning machine for my new C Pap machine. Less than 1 star. I just was searching for the location & every location has 1 or 2 stars. How can they stay in business? Their customer service is nonexistent. When you do get a hold of them they are beyond rude. I had a call about equipment that was ordered. I told them that I was driving, she kept asking me for the serial numbers on the machine. How in the he'll am I supposed to know that. She argued with me & asked me the same thing over & over. Then said she would just cancel the order. I called back when I got home & asked to speak to someone else. Conveniently they said they didn't know who called me when I was driving in my car. So instead of getting my equipment they sent a legal document (pages) that said I will pay out of pocket for any equipment that I don't use. I have used a CPAP machine for years which has been verified by my Doctor who can download I use it every night. My insurance pays 100% of the costs. I called about this document & said im not agreeing to sign this. This idiot called me back to explain it to me ( I can read I understand what it says) I said I'll sign that I received the equipment when it comes. He further said that this was to protect their losses for equipment that doesn't get used. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? A year later and I still don't have my equipment ordered. We are Kaiser Patients and my 80 year old mother had double knee replacement in August. Getting the bed out to us Vallejo was really a hassle and there was so much miscommunication. However, the bed was picked up today by a young man names Stephan. Not sure that's the right spelling, but I believe thats how it was pronounced. Somehow the infrastructure at Apria is overwhelming, but the human side and interaction is the most important piece. This young man was respectful, kind and warm. He was professional and put such a great foot forward for Apria. It was a five star service experience. From the moment he knocked on the door and told us who he was, you could tell this was a company that valued us as customers. I encourage you to hold on to this young man and use him as an example for others. Apria is redeemed!! read more

Apria -as the previous YELP reviews note- has serious problems with billing, delivery and customer service. Last Feb/2024 I was hospitalized for COVID. I was released and was sent home with O2 tanks. I confirmed with my Dr. that I did not need the O2 tanks. I called Apria to pick up the tanks the next day. They did pick up the tanks. However, for the next 5 months I was getting charged for the tanks. I called many times and was assured the charges would be reversed. NOT. The charges still kept appearing. After hours on the phone with inept agents I finally called the Fairfield office direct. A very nice young lady, Jennifer, carefully reviewed the account, noted the errors and arranged for the charges to be removed. I gave them 2 stars because of Jennifer. As for the rest, poor billing procedures and very confusing to sort it all out. We (Kaiser) are stuck with Apria - make sure you stay on them - they need to be supervised. read more

I have been waiting to be discharged from the hospital pending an oxygen delivery which I was told would take no longer than 4 hours maximum. It still has not been delivered over 4 hours later and now says could be another 4 hours. This is terrible customer service with no reasoning as to the delay. The customer service rep was rude when I asked if there was any way to expedite the delivery since it's a local company. He asked if he should cancel my order which I find very unprofessional. I was polite in my question. I have been in the hospital 7 days and would like to go home, but they are holding my delivery hostage. Terrible company. read more

Went for a CPAP initial set up. It was right before Christmas so they were a bit slow which was good. Was nicely greeted by front desk and within a few minutes was greeted by Beth the therapist. Moved to a meeting room where she kindly and methodically showed me how to use the equipment, what to expect, suggestions for greater comfort, how re-ordering supplies work, etc. Beth was great and very kind. Avoid ! This place is ridiculous. I've been Trying to get their equipment picked up and it is a joke. The first scheduled time they called me 15 mins AFTER the four hr window to tell me they werent showing at all for the day! Thanks for wasting my time. The next two times they were 'overbooked' and canceled. The fourth time they came earlier than the slot they gave me (i do not live where the items are, they are picking up for my dad who passed away).. so i missed them. I call and reschedule. This fifth time online it gives me a slot from 1:45-5:45.. i call to make sure they're actuallllly coming, the answering service gives me an 'updated' eta of 5:15-9:15. Traveling from So Cal, I broke a tube to my CPap and needed a replacement. I traveled from Napa, about 30 minutes to arrive at a small reception desk. I was greater with a very helpful and knowledgeable receptionist who helped me navigate with So Cal Kaiser and Apria...awesome. I was able to explain everything, over the phone ONE time and get it all figured out. In less than a half hour, I'm on my way out the door, no money out of pocket, with my new hose. read more

I have been an Apria customer out of necessity because the closest competitor is 75 miles away. At this point, I'm thinking that driving there can't be as bad as having to deal with Apria again. I have a CPAP which requires periodic changing of parts. Honestly, I let my parts go as long as I can because I can't deal with having the call Apria. I ordered my parts online and the next day got a voicemail from Apria saying I needed to call them. Problem? Yeah, they didn't give me a complete number. So I called the main number and waited to hit 4 to connect. A woman named Lita answered. Said I had called Apria.com and I wanted ApriaDirect.com because they were two different companies. Gave me a number. I called. Same voice giving out phone tree directions. I hit 4 again. Guess who picked up? LITA! So now she decides to listen to me and she says that I can't get my parts without a download from my CPAP. I am told to mail in my SD card because my insurance company won't authorize replacement parts until they know how often I use my CPAP. I could go on about how why it didn't make sense for me to order replacement parts unless I *was* using it, but I won't. I mailed in the card. A couple of days go by, I get another voicemail with an unintelligible voice leaving yet another unintelligible number. I call the main number again. I'm told that my SD card doesn't have any data since 2017. The lady even asked me why I had stopped using my machine in 2017!!! I assure her that I use my machine every night since the 1990s. So I go with "Your SD card not recording info is not my problem," I say. "Your machine must have malfunctioned. Please send me my parts." Nope. We're going to send you a Respiratory Therapist to take the reading from your machine. Another day goes by. Another voicemail. Also completely garbled. Don't you have *one* person who can leave a message properly? I call again. I'm told that now they want to have me send the data remotely, like I know how to do that. So I hang up and call my insurance. My insurance is the most helpful company and they immediately tell me that due to Covid-19 they have waived the pre-authorization requirement for parts. The lady offers to call Apria for me (Oh, yes, please! Good luck with that!). She does. Apria calls back and leaves a fourth garbled message. I call them back and I'm told they don't have a way to enter the waiver from my insurance company into their computer to clear ordering the parts, so I'm still going to have to provide them with my data. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!?? So here I am, a full ten days since I ordered my parts, with no way to get my parts because no one has come to my house or left an intelligible message on who to call to fix the problem. Fairfield, CA, especially the person in charge of the store, are impatient and rude. Last April it took me three weeks for them to deliver my equipment. They were sloppy and lost my prescription twice. They are almost walking distance from my house. Fast forward 3 and 1/2 months later and they're still billing my insurance for the machine I returned to their store. I wasn't even asking them to care, just to do their freaking job. If I could give them a zero, I would. I ordered equipment, they sent me generic crap that does not work with my cpap machine. They refuse to give me a refund. Now they want me to drive 25 minutes to bring it all into their office in fairfield...for what i do not know. THEY SUCK!!!!!!!!!! I am so frustrated right now, I just do not know what to do. They gave me the wrong information which they admitted but are still billing me $200. Was diagnosed with pneumonia yesterday and need a nebulizer to distribute medicine into my lungs so I can breathe. I called Apria today and asked them when I would receive, they stated it's being processed and there's no one I can speak to? Called again to escalate and still no info, hopefully I will not end up in the hospital over the weekend. Called my insurance company and Apria has not called for approval nor do I believe they need it? I have worked with Apria in Sacramento before and never had issues obtaining equipment in a timely manner especially when breathing is what keeps one alive! They told me they were going to deliver my wife's oxygen by 2:30 pm. Nothing. Kaiser called to ask if they delivered, I said no. Mind you, I had to leave my wife at the hospital to be home for their 4 hour delivery window. Kaiser called them and they said I am next in the list and it would be 40 minutes. At 3:30, still nothing. I call Apria myself and the woman on the line said it was delivered to my front door at 3.30. I am furious because I had been in my living room waiting for it the entire time and was told I had to be home. I look at my front porch and nothing. The woman in the line tells me to wait while she finds out what's going on. She comes back on and tells me that there was an issue with my delivery and it will be another two hours. I am beyond furious. Apria kept me at home away from my very I'll wife because of their ineptitude. I ask to speak to her supervisor. I tell her two hours is not acceptable. I got the oxygen within an hour. This was my first experience with this company. Now I need to get some tanks replaced and there is no instructions or phone number on my invoice to call! This company should not be serving customers who are already stressed with health issues. If I could I would give them Zero stars. We need to petition Kaiser to find another company before their ineptitude causes death or serious harm to a customer. Called agin this morning to ask if they could come replace two oxygen tanks. They said the soonest they could deliver would be next week! Patients depend on oxygen for LIFE. Why don't they hire more drivers? I also saw review after review saying basically the same things. No thanks......... 4 Separate prices on the same equipment. 1 price from Kaiser, and 3 prices from Apria directly! Apparently the pricing runs on a sliding scale based upon what you can afford......and not in a good way. When all is said and done a 300% increase over the initial quote. But it gets better...... Apria was like fly on !@#$ when it came to getting paid. No problem, here you go. However, when it came time for a refund on a piece of unused equipment that I was told to return.....well that seams to be a different story. We returned the equipment as requested, but could not get our refund. We have now spent a total of 3.5 hours with customer support on 4 separate occasions....and the wheels just keep on turning. Apparently, it is not possible for customer service to issue a refund. It must be forwarded to a supervisor. The problem is the supervisors do not call back, and when you call them back to inquire about the status, the entire process starts over again. Tip: If customer service puts you on hold, after about 5 minutes their system will drop your call back into the call que and you get the honor of explaining your entire problem over again to a new customer service rep, who will then do the same thing........I thought it was groundhog day. Bottom line, it may be fine if your insurance company is dealing with them, however, if you are paying out of pocket, don't even bother. Worst company and service ever! We've been trying to get help on a cpap machine for my husband for over a week now. The one they sent us was wrong, charged our credit card twice for it and now we're patiently waiting on someone to call us to tell us when we can expect the correct one. We have called every day and sent emails and faxes and can't get anyone to help us. I really do not know how this company can stay in business with such poor service. I'm happy we're not waiting on life threatening equipment....my hubby would be dead by the time we got any help. We are beyond disappointed in this company and their service. My husband has used this company for approximately 20 years. I purchased a back up battery from Apria Direct, which I was told is the part of Apria that the patient purchases products from not covered by insurance. I gave the sales person all the information she asked for in regards to the brand of machine my husband uses. The battery was delivered and in a few weeks we took a trip in which he needed to use it. It only ran his machine for 4 hours. He tried it 3 more times with the same results. Today he tried to speak with someone at Apria that could help him. Well after 3 hours and speaking with 5 different sales people and 2 supervisors that are all located in the Philippines we have gotten know where!!! I do not normally review companies or anyone for that matter unless someone has done a great thing for me. I don't seriously verbally bash on anyone because it's bad karma. But today I have to warn people of this company if I can give 0 stars I would. The people at the physical locations are great. Great help. But once you get into the system there is nothing but stress and disappointment and even to me criminal acts. I require a cpap to sleep well friends have told me I sound like I'm dying in my sleep. At first they told me I will own the cpap which states on my insurance. Which a rep at apria acknowledge at first. After getting everything they flip their script n said no we are only leasing it to you. After several calls back and no help and at times feeling blamed for the situation I said screw it. But then I recieved a bill and a package for parts i never ordered. Several attempts were made to find out why and no good answer. After seversl more calls I received the return instruction which was so idiotic and screams I hope you lose your package. I knew something bad was going to happen so i prepared myself for more mistaks and guess what they forgot about it. So I make several more calls to find out where my money is. After weeks I receive a check for 1/4 of what was deducted out of my account. They just stole my money! I have worked in cell phone sales for more than 15 years with all top carriers if you have ever called the customer service you know how bad it is. Apria has by far exceeded the worst ever customer service they answer the phone with a chip on their shoulders and I mean every single person I talk to from billing. Sounds like they are there just to collect a check and work there hours even had some just conversating in the background. They transfer you when they get frustrated and ive been hung up on several times.This is a warning to all consumers ask your doctors what company they are ordering from and working with. Ask for a different provider to save money and headaches. The people at the physical centers are great people but customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with. It's like they prey on people with health issues knowing we need their equipment to have a better life. I think they have cost me more stress then any health benefits I'm very close to just not have this machine just so I dont have to deal with them again. Which makes me cringe just thinking about calling them because that is the only way I can get the necessary parts to keep my machine working and clean. I am torn. So I rented a cpap from Apria in 2011 normally you rent the equipment for a year and its yours. My last equipment i purchased outright a year ago . Today I got a bill for $947.00 for the equipment from 2011. In 2011 I paid $1200. in rental fees. for a $600.00 cpap machine. So I guess my insurance company has been paying Apria.but this is the first time I have heard about this, I changed Insurance company's in 20018. 9:00 appt. sitting here waiting and listening to 2 female employees gossiping and being very loud. Very annoying and unprofessional. Totally ignoring me and I'm sitting 4 feet away. They have a sign in sheet, I was the 1st one to sign in but they took in another person before me who also had a 9:00 and showed up 10 minutes after me! Conclusion from my experience- Apria sucks and treats people like expendable biowaste, they only care about making profit off your insurance not taking a care of their patients. They would rather you die so they can stick to their branch policies, protect their bottom line, and take their equipment back, rather than try to be of assistance and profit from a repeat customer. If you still can, look for supplies and support elsewhere. They don't deserve a penny or a minute of your time. I don't know how these guys are still open with a such a horrible track record and ratings like these. They sent me another patients machine, late, and lazily promised to switch the units numbers on our accounts so they didn't have to pick up and exchange them, leaving me with the other patients paperwork and them with mine. They started refusing to answer the phone or return calls when I needed a third CPAP mask when the first two leaked and did not work for me, AND while STILL within the 30 day exchange period. I can't sleep with them at all, and it's made my health and sleep schedule worse trying. Last year I averaged 4 to 8 hours intermittent sleep, and was well enough to go on a pleasure cruise. After being diagnosed with sleep apnea and recieving this machine I'm getting maybe 2-3 hours of sleep a night once I rip the mask off, and am dizzy for half the following day after use of it, needing to nap into the afternoon/ evening to recover. I've swallowed air and belch endlessly because they wouldn't contact me to hear I needed them to adjust the pressure. I've developed anxiety and worse, bloodshot eyes that feel like they are popping out of my head when the machine is on, followed by waking with dizzyness, headaches, and confusion, a dry sinus/throat irritation problem when I wake whether I use the machine now or not. It forced me to buy a room humidifier to try and remedy to some degree when I sleep without it. I am barely even turning 30 this year, and my HAIR that I was growing out to have made into a wig for my mother is even going grey more, and becoming dry and breaking off in fistfuls with so little sleep! I barely have enough energy left to get up and cook dinner for the family, watch some shows, and go back to fighting for 3-5 hours of benadryl and melatonen induced, nightmare riddled sleep! Six months later I'm eligible for new mask, suddenly they answer my calls and update my contact info. What, was I blacklisted!?Meanwhile I've been stuck with a machine that is defective and making my health worse by the day. The machines cellular feature is also faulty, has no SD backup and has not recorded any sleep data from March through May, and history is only working intermittently since on the resmed app, but they refuse to address this. Even though the local branch is supposedly responsible for hardware issues they forward me to numbers that put me on hold and then hang up before I can leave a message or ask further about it. They did this 4 times in a row! With missing record my insurance will likely want the machine returned and for me to repeat a sleep study which I already had to do twice. It's also impossible to schedule that now due to corona virus! They still however refuse to help get me fit for a mask that works due to a ''no appointment'' policy during home quarantine, and I need to obtain a gauge from a third party since they cannot provide one to measure my face and know what size fitlife mask to send me next as a result. Since they never got me a mask that worked in the first 30 days, the next mask I choose may not work either, and their policy is to expect me to buy my own future masks that may not work, out of pocket, for trial and error at $160 each .. or just 'tough it out' and wait six more months to try another. I hate my worsened condition and these people have added to my problems and made me hate my day to day life even more. STEER THE EFF CLEAR OF APRIA. THEY ARE LIFE-WRECKERS. read more
